They both were really dry, so we asked for some tatziki sauce for the schwarma sandwich which was packed with meat, although a bit light on any veggies. They also brought some tahini sauce for the falafel which was really helpful. I only wish that they could bring this at first rather than having us ask for this. Decent Lebanese food located in the mall, was not too bad. The restaurant was 95% full, even after 8pm. I was lucky to grab the last seat in the house. I was seated for a bit and the waiter finally showed up, I hurried my order before he left. I ordered the lamb shank and a fruit refresher. The drink came after another 15 min with a glass of water. They offered some fresh hot pita bread that was really good. The lamb shank finally came and it was nicely seasoned, I wish they had a bit more veggy with the entree but overall very good dish. The Lebanese Taverna at Tysons is a very popular and busy place. The staff's energy is always on 100. I feel like ai am on vacation when I eat here. The atmosphere is authentic and the food is fabulous. My favorite dis will always be the SHRIMP ARAK because the flavor is out of this world, all of the appetizers are delicious. I am always full off of the bread and appetizers. I end up Taking my main course home. It just allows to eat more the Lebanese later or the next day. I come to Lebanese Taverna in Tysons Corner at least twice a month, and it's consistently one of my go-to spots for a satisfying Mediterranean meal. I almost always order the Lebanese Taverna Platter--it never disappoints. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great place to sit down and relax, whether you're dining solo or with a group. It does tend to get pretty crowded during lunch hours, and while the servers are friendly and professional, they can sometimes seem a bit overwhelmed with the volume of guests. This can lead to short periods where you feel a little unattended--not unpleasant, just noticeable. That said, once you do get their attention, the service is attentive and courteous. One of the highlights is definitely the fresh, warm bread that they serve--it's always a treat. I ordered the chicken samosa & the fries for the appetizers. They both were delish!!! I want to go back and try other dishes on their menu. They are located in Tyson's 2 (Galleria). Sat at the bar and had apps but wow. Excellent service, fresh hot bread to go with some delicious samplers from the Taste of Lebanon Chef's Platter and the Kibbeh Nayyeh(?). Everything was so tasty and flavorful I can't believe we haven't been here before. The kibbeh Nayeh was insane, if you are a steak tartare fan, it is delicious here. Came here with a large group (15) for a work dinner. When I read the other reviews I was not excited, but they definitely exceeded my expectations! The restaurant has a good ambiance. Nice decor and doesn't feel like it's in the mall. The server was friendly and made recommendations, answered all questions with ease and kept our drinks full all evening! It is Mediterranean fare and we had it served family style and everything was so fresh! The appetizers/small pates were so good! My favorite was the M'saka. Be prepared, it is cold, but I want more just thinking about it now! Falafel was not dry, hummus and dips were quite good. I personally was not a huge fan of the kibbeh, but I think that's just personal taste/texture preference. I would've preferred a bit more bulgur in the Tabouleh. Main course was just meat and onions and dip. The best dip turned out to be straight up pressed garlic. I've never seen/had garlic that texture so had asked what it was, imagine my shock when the dip turned out to be just garlic! The meat was cooked well, in that there was pink in the beef and chicken was cooked through. For dessert we ordered a few orders of donuts and Knafe, along with some baklava. It was all very good. The Knafe was super interesting in that it wasn't very sweet but I kept going back to it. The sesame "roll" with it gave it a nice depth. When visiting our old haunts in NoVA, we never fail to visit Lebanese Taverna - it is one of the best Lebanese Restos in Northern Viriginia. Our last visit to the area was no different, we stopped in for a late afternoon dinner of some of their fab Lebanese dishes. In 1979 Beirut natives Tanios and Marie Abi-Najm established and began offering what has been for decades some of the cuisine anywhere in all their Northern Virginia locations. As former Northern Virginia residents, we would visit frequently. Now as Phoenicians, we visit the Taverna at every opportunity we visit the area. On our last visit we were astonished with their terrific Pumpkin Kibbeh, one of best Falafels in the area and the mouthwatering Mujaddara. In the years patronizing this establishment we had the opportunity to truly enjoy ourselves with the likes of Fatteh Lamb, an exquisite dish of yogurt, Pine Nuts, Chickpeas, pine nuts and Pomegranates, or the Lebanese Rice Pilaf with fab Grilled Tomato, or a fantastic Chicken Curry including potato, bell pepper, Coconut Milk, Chili Pepper, coconut milk, and Mango chutney, as well as Salmon Harra, other Mujaddara with lamb (my fave) or chicken and many more scrumptious offerings. We stopped by Lebanese Taverna after Church and were pleasantly surprised. This place is tucked inside Tysons Galleria, with a pretty spacious area to dine. The service was very pleasant, however extremely slow. It was decently busy, but it took about 45 minutes after being sat to get anything at all. That was really our only qualm. The food however was delicious! We tried the appetizer sampler, which had 9 different small dishes to sample. A few different flavors of hommus, salads, falafel and many others. Each were individually yummy! The entire platter was quite filling! We also tried the kafta sandwich and that was great as well! Overall nice place to try if you're in the area and have the time! I have been to the two Lebanese Tavernas in Rockville and they both are not this fancy! Both Rockville locations have the order-at-the-counter type of establishment so this was not what I was expecting. Here we have a sit down with nice dishes and silverware type of place. Service was a little slow for an early dinner around 5:00 p.m. Not too many guests at that time on a Saturday evening. We ordered appetizers and still waited some time for our main meals to be brought. I got french fries as the appetizer and I love the garlic dipping sauce that comes with it. My main dish was the lamb kabob entree with included several chunks of lamb, roasted vegetables, and rice pilaf. Definitely a filling meal. Everything was well prepared. Had dinner here with some co workers recently after a corporate event. It was later, around 8 PM, on a Thursday and they were pretty busy. The other restaurants nearby didn't seem to have much business. We had the baba ghanoush and calamari for starters. They were pretty good but not amazing. I had the kabob platter for my entree. I was happy with the amount of food. Most of the kabobs were pretty tender and moist. Flavor was good, but again, not the best I've had in the area. I loved the bread they provided. Since it's conveniently located in the mall, I'd stop by again. Service was ok and the place has a more upscale but still somewhat casual feel. read more

We came back to this restaurant in Tysons 2 after a trip to Tyson's 1. After a little bit of haggling, they gave us a booth rather than a small table in the middle for a party of four. The food we ordered was tasty although the service was not great For example, the bread came 10 minutes before the hummus came, then it took another 30 minutes for the meals to be delivered and then further it took them 20 extra minutes to get us our check after we had finished eating. I sat at the bar and had a Syrah which was very soft and delicious!! The bartender who also took my order was very warm and inviting. He recommended the Salmon Harrah and it was delicious! Very well seasoned. It came with a rice that had some tomato flavors and other seasonings, some squash, onion, and a red sauce on the side. Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and very yummy!! I went for lunch with a very good friend--a midday repast often resigned to the tyranny of speed and indifference--but what we encountered was a composition of refinement that belied the hour. We entered without reservation, quite literally, and were met not by chaos nor delay, but rather a seamless reception that suggested either uncanny luck or a rigorously managed operation. The interior, to speak plainly, is handsomely appointed--its cleanliness conspicuous, its lighting a masterstroke of balance. Not dim to the point of mystery, nor glaring in its declaration. One is neither flattered nor blinded, merely situated--comfortably--within it. The ambiance is undeniably upscale. But not ostentatiously so. It breathes the cultivated air of a place that knows what it is, and more importantly, what it is not. One notes with appreciation the music, present yet unobtrusive, allowing the rare luxury of conversation unmarred by acoustic violence. Now to service--a topic so often the undoing of even the most promising establishments. Here, however, one must allow oneself a moment of commendation. The staff operated with a vigilance bordering on the clairvoyant. A mere glance in the server's direction sufficed to summon their attention, at which point water, bread, or assistance of any culinary variety appeared as though conjured. And they were not automatons of politeness, mind you, but rather informed stewards of their culinary patrimony. Our inquiries--sincere if modest--were met with fluency and, dare I say, pride. To matters gustatory. We began with the Hommus Trio--a modest nomenclature for a triumvirate of flavor that would not have been out of place in a Levantine banquet. Each preparation was distinct yet harmonious, a trifecta of texture and taste. For the main course, I elected the LT Burger, which I approached with anticipation and departed from with admiration. It was, in the full sense of the term, perfect. Beverage service consisted only of sparkling water--a choice not borne of austerity but preference--and even in this, the presentation was crisp and considered. There was nothing on the table, I confess, that merited reproach. Indeed, there was nothing on the menu that struck me as incoherent or carelessly arranged. It was a culinary map, written clearly and rooted in place. As for price, one cannot say it was low, but that is quite beside the point. It was fair, and more importantly, it was proportionate. I have paid far more for far less, and with far greater regret. In this case, my friend--generous soul that he is--insisted on covering the bill, which rendered the experience even more delightful, though I would have gladly paid for it myself. Would I return? I would. And with a modicum of enthusiasm not commonly associated with Tysons Corner. The portion sizing is also very large, so you may have to take boxes to go! The lamb fatteh is has a very creamy white sauce, but the problem with it is that the pita chips will get stale/soggy quickly, so you have to eat fast. The mixed grill was a very balanced meal with a variety of meats (chicken, lamb, kafka) and well roasted veggies. To go order for 2 sandwiches: Got a chicken shawarma and lamb shawarma sandwich. While the meat within the sandwich was decent, there was nothing else in the sandwich. For the $18 x 2 price paid plus tip, a good shawarma sandwich is what I expect which would include at a minimum tzatziki sauce, lettuce/onions/tomatoes/herbs. I did get a side salad which was useful to make the sandwich tastier but my friend got a side of rice which wasn't useful to make the sandwich better. What a fun weekend lunch! We shared a variety of apps, which allowed us to try multiple dishes. The spicy hummus with amazing naan was seasoned perfectly and drizzled with fresh olive oil. He simply brought the credit card machine and told us the bill and asked how much tip we are going to pay - which we selected 20%. It is very much in a mall, but they manage to keep the dining space fun and restaurant-y regardless. It is probably the most high end location that I have been to.
