Blinded by a whiteout snowstorm and no other open restaurants, our hunger was satiated by Ledo. Quick to place an order at the counter and wait for carry-out; only took about 15 minutes from ordering to walking out the door with our piping-hot order to feed 8 adults. Front counter girl was efficient and friendly. Your mind won't be blown by the atmosphere or the food itself, but Ledo does have a surprisingly-varied menu selection; it's more than just pizza. They even cater to the gluten-free crowd as well as the vegan/no cheese crowd with their Viva la Vegan pizza, which we ordered and definitely enjoyed. Square pizza is their thing, and there are two sizes. Our crowd definitely enjoyed the big square covered in sausage and pepperoni, and it didn't get soggy, quite a feat for a big greasy meaty pizza. Hubby and I ordered chili as well, which tasted great while we were eating it, as did the vegan and non-vegan pizza. However, there must be a serious sodium quotient in the chili and/or the pizza. Not sure if it was just the chili, or compensating on the non-buttery vegan crust by adding lots of extra Na, but we were both waking up throughout the night to down H2O, and into the next day (no, we didn't drink that night). As a native of Washington DC, I have heard the ads on the radio praising Ledo Pizza along the likes of " WTOP traffic if fueled by... They are, My friends and I stopped by this location before checking into our rental unit at Wisp this past week. It was a Tuesday so that had a great deal going on . Any two calzones for 9.99 regular price of 6.50 so you and a buddy, or date or what ever can easily get some good food for cheap. Girlfriend had the Buffalo chicken Calzone which was interesting and very tasty. Unique in a way because they simply took the regular pizza sauce and added some buffalo sauce to it, rather then having it stuffed with a wing sauce which is what I was originally expecting. It was very tasty. And the size was was big enough for her to take it home for dinner later. I myself had the "Meats" which was stuffed with sausage, pepperoni and some ham? maybe not sure but it was good, filled with creamy soft ricotta cheese, and I devoured it quickly. The beer here is cheap, which is good, much better then what I would expect for a resort town. the prices on the rest of the menu items were decent. If for some reason you want to have chicken tenders you can get them for 4.99 pretty tasty to boot as well. IF you are looking for good pizza, that hits the spot and you don't want to drive all the way to Brendas down by the lake, then this is the place you should go. Friendly service, cheap, good food. My review would be 4 stars but loses one for the rude girl at the checkout register. The food is delicious and they give you so much and it's cheap. The service is mediocre. Our waitress forgot to put our order in and said it was the computers fault -saw her laughing about it with another waitress. When we went up front to checkout the girl didn't even tell me the total or what change she was handing me. She also didn't thank us, which really got under my skin. My friends and I went to the bathroom after we paid and our boyfriends went outside ...when we were walking back thru the dining room the checkout girl and our waitress were clearly talking about us. Despite the more than generous tip we still left her. When the place isn't run by 20 something girls it will be better. read more

I must say this was the best restaurant experience in McHenry! It wasn't mind-blowing food, it was pretty standard, but after a week of sad experiences this one was positive! We started with the wings - they were incredibly tender but super crispy & the sauce tasted great (ragin cajun I believe it was). We got a couple of glasses of wine....super cheap. I think maybe $4? It was Yellow Tail, so nothing spectacular, but certainly drinkable. The pizza was pretty good, but not what I expected. It was rectangular, was square cut, and was brought out on a lunch-type tray. It tasted fine.....we ordered the margherita and there was no fresh mozzarella anywhere in sight. Ah well. If we do return to McHenry we'll come here for sure! read more

Don't go here if you're a local. Apparently they only cater to the tourons. We put our name on the list to be seated, two guys walk in 5 minutes later. The manager walks up to them and seats them immediately. They did not have a reservation, just walked in. He then asked us how many. Love this place. Locally owned family business has the best steak and cheese at Deep Creek. Get this... Its the ONLY Ledo pizza of the roughly 130 locations that offers an all you can eat Lunch buffet! Buffet runs from 11-1:30 mon-fri (and sunday i think). Buffet is $8.49.. wow... New recipe soups are well made and rotate daily. The chicken noodle is especially good. Get a bowl, its a meal in itself. One of the few Ledo pizza restaurants with a nice bar area and full liquor license...Bar area has a bigscreen tv for sports, and is separate from the main dining area. read more

Today my family and friends drove up from Cumberland, MD to tube at the Wisp and eat here. We had a reservation for a big party but 11 of us decided to come eat earlier. The waitresses acted like they have NEVER seen a big party before and were complaining we were there 50 minutes early - even though there was plenty of seating. All the waitresses stood at the drink station giving us dirty looks and took forever for us to get served. They sent three different waitresses for three different tables. Tables that ordered after us around the restaurant received their food first, got great service, and to top off the night, food was cold. I'm not impressed at all and would not recommend this place to anyone. Also, it's the beginning of March. Why is the heat off/ac on? Training the employees to say "you're welcome" instead of "yep" would get them a bigger tip. Also had no idea how to pay - waitress didn't say anything as she handed out our receipts. Ps. Tucked away in the heart of Deep Creek Lake at the McHenry plaza is Ledo Pizza. The restaurant blends so well with the other businesses in the plaza it could be easily overlooked. This is a full service restaurant complete with bar. The decor is better than one might expect from a chain pizza joint and we soon found that pizza may be the specialty but the rest of the menu items proved quite satisfying. Immediately greeted and promptly seated we noticed the establishment was clean and comfortable. Square pizza made with fresh ingredients helped insure a good rating. The reviewers agreed that chain restaurants were not usually high on the list of places to eat when choosing for personal reasons. The entree salads are huge and the wings crispy hot and hot. The cheese steak was well stuffed and seasoned perfectly. An order of spaghetti and meat balls proved adequate but not out of this world. Friendly efficient service and very reasonable pricing along with a convenient location left the impression that this is a place not to forget when considering a quick bite in a family friendly place. I do not recommend going here. There are far better options with better service to choose from. We ordered online and the wait time was 35 min. When we called they said it would be 45 minutes. When we showed up at the 45 minute mark, they said it would be another 25 minutes. After I checked back in after 25 minutes, they said 10 minutes. And finally after another 15 minutes of waiting we got our food! The pizza itself was pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but good. The wings were absolutely disgusting, top 3 worst wings I've ever had (in their defense the wings sat out on the counter for 20+ minutes). Do not waste your time coming here to eat. We read some other reviews and sounded as if the pizza was good here, however we found the complete opposite. The pizza here is so bad! To the point where we did not even take the leftovers with us and left hungry. As we went to pay, we saw the server charged us $5 to add cheese on our pizza, which she mentioned absolutely nothing about. Racist. We were passing through on vacation and wanted to grab a bite to eat on the way home so we stopped here. Big mistake. It ruined the last part of our trip. The hostess was shifty-eyed and tried to tell us we had to wait 40min for a table when tables were empty. She was nasty toward us right off the bat for no reason we could see other than that brown skin didn't mesh with her idea of human beings. They don't get many folks of color out in these parts so I guess it's par for the course. If you are not of European descent, just pack food with you or just drive 1hr east and eat fast food. They have a nice selection of pizzas and then of course you can create your own. Their crust is different from other pizza places in that it is flakey and light, not heavy and doughy. This was disappointing from the beginning. We called at 7pm to place an order. We were told it would be at least an hour wait. I placed my pick up order. When my daughter went to pick it up an hour later she was told there was no order under my name. She called me and I spoke to the hostess. The hostess confirmed that she remembered taking my order, yet the order was not processed. I asked to speak to the manager and he confirmed their error and offered 20% off. My daughter had to wait an additional 30 minutes. When the order was ready, there was no 20% discount offered. In addition the pizza was mediocre at best and the breadsticks were undercooked. Side salad was mainly a head of lettuce with cherry tomatoes and a giant handful of Parmesan cheese. Spaghetti and meatballs wasn't much better. Meatballs were dry and "melded" together. To top off the evening, when I went to take my lid off for a refill there was a giant gnat in it. When I went up to pay and showed the waitress, her only response was "Do you want a new drink?" Just finished having dinner at Ledo. My husband and I both ordered the "Southside" cheese steak with a bowl of soup on the side. The ciabatta roll was crusty on the outside, soft on the inside and perfectly toasted. The portion of steak was generous but a little thick and chewy for my taste. I walked in to order takeout food and a lady came out of the kitchen and said, "Burger King is up the street if you're hungry". LOVE the buffalo chicken salad, which I like to order with grilled chicken. The sauce comes on the side, so don't forget to add it. I also like their chicken subs a LOT! I'm not really a fan of their pizza, and that's why I didn't give them 5 stars. I think pizzas should be round and should have a thicker crust. The staff is really nice though and even though they don't carry Cherry Coke, they will make you one using Grenadine. I usually get take out just because I like to eat at home. read more

I was there yesterday with friends we ordered an appetizer of calamari and it was terrible. It was way over done,more than half of it was unidentifiable with only a few pieces edible. We complained but they refused to take it off the bill. Pizza was ok except they put raw green pepper on it. We've noticed varying quality in some of the Ledo franchises but this was one of the good ones. Ordered online and our food was ready right on time, still hot. The precooked bacon was great, nice and crispy, more crumbly than I've had at other locations where it's more chunk like.
