Parking is scarce so come early. Park by the Van Wyck highway, there are no meters there. If you don't, you are going to have to pay for parking. The classes "fly" by quickly.

It was just me and him but it went smoothly and quickly. He turned on the video for me to see the movements I would have to demonstrate. He maintained a running dialogue and kept information grounded to real world, every day life use. He assisted in my stance and even ran through a practice scenario in which we played it like it may happen in the future. At the end, I had the option to do additional modules for children and infants, etc. but I declined. This class is not expensive at all - especially when you factor in that he's teaching you life saving techniques. I opted to return again, this time with my family so we all can learn children and infant cpr as we have a preschooler in the house and now that I've vetted the place, I've confident that the experience and information being presented to us will be done the same way. He offers same day certification and will give you your card on the spot after class is over. I very highly recommend if you are looking to learn CPR and be taught the information in such a way that it's understandable and retainable, come here.

The seminar in my state of Connecticut was already filled so I went back to the NCCDP website to find another. Since there were no others offered in Connecticut at this time, I chose one in NYC, only a train and cab ride away. I found out the name of the instructor and found a video of her speaking on YouTube. I liked her conversational tone and immediately signed up for the course. We spoke briefly at one point and on August 31st, 2018, I traveled into the City for the Seminar titled Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care. Yulandie Latham, BSN, RN, CDP, CADDCT was waiting in an empty room. I wondered if I was going to be the only one and she smilingly reassured me that I was not. Within moments, 9 others entered the room and we exchanged pleasantries and began. The class size was perfect so each person got to be heard and ask questions. The atmosphere was lowlight and soothing and the instructor was the perfect one to lead the Seminar. Not only did she have the medical training but her own Mom was afflicted with this horrible disease. We all shared common experiences and learned how to handle unexpected ones. It was a true growth experience. Ms.Latham made it interesting and the Seminar did not lag. I truly am grateful that the Seminar in Connecticut was full because this was easy listening of a very hard subject.

I have been trying to schedule a WSI Prep-Course with the NYC location for a month with numerous emails and phone calls. The correspondence via email has been brief and gives insufficient information. After repeated back and forth I was scheduled for the Prep-Course but it was cancelled the day before due to pool maintenance (which I assume was a last minute situation out of their control and understandable). When I was finally able to reschedule I was offered today, I accepted but didn't get any details regarding where to go or what to bring or confirmation that they received my acceptance. The morning of the class I got an email 4 hours before asking if I could do a different day without any details as to why. I responded when I woke up 1 hour later explaining my WSI course started in 1 week and RE-stated that weekdays don't work because of my job (which I had already told them multiple times.). I tried calling to confirm that I could still attend because my commute to the pool was over an hour. I got no response via email or phone so I decided to go to the pool because I needed an answer and my employer paid for this course and I don't want to fail due to not being prepared. In route I called and spoke to a man from another location who said no one else was registered for the course, he apologized for the fact that I received a confusing email the day of my course but wasn't able to confirm one way or another because he isn't at the NYC location but that he would try and get ahold of their manager and get back to me. I arrived at the pool before getting a call back. No supervisor was there, an instructor teaching a different course suggested I call and email but that he couldn't help because he doesn't do the course I need and had his own course at this time. Bottom line - the communication and customer service needs to improve. It has been incredibly frustrating and I am at a loss for next steps.

I have been taking my BLS classes with CPR123 - Mineola for the past couple of years. The classes…read moreare suitable for both healthcare providers as well as non healthcare providers. They have several NY locations (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk) but I've only taken the Mineola ones as the times and location worked for me each time. I've had different instructors each class (all with healthcare backgrounds) but all of them were great. The class I took recently was with Paul. He was very knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that wasn't boring. Classrooms are clean with AC and working mannequins (they have lights that show if you're doing compressions correctly). There are also bathrooms available but I did not use them. You can book classes via their website or by calling them directly. I have done both with no issues. The staff at the front desk have always been pleasant. They will send you a confirmation email with more instructions so make sure you read that because if you're using GPS, it says to put Mineola and not Garden City. When I took my class, we were allowed to park on levels 1 and 3 marked for visitors. Check your email though in case that changes. Parking was free and plentiful. My class was on a weekday at 12:30pm. I've done all in person classes because I learn best that way so I can't comment on the online classes. I think with the online classes though you still have to come in to do the hands on portion. Once class is finished, you should receive the ecard within an hour or 2. If not, call them. Mine for some reason took 2 days but I didn't need it in a hurry. Cons: 1. There is no difference if you're doing an initial class or renewing. They used to have this option (renewal was cheaper and less time) but maybe it's just easier to have initial/renewal as the same. 2. There weren't much day and time options for the locations I was checking out (Mineola and Huntington) for July. It was either 8:30am or 12:30pm start. It would have been nice if they had some later start times or more weekend classes.

Registration is super easy, now there's no difference between first time certification and renewal which is great. In the era of covid, I opted to use the Mineola site for the first time and it was nice. Parking lot available with limited spots but there is also metered street parking as well. Cali was the instructor and I've had prior classes with her, she's fantastic and keeps things straight forward. The 3-4 hour class flew by! Have also had classes with Mike and he was superb! They all have tons of experience in emergency resuscitation. I have been to the Forest Hills and Manhattan locations also- however parking bites and I usually take the subway but I do not want to take public transport to get there until covid is more controlled. Learn to save a life with CPR123!

The instructor was friendly and knowledgeable. The class was very informative I actually learned and had a manikin to myself unlike the other location I use to go to. Only thing I would have like to be different is to be given a 10-15 minute break, having a 3hour session you may need to use the bathroom or go out to drink water. Keep in mind you can't bring food or drinks into the classroom. Hope to go back in two years to renew.
