An electrician had inspected it a week before and said it was good to hang if that were done. But when we took it to Sunlighting Lamp and Shade the lady who wrote up the paperwork (and did not give us a receipt, we later realised) said the fixture might need a complete rewiring job. We said we'd pay a service fee for it to be looked at. We weren't then sure we wanted to pay $300 to rewire the chandelier. They said they'd call to get an OK before doing any work. 2 weeks later they called and said the chandelier was ready to be picked up. They had rewired it and the bill was $300. They had not called as they agreed. In a strange phone call one of the women who run the shop told me if we didn't want to pay for the rewiring job they'd sell our chandelier. So my husband immediately went to the shop to pay for the job and retrieve our chandelier. She refused to give it to him saying 'the owner would decide and call him in the morning'. The next morning my husband didn't get a call so he drove over to Sunlighting Lamp and Shade Center. He intended to pay the bill and get our lighting fixture. Without having gotten our permission -again!- they had cut the wires from the chandelier, undoing the work they said they had done! So we can't hang the chandelier because they cut the hanging wire in some sort of fit! We were willing to have paid despite their unprofessional way of doing business but we weren't allowed the option! This has been a terribly disappointing experience. No way to do business at all.
