Creepier in real life. The whole building looks like this.
Doan L.

Booked this hotel for our trip to Miami for Ultra Music Festival.. Not worth saving a couple hundred bucks over the span of 3 days. I've stayed in many hotels in many developing countries; this was the worst hotel I've ever been in. I honestly don't know what they do with all the extra money, as the rates are only about 10% cheaper than the competition for the high traffic weekend. We were cheap and took a chance on a lowly rated hotel.. Never again. The good: Some of the staff were friendly. I hope they get paid well because they have to put up with a lot of complaining I'm sure. The bad: Everything else. The hotel smells like pee, bathrooms don't have door knobs, nothing seems to have been upgraded or replaced in a couple decades. I understand this hotel is supposed to have "the basics".. but it's much less than what you'd expect. We left a day early and paid half-price for a nice place on South Beach (The Riviera South Beach.. Great spot). Our last day at the Leamington was non-refundable because it was UMF weekend, but our group had no regrets about leaving and paying extra for a nice place to stay after a long weekend of partying.

This was a very old smelly hotel, but it was cheap for Miami. period. The restroom was clean and I never saw any bugs. I never figured out why the fourth floor rooms didn't have AC units, but the lower floors did. We needed an AC window unit. There are plenty of places to walk to from the hotel to eat (try Sparky's BBQ). Also, the shuttle service to the airport and/or port is very convenient. We just stayed one night before our cruise left so it wasn't that bad.

If I could give this crap hole a negative rating, I would. $167 for a hostel style room expedia's images are not up to date, extremely misleading and we are now left looking for another hotel at 10pm, after just getting off of our flight. Upon arrival, we were not greeted. We had to ask if we were at the right hotel. The front desk clerk was not helpful at all and kept his headphones on the entire check in process. We entered the elevator and were overwhelmed by the reaching smell of marijuana and B.O. There were dirty linens lining the halls of the third floor. These up-to-date images speak for themselves.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. I paid $285 to stay here because it seemed like a decent price for a good location. BIG MISTAKE. First off, you share a bathroom with a neighboring hotel room! The power outlets are so old that the plugs won't stay in the wall and all of them don't seem to work. I went to unlatch a window and it literally fell right off of the tracks. Paint is coming off all the walls. This place is super dingy. The TV's are 50lbs from the 1990s. The room smells like bleach and the lobby of the hotel smelled disgusting. Pictures don't do this place justice.

You know how sometimes you read those reviews and they say "dont stay here blah blah" and you think "eh, its just one night and it's cheap, how bad could it be?" ....no. Not this place. Seriously. DO NOT STAY HERE We stayed because they had a free shuttle to the cruise port in the morning. I would have rather paid for an uber. They did not have our reservation when we checked in, I had to show confirmation. We had to ride in a janky elevator with a creepy dude who watched us go to our room. Okay, just lock the door, right? That would be great if THE DOORS DIDNT HAVE RINKY OLD LOOSE LOCKS. We literally pushed our table in front of the door at night for extra precaution. The room was disgusting, we showered with flip flops, and slept on top of the covers fully clothed. The shuttle in the morning was a large mini van, packed with strangers and hardly any A/C. I stay at 2 and 3 star motels all the time. I know what to expect. I was literally scared to sleep and strongly considered moving, but we were on a budget. Please do not stay here and get this place shut down.

This little guy decided to make the twin bed a full.

This quaint hotel has a great downtown location! Walking in was bittersweet. Literally, it smelled like vinegar and tropical room spray. The hospitality staff was almost nice and offered us a late checkout in the event that we needed a longer rest from our travels. Rather than renewing the expired elevator permit, they opted to put an "OUT OF ORDER" sign over the elevator doors. This worked to their advantage because they do not have a fitness center on the premises. This gives all their guests the opportunity to climb the fire escape while carrying their bags. Excellent gluteus and arm workout. I was only on the top floor, no big deal. I was so ready to hop into the twin bed but first, I needed to shower. I'm glad I brought my own toiletries because none were provided. The previous guests were kind enough to leave their garbage behind both in the garbage can and strewn throughout the room. Note: I recommend that you wear flip flops in the shower. Finally, time to sleep. As I crawl into bed I immediately felt that I was not alone. Sure enough I lift up the covers to find a dollar coin-sized spider cozying up next to my thighs. He must have been cold or hungry. I may have not gotten the best sleep of my life but at least I had a late check out to look forward to. Normal check out is 11:30. At 10 AM sharp someone came into the room to wake me up and inform me that I needed to leave. I called the front desk from my cell phone and asked what time my late check out was. I was told that I had until 12:30. I decided to go back to sleep. At 11 AM the maintenance manager knocked on my door to tell me that it was time to leave and stood at the door until he saw me beginning to pack my things. Thankfully, I made it to the lobby just in time for a standard check out. They do offer a continental breakfast. Luckily, I didn't eat the muffins they had because they don't offer muffins during breakfast. Perhaps they used to be apples? Or even oranges? If you're still reading this review, you're probably waiting to hear the rest of the story. Sadly, that was the end of my stay at the Lemington Hotel. I do not like to write bad reviews so I won't. Moral of the story: Don't judge a book, rather a hotel, by its cover. Judge it by what crawls into bed with you.

They offer free hot breakfast, mini fridge and microwave in the room, cruise shuttle at time of this review is priced at $12 with pick up times at 10a, 11a, and 12p. If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. The cruise port ride was booked for 8am, so I beat the 9am bumper car cruise port traffic. The video I posted is short and quick, but a glimpse of the room

I checked in on the app the day before and picked the room. We parked in the garage, went to the lobby, and got our room keys. As we went to the room, there was a sign on the door indicating the room was occupied. I was surprised and ended up going back to the lobby to see what happened. It turns out that the app was glitchy and we were put in a different room number. The lady behind the counter made adjustments and we were able to stay on the same floor as what I originally picked, but in a different room. The room had a king bed, a fridge, microwave, a TV, drawers, and a bathroom with a shower. It was very clean. We got two drink vouchers to redeem at the lobby/pool bar, which was a plus, to enjoy while we were at the pool. The hotel has a fitness center as well. The continental breakfast provided a selection of coffee and juices for the beverages. The food items consisted of a waffle bar, different types of pastries, and breakfast foods to choose from. They offered a little more than some of the other locations I have been at.

My gf and I stopped through here on our way out before boarding our flights later in the afternoon. If you're toting your luggage and not a hotel guest, you will have to find another hotel to store your luggage while enjoying this most decadent brunch experience. Luckily we arrived early enough to our reservations to sort that out. Reservations are a must if you don't want to wait. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. First, the good, it's an awesome location on the southern tip of Brickell Key. The pool was wonderful and gets mostly continuous sun exposure during the day. My balcony faced west so I had sun during the afternoon as well (perfect for a tan). Honestly, I never felt like I needed to leave the resort being a pool guy. The base price room was spacious and mostly clean with a separate shower and tub. The bad- the service wasn't great here. I felt like anytime I needed something I had to ask 3-4 times before staff would remember (including freebies that were part of the room rate). The one time I asked a concierge for assistance he was super brash telling me to go talk to the front desk. The property felt old and in need of a renovation (again it's being demolished so not surprising in that context). Also, a lot of the ads for the resort promote its beach which no longer exists- it's now a model home for the condos going in. The hotel is pricey and gratuity is auto-included at 20% for everything which would be fine if the service was better and they didn't ask for additional tip on top of it. I wish I stayed here 20+ years ago because it felt like in its hay day this was a swanky hotel. Today, it's tired, on its last months, and the staff really don't seem like 5-star talent (as a benefit to the doubt most people would be unmotivated if things were shutting down too). Part of me is excited to try the new hotel whenever it opens, part of me wonders if the poor service is just part of the brand. The gym was tacky- literally they just through equipment in 6ish guest rooms with the doors propped open. Kind of funny but not 5-star hotel caliber.

The king bed does take up most of the room, stretching from the window to the wall, so the room feels a bit compact--but it's thoughtfully designed. The sink is located in the main room across from the bathroom, and I actually found the setup pretty functional. The shelves around the sink were stocked with a washcloth, hand towel, hair dryer, and tissues, plus hand soap and lotion at the end of the counter. There was also enough counter space for toiletries. There's an open closet area and a nice touch of wall art, and the laminated wood flooring gave the room a clean, modern feel. One of my favorite features was the in-room iPad that controls everything--such a fun tech-forward touch. I also absolutely loved the decor throughout the hotel. There's also a bar on the second floor with outdoor seating, which is a great spot to relax and people-watch.
