I go to the Block every Friday and get my employees to join me. I think it is one of the best Lebanese cuisines around. I benchmark everything with the food I've had in Lebanon. But the last few weeks I have gone there it seems they have had change in staff. The friendly faces we are used to seeing from pervious staff are not there any longer and the orders have been all wrong. I would like to see the old management and staff return and hopefully get back to its original friendly service. The best thing about this establishment among their fresh baked breads, pies, etc is the fact that they serve Salaam Cola and do not fund the zionist movement! The food we ordered came out within 20 minutes of ordering. The fresh made bread comes out hot and perfectly done! We ordered egg shaksuka, falafel, plate of pickles, labne, and one cheese manaeesh. Perfect for late night Eats, fresh food with authentic flavors. The lamb is so tender it literally falls off the bone. Service was great! Very friendly staff and we received our food quickly. They have 2 sides, one for just dining and the other side seems to be for food/lounging which stays open alittle later. They also have easy parking and pretty cool decor in the inside. read more

Very misleading advertising and staff does not fully wear masks. The food does NOT match the appetizing photos featured on the website or the brochures. The pizza is NOT wood-fired. I beamed when I saw a large pile of small wooden logs next to the oven, but to my dismay and disappointment, the staff member simply pressed a button and the oven heated up with propane gas. No logs in the oven. I felt bamboozled. Red Flag #1 While waiting for the pizza, I noticed several staff members partially wearing masks to cover their mouth but not their noses. A couple of members didn't even wear masks working in the kitchen. Red Flag #2 Hubby ordered a Neapolitan Margherita Pizza and received a cheese pizza with no basil and shredded mozzarella cheese. Not at all like the scrumptious Margherita Pizza with fresh cheese and basil advertised online. The cheap tasteless pizza was a total let down. Reg Flag #3 The Spinach Pide was the highlight of the meal with diced onions and spinach with lots of bold spices and smothered in cheese. Very authentic and did match the menu description. Not all the items are made fresh to order. The falafels are frozen and the mini pizzas and savory pastries look stale sitting in the glass display case. The staff is a bit stand-off and the hours should be clearly posted on the website particularly during Ramadan. Before I left yesterday, I checked on Google and confirmed that the restaurant was still open around 8pm. However when I got there, the staff snickered and apathetically informed me the restaurant closed a 1/2 hour ago for the Ramadan buffet next door at Sir sandwich shop (which was packed!). I left disappointed and after giving them another shot the next day, the "Margherita" pizza left much to be desired. While the Spinach Pides are tasty, I feel shafted by the misleading advertising and lack of Covid precautions. Won't be coming back! read more

We ordered a veggie pizza and my husband thought it was great. I thought it was fine. Would like to try the zaatar and cheese pies. I saw people picking up orders for parties. Free tea and we bought a Turkish drink from a cooler. The kitchen makes food for the business next door SIR. It's a hookah bar and was hopping. I can't comment much about the food and service here, as I ordered through door dash. Though food wise I was disappointed. I ordered the schwarma platter, which was ok, but the meat was definitely dry and lacked flavor. I also tried my friends Pide and Schwarma wrap and their food was also dry and lacked flavor. I had to add extra seasoning like Sumac, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Very disappointed with the new style of the shawarma sandwiches. The Block now uses a hoagie style roll instead of Lebanese bread. Also, the sandwich was served without French fries--this is another change. Please revert back to using the Lebanese bread for a shawarma sandwich. Otherwise don't call it a shawarma sandwich. It when you stand at the cash register to not be acknowledged at all, so you leave and go next door to be told to go stand at the same cashier that refuses to acknowledge you. It becomes difficult to then navigate how to actually purchase a meal from this place. Guess I wasn't the 'right' kind of customer. This is a fairly new eatery in Tysons. Pro: Ordered the Sfiha Pie, Lahm Bi Ajin Manaeesh, Kafta, Veggie Platter (not received), and Baklava. Their website and menu looked like a great carry out option. Reasonably priced $39 for all of the food. Con: Part of the order was not provided, when I called, they reacted as if I was at fault my food was not provided (rude). When I asked for a refund, I was told to contact the company from their personal website to issue the return. The baklava was a joke for $5, and the hair in the rice found in the kafta dish took the cake! Overall, work on your customer service, take ownership and make it right. Lastly, wear a hairnet when fixing your food, it will prevent food hair in the future. Charge $2.50 for your baklava, that was a joke. read more

Super underrated Lebanese spot, but it's small so I'm glad there weren't too many people haha. Delicious, cheap, and so many options! I wanted everything. My friends and I shared the potato appetizer with pita- it's got a little kick to it! And the za'atar and yogurt flat bread- za'atar is so freaking good. Apparently it improves your memory... The food is delicious. We've been here many times and it never disappoints. Do yourself a favor and order online for pickup. The parking situation is horrible (a towing company will tow your car if you park in the wrong spot). Their service is friendly but they are truly understaffed so you don't get any attention. You're lucky if they bring you plates (just get up and get them yourself). Also few tables in the restaurant so just order to go. We've ordered the kibbeh, manaeesh with zatar, spinach, meat, cheese and all have been delicious. The hummus is good but the bread that accompanies it is even better. Free tea! read more

Love love love!!! This place is fairly new. I have been wanting to try it for a while. I finally tried it today. The idea is a Lebanese-Turkish market/food center. They are going for more of a butcher vibe with food as well. They have an all day breakfast menu which is amazing! It reminds me of the Turkish breakfast we would have back in Istanbul. They have wood fired pizzas, kabob and chicken platers, spinach pies, meat pies, cheese pies, about 7 or more different kinds of dips, 5+ different salads, appetizers, flatbreads, calzones and sandwiches! My favorite menu items are: for mezza I love the lubia which is a string bean stew. And I LOVE the Batata Harra which is potatoes, garlic and cilantro. The spinach Pida is another favorite item of mine! I also really like the zaatar pie. Now.. their breakfast menu is on another level! If I could recommend everything on there I would! It's an all day menu. My favorite item from the breakfast menu is the Kalayat Bandora- it's a veggie based item. It's made with tomatoes, peppers, onions and spices, it's served with a side of fresh baked bread. It does not come with potatoes but I always add potatoes to mine. It's so good I wouldn't mind eating it any time of the day back to back for days! -they also have a small area that's like a mini market where they sell their traditional food items. Misleading and not accurate on online app for ordering delivery on Yelp. I called the restaurant because I was confused to why our meals didn't come with rice. She was so focused on making sure that we knew it wasn't their fault instead of trying to fix the issue! As New Yorkers, we expect our kabob dishes to just come with rice.... but lady told us that they do not come with rice. What kinda place sell kabobs with no rice?!?!?!?!?! Yo that is so mind-blowing to me when rice is essential to kabobs. Hella confused and do not recommend for people that have eaten at kabob places that automatically serve rice with their dishes. They have a scam running at this restaurant with the owner of the building and the valet and a towing company located across the street. If you pull up late at night, 1030pm for me all the parking spots are taken even though there is no one but me in the restaurant. Every open spot says reserved to the other business attached this building. It's 1030pm they are all closed. Why would anyone valet when it's 10ft to walk into restaurant at this time of night. Valet will watch you park not say anything. Order your food and 5 minutes later comes in to let you know your car is being towed. They don't actually want to tow your car they want you to pay the drop fee. Tow company was waiting for me outside. They know what they're doing. Employees in restaurant claim this happens often. Stay away from this restaurant. Oh and food is garbage, dry and gross. read more

They skimped the meat inside which was half bread half meat. The sub was also burnt which masked the flavor and gave it a bitter after taste. Decided to give The Block a try because I saw they had Zaatar on the menu and had seen Guy Fieri try it on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Food Network show). While it was a unique experience, I might have gone in with too high of expectations based off of how much Guy enjoyed the dish but it didn't exactly 'wow' me as I was hoping. Tried two of the different Manaeesh (thin crust Mediterranean flat breads): the Lahm Bi Ajin (ground beef, onion, parsley) and Zaatar (dry thyme, sesame, olive oil). Both were fairly cheap for the size, $4.99 and $3.50 respectively, and was plenty of food for one person together. I personally enjoyed the Zaatar more even without any meat because it had better flavor and texture, while the Lahm Bi Ajin had a strong gamey taste and got pretty soggy. I recommend asking them to leave both in the oven extra if you're looking for that crispy crust you get from wood-fire oven pizza. This place is for sure interesting and very different from anything else in the area. Giving it 3 stars because I really have nothing else to compare it to. Will be back to give it another try and try a few other dishes. read more
