They have several NY locations (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk) but I've only taken the Mineola ones as the times and location worked for me each time. I've had different instructors each class (all with healthcare backgrounds) but all of them were great. The class I took recently was with Paul. He was very knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that wasn't boring. Classrooms are clean with AC and working mannequins (they have lights that show if you're doing compressions correctly). There are also bathrooms available but I did not use them. You can book classes via their website or by calling them directly. I have done both with no issues. The staff at the front desk have always been pleasant. They will send you a confirmation email with more instructions so make sure you read that because if you're using GPS, it says to put Mineola and not Garden City. When I took my class, we were allowed to park on levels 1 and 3 marked for visitors. Check your email though in case that changes. Parking was free and plentiful. My class was on a weekday at 12:30pm. I've done all in person classes because I learn best that way so I can't comment on the online classes. I think with the online classes though you still have to come in to do the hands on portion. Once class is finished, you should receive the ecard within an hour or 2. If not, call them. Mine for some reason took 2 days but I didn't need it in a hurry. Cons: 1. There is no difference if you're doing an initial class or renewing. They used to have this option (renewal was cheaper and less time) but maybe it's just easier to have initial/renewal as the same. 2. There weren't much day and time options for the locations I was checking out (Mineola and Huntington) for July. It was either 8:30am or 12:30pm start. It would have been nice if they had some later start times or more weekend classes.

Registration is super easy, now there's no difference between first time certification and renewal which is great. In the era of covid, I opted to use the Mineola site for the first time and it was nice. Parking lot available with limited spots but there is also metered street parking as well. Cali was the instructor and I've had prior classes with her, she's fantastic and keeps things straight forward. The 3-4 hour class flew by! Have also had classes with Mike and he was superb! They all have tons of experience in emergency resuscitation. I have been to the Forest Hills and Manhattan locations also- however parking bites and I usually take the subway but I do not want to take public transport to get there until covid is more controlled. The recent and still occurring Hurricane Harvey has displaced Millions upon millions of residents in Texas and the South. Our nation's fourth most populous city, Houston inundated by relentless rain and flooding. The surrounding areas and neighboring States are next as this slow moving Hurricane releases Historic amounts rain and water. As I write this report, this monstrous disaster continues to still lumber across the South toward Louisiana and Florida. I could not believe the extent of the horrific heartbreaking damage and loss of property, until I viewed photos and videos of the heart-wrenching loss and witnessed The Bravery and the courage of so many who flew like angels to rescue so many millions. The American Red Cross is here to help all people who need them regardless of any condition. The wonderful volunteers provide them with a bed a hot meal a blanket Necessities to return to normal life. My Dear Yelp friends, You need not feel helpless. You can do something! The Red Cross was at the scene about 5 minutes after the fire trucks and what an incredible job they did. As one of the temporarily displaced (I hope to be back in there in a few days once power is on) I have seen first hand just what these folks can do. We were all found rooms to spend the night, emergency provisions and of course, coffee and donuts. These incredible people are all volunteers - from the people who sat with the elderly victims to the people making coffee - all were incredibly wonderful. I urge anyone who reads this to make those donations - I always had in the past and now I can see just how worthy this organization is and how well spent the donations are.

Space I learned so much the staff Diesel and Chris were amazing. They were very helpful and patient. Be instructor Chris was very knowledgeable about every aspect of placing IDs the information around using IV I felt like I learned so much being there we had hands on practice and he was able to sit with us as much time as we needed to till we felt comfortable and confident in the skill I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants to learn IBC or even these to just sharpen their skills it is definitely a place you could definitely look into I'm so glad that I found this place and I will definitely go back again if I need to.

I needed a renewal fast and searched online for local BLS renewal courses. After searching, I browsed LICPR.com website page. There was availability for a weeknight class at 6PM in Copaigue. I was happy with the times because most classes on Long Island were at 1:30/2PM start time on a weekday which is not convenient for workers or a whole day weekend course. Todd has to be my favorite CPR instructor I have met thus far. The material we learn each and every year is the same but he made it relatable which makes it more memorable which is definitely important if there is a life or death situation. I received my new card via email at the end of class. The location is above a fitness studio and has a large office space on the 2nd floor with a parking lot attached. I definitely will be going back here for my CPR renewal in 2 years and will definitely recommended this to my colleagues.

He had a lot of real life experience and knowledge, which he used to make the class much more interesting and relevant. He was thorough but efficient and much more engaging than other instructors I've had in the past. I definitely left the class feeling like I have the knowledge and skills to feel confident in performing CPR should I ever need to. The location is very convenient-they have a large parking lot behind the building. They also print your cards immediately following the class which is helpful. I live in Massachusetts but had such a great experience here, I would definitely come back to this location when I need to renew!

Took my BLS CPR class yesterday. Our instructor, Tom, was hands on, friendly, and made the class…read morevery engaging and fun. I learned more during this class than I thought I would. Tom really put us to work for practicing CPR on the ground. We did several rounds of CPR on dummies, and it made me realize that yes, health care providers and anyone else certified can get exhausted after just a couple of minutes during this process! We learned the proper techniques on how to switch off for 2 person CPR as well. I will be coming back in 2 years and hopefully Tom will still be teaching here. Thanks to this program, I am not more confident to know I can help someone out if life support is needed. They also give you same day certification cards which was really helpful because I have a job interview later today, and can now bring my card to the interview. It's $27 to replace a lost card, (not the centers choice for the fee), but American heart association. Tom gave us a great tip and told us to take a photo of the card or make a photo copy, this way we don't have to pay for another one if it gets lost. Great place, I will be recommending this center to anyone who needs verification. (They also offer recertification classes for a lower fee).
