I first heard about Leavitt's Auto Care through glowing recommendations in Vegas-specific subreddits, and I'm so glad I decided to check them out. Finding a trustworthy mechanic can be challenging, but every visit we've had to Leavitt's has been a positive experience. Our most recent visit came after my car had multiple warning lights pop up: check engine, cruise control, and traction control. I initially took the car to another shop, USA Auto, because of their flexible hours. Unfortunately, that visit resulted in a nearly three-figure diagnostic fee and an estimated $3,000+ repair bill. After doing a little research, I discovered this is a common issue with her car; caused by not properly securing the gas cap after refueling. To confirm, I purchased an OBD2 scanner from Amazon, took photos of the codes, reset the lights, and took the readout to Leavitt's Auto Care. At Leavitt's, they confirmed no immediate repairs were needed. While there will eventually be work required on the catalytic converter due to normal wear and tear, the current issue wasn't urgent. Best of all, they didn't charge me anything for the inspection! This honesty and professionalism are exactly why we keep coming back to Leavitt's Auto Care. Leavitt's came recommended by a friend, and he (and the Yelp reviews) did not lie! My car decided to quit on me in the parking lot of my job. I'd just gotten a new battery, and a jump start didn't help. Since the car wasn't making any noise at all when we tried to crank it up, we figured it was the starter. My friend convinced me to have my car towed to Leavitt's, and I'm glad he did! They were friendly, fair, and able to work on my car right away. For all who are looking to use Leavitt's steer clear. The Red Chevy IRCO Z28 is my vehicle. I do NOT authorize the use of these pictures to promote crap business. Originally took the vehicle to RUDY at Leavitt's Auto to diagnose and resolve an over heating problem. I asked for a compression test be performed to diagnose a head gasket issue - which Rudy (owner) said came back fine. Spent the next year and more chasing down the heating. returning it everytime it over heated there after - Only to be told that it was a HEAD GASKET!!! So I paid for a new head gasket - and for the heads to be evaluated/resurfaced/re installed. The ONLY thing they did was slap new head gaskets on. I know this because I have since HAD THE HEADS PULLED AND INSPECTED. They were never resurfaced, and never serviced (new seals/compression test/vale inspection) which I have since had done and paid for AGAIN. Due to the length of time they had the car, and Continued Heating Issues I decided to stop by un announced while they had it for the Head Gasket repair. As I pull up to the shop I notice my vehicle parked in the bay door and its missing the Fuel Door. Come to find out they had damaged my vehicle on the lift. Not only did the not tell me, they tried to hide it by performing self bondo on my ground effects, and using my fuel door to "Match the paint" They where in the process of painting their crap Bondo attempt of my ground effects when I walked in.......In addition to the Crap Bondo they also attempted to Bondo my Oil pan (or JB Weld can't tell which) and spray painted over that as well. It caused multiple other damage points under the vehicle which have only since been found by new mechanic i.e damage to exhaust, muffler hanger snapped, etc The vehicle has 56K original miles on it. Never leaked a day in its life. only 3 owner with a relative being the second owner and me the third. I have all dealer stickers, service documentation for the life of the vehicle, and original manuals - I KNOW THE LIFE STORY OF THIS VEHICLE. When my vehicle was returned it leaked a lake of oil every time I started it. RUDY CORNEJO - LEAVITT'S AUTO ruined my vehicle I was charged over 7K$ for all work. Not wanting to take it back to Rudy and his crew to "fix" the oil leak - I sourced another reliable mechanic, who specializes in classic vehicles. The list of things I was charged for but were NEVER completed is astounding - New Spark Plugs (never changed)- New Air Filter (never changed) Oil (never changed) Intake manifold gasket (never changed - reused old, and added RTV) Plenum gaskets (never changed) Im paying AGAIN to actually have them done. Unless you want to end up in court trying to get your money back, DON'T GO HERE. I used LEAVITT'S back in the day when Jim Leavitt owned it - Respectable, Reliable. Used Leavitts a few months ago and was quite pleased with the Service and the value, recently took my car in for a window pulley replacement after I drove off, the window was rattling and mysteriously the A/C didn't work. Took it back the next day and was originally told that a hose needed replaced, then it switched to only needing a clamp put on it. Worked for about 4 days then the door/window started rattling again and the a/c didn't work. Took the vehicle to Ted wiems, window was never tightened and put back together properly and there was never a clamp put back on the a/c so it popped off naturally. I've heard the original owner sold, too bad, will never return. read more

Wrong time for my windows not wanting to go back up on my car in this wonderful Vegas triple digit heat. I got a recommendation to stop by Leavitt's, so glad I did. They told me I may have to leave the car or come back but they could do a quick check to see if it was something simple. At this point I'm in panic mode on the inside and they offered me a water and to go sit in the cool air while they did a quick check. Not even 10 minutes later, they came in and said it was just a blown fuse and I'm good to go! My husband realized our van was leaking fluid onto the parking lot after he came home from work one night, and this place was close to us and still open so he took it in and we left it there overnight. They had it fixed by the next day (less than 24 hours), and the estimate was lower than originally quoted by about $25 (it says "News Letter discount" on the receipt). I took my son car to this place to have the steering column replaced. I was charged a lot of money for it. I called back to inform them the steering column was defective and was told they knew it was only a temporary until they cam find a new one. That was almost a year ago and three NEW owners later. I requested a partial refund from the newest owner and as I have been treated in the past put off once again. I only want what is fair. They gave me a warranty and now won't live up to it. read more

I use to refer people to Leavitt AutoCare, but realized now they have new owners and it's not the same shop anymore. We've been trying to get our money back on a part Leavitt's quoted us on, but never put in ($1500. job). They were supposed to fix the head gasket, but ended up just charging us the same amount of money and fixing little things like the spark plugs and never did fix the head gasket. We have used Leavitt's Auto Care a few times and have been extremely happy with their service and prices. The most recent visit it turned out we needed a new transmission for our Dodge Grand Caravan and they were able to give me a quote right away. I checked with a few other shops to make sure I wasn't getting robbed and they came in several hundred less, so that made me happy. They were done by the next day. While they were fixing the van they noticed a few areas that needed service and asked if I wanted to take care of those while they had the transmission out. I knew about a couple of the problems and was happy to have them fix them at that time. They didn't charge me for more labor since they were already working on the van. It was great getting our van back. Sadly, the next week we were leaving for California to celebrate Thanksgiving and our battery light came on (replacing the battery didn't fix the problem). We needed a new alternator and they were willing to squeeze us in that day to make sure we could enjoy our holiday with family. They are super nice and I recommend them to all my friends in need of automotive service. read more

If I could, I would give them a negative infinity rating. This is the worst place to take your vehicles. I warn you. They misdiagnosed my car. Completely waisted my time. They tried to have me purchase a whole new engine from them , when all my car needed was a simple starter . Then after I said I could not afford another engine they said it was my timing belt. My timing belt was fine, my engine was fine. They misdiagnosed my car and tried to rip me off. The former owners were the Leavitt's. Very great people, they sold the shop and these new people kept the name but are nothing but con artists. I found out that another person went there thinking it was the real Leavitt's but it wasn't , and all they needed was an oil change and they wanted this person as well to buy an engine with them as well. This place is a joke but we are not laughing!!!!! Stay far away from this place. They need to change their name and be shut down!!!!!! read more

Honest and sweet people. Had my AC shut down on me and car started over heating. Of course I was extremely worried and called to see if I could bring my car in. Jim was wonderful and told me to bring her over right away. They were able to diagnose and get it fixed in a couple days. Probably would've been able to get it back a little faster but Jim said he didn't like the look of the replacement radiator and wanted to get a better one for me. I had taken my Eclipse in because the AC light was flashing and my AC wasn't blowing any cold air. First they replaced my condessor (sp?) and it worked for a few days but then it started acting up again (same symptoms with the flashing light and no cold air) so I took it back and they figured out that it was my AC computer module. Because I had to come back they only charged me for the computer module, they did not charge me any labor to put it in!!!! My AC works beautifully and I was very happy with the professionalism and level of customer service I received. I even recommended them to my coworker whose AC in her Jetta went out and they fixed it without any additional issues. read more
