Our server immediately got water to the table and our drink order. From there, the excellent service continued. Our group mostly ordered steak or ribs, with everyone being happy with their order. I ordered medium rare, it was overcooked and dry. No juicyness at all. I suspect it wasn't even bison. The cheese didn't seem to be gruyere either.Then the house chips were fried in last weeks oil and run through a salt bath. I think i cracker a toothpick on a chip. We've been eating here for years, mostly off the bar menu, which is a little less expensive than the main one. Burgers, soups, salads, hand-food. And you've always needed to bring in a little understanding. Service has always been frantic and a little slow (I think they understaff) but the food has generally been good. But the past year, maybe, it's been more miss than hit. The food's not what it was, like the kitchen is just as frantic as the wait staff or a chef left or something happened. It's not terrible but it's missing a beat--not enough seasoning in the burgers, cream of crab soup (which used to be really outstanding) that's more potatoes than crab. Kind of like when your gramma stops cooking and your aunt takes over--she's trying but it's not the same. I hope they get their gramma back or fix whatever's going on. We were new to the area and unfamiliar with the restaurant and didn't realize a reservation was needed for the fine dining area. The hostess was kind and informed us that the menu was the same and offered us seating in the bar room. We were met with a kind and patient waitress that explained the menu and offered recommendations, even though she was quite busy. Four of us went for dinner on a Wednesday night in February. The lowest floor of the restaurant was open with minimal seating. However, since there weren't many patrons, it made sense. At point the 4 of us were the only ones there, but waitress was not that attentive. When our meals came out, one of them wasn't correct, she ordered a crab flatbread and received a steak flatbread. Diner decided not to change. Three steaks were ordered medium, served medium rare. Steaks were minimally warm and cooled rapidly since the restaurant was cold. One diner ordered broccoli which came out lukewarm. The diner who ordered the flatbread ordered French fries, and never received them. We asked for bread for the meal, and the waitress seemed flustered and hesitated saying she thought she could do that. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

I rarely leave reviews because I am a naturally positive and understanding person. I usually move on when my expectations aren't met, but I simply cannot do that after my experience at Pine Lodge Steakhouse. I'm giving this one star only because zero isn't an option. To preface this: my entire family was in perfect health before walking into this restaurant. We chose this place because of its reputation as "Best in Garrett County," but after our meal, I honestly suspect those awards were bought. The Drinks & Value For $30 a plate, you expect quality. Instead, we got paper napkins and watered-down cocktails. The "Rum Punch" tasted like red-colored water, and the "Watermelon Margarita" tasted like a watered-down Jolly Rancher. We seriously doubted there was any alcohol in either. The Food (The Worst Part) The portions are small and the quality is unacceptable: Crab Stuffed Shrimp: My brother received six overcooked shrimp with a tablespoon of undercooked crab mixture that was full of shells. He didn't even make it to the car before he started throwing up. This is a kid who eats everything and has a "stomach of steel," so for him to be that sick is telling. The Steaks: My parents' steaks were completely unseasoned, and the sides were larger than the actual cuts of meat. The Burgers: My brother and I had sandwiches; I ordered a medium burger that arrived well-done and cold. At the very least, it was "safe" to eat, which is a low bar to set. The Service The environment felt toxic. The servers clearly did not want to be there. Our server was visibly upset by a lack of communication in the kitchen and actually made snarky comments about it while taking our order. Even though we were kind and tried to make her job as easy as possible because she looked overwhelmed, it still felt like we were a burden. Final Verdict: Save your money and your health. Had a reservation for a fairly large group. Every guy in our group got steak and all but one steak was correctly cooked. The cuts of meat weren't even that warm and one guy was given fries when he ordered onion rings. They said "we are out of onion rings so we just gave you fries". Ordered a filet that was 40+ Dollars. No flavor whatsoever. Mac and cheese was terrific. Manager Shannon was very accommodating to our complaints. Shannon is a certified assistant very good manager and she is the right person for the job at this restaurant. The kitchen on the other hand needs to season the meat because it has none at all. The BBQ ribs here are absolutely amazing! I wasn't expecting them to be this good at a steakhouse. You get a 1 and 1/2 racks of baby backs. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The sauce had just the right balance of sweet and tangy! The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. We had a great experience at Pine Lodge Steakhouse last evening. Our group ranged in age from 4-70 and there was something for all. The food was very good from steaks, fish, salads and kids meals. Our waitress, Jamie, was probably the best waitress I've had anywhere. Totally recommend trying out. read more

The food was not great for the price. I wouldn't say it was bad but I expected better. The service was pretty good. It was a little slow but we had a larger group so it wasn't abnormal. The dippers were incredibly good, but the bagged style chips ruined the ambience here - just go with the house made dippers. Ok I'll stop saying dippers now. We also shared the French onion soup which was okay but the onions were not cooked down enough. For my meal I ordered a steak with vegetables - which was good - wasn't medium but that was okay. The food was ok at best. I ordered the cream of crab soup which had practically no crab in it. The hamburger was okay but nothing special. The restaurant itself was festive and looked nice but the service was not good. It was 2 hours before closing on a Wednesday, and the seating was a seat yourself arrangement. There was no staff walking around whatsoever on either floor. At first we sat upstairs and were not attended to for 10 minutes, so then we moved downstairs where we waited until the bartender had to take our order. No wait for dinner on a Thursday. Very nice atmosphere from the music to decorations. Very clean. Food was yummy and we loved the bread that is served when you wait for your food. The only negative thing we noticed is we did not seem to get the same attention as those around us who were drinking/ needing drink refills. I feel as if we were drinking service would've been much better, but we do not drink. Our waitress who was serving almost all around us visited them and checked on them a great deal of times, but only checked on us maybe twice. We had an amazing time. The place is super cozy, and has that cabin like feel which I loved. The food was delicious, for appetizer we ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon, the bacon could've been a little bit more crispy, but it was still good. For entrees we ordered the trailboss porter house steak, the crab stuffed shrimp, and the outlaw pasta the meat was full of flavor and tender, the shrimp and the pasta were also delicious. I can't remember the name of the person who took care of us I want to say it was Ian or Ethan, but he did a great job, he was pretty busy with a party bigger than ours; but he still made sure we were taken care of. He came back to check on us often, and kept us updated on the status of our order. We will definitely be going back. read more

I'd give this place six stars if I could. The deck space is nice and spacious. Our waitress was a doll. If she couldn't make it over, someone else did and they all helped each other out. We didn't feel rushed at any point and we felt really taken care of. I'm not a prime rib person but we ordered the prime rib bites appetizer because my husband was drooling. SO GOOD. So good. Get them. The seasoning on the rice, the drizzle on top. I could go on. I ordered the cranberry Apple salad and added chicken. I'm a salad snob because I order so many and this really ticked all my boxes. Fresh lettuce and fruits, enough cheese, the chicken was warm and tender and the dressing was awesome. My husband wanted more prime rib so he ordered that as dinner with a baked potato and totally enjoyed it the second time. Once we were done, we hung around for another drink and were never made to feel rushed to go. Out of all of the places we stopped to have dinner in Deep Creek, this was hands down my favorite. Once you get past the tacky T-shirt shop when you walk in, with such memorable T-shirt's as 'I'd hit that' with a golf ball in the middle, the dining room itself is cute and lodgey. My entree, Jumbo shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, and a 'lavish' lobster sauce, for $28. The problem is, the 'jumbo shrimp' were not exactly jumbo, We are talking small shrimp from something like a mid-level shrimp scampi, with a small dollop of crab meat. The 'lavish lobster sauce' was forgettable at best. It was accompanied by 7 over-cooked new carrots. Order the wedge salad, it was good! But the $20 crab cake add on, was just okay, but twice the price it should have been. However, the staff was very warm and attentive. Bottom line; over priced for the quality. read more

My wife and I have eaten there 3 times over our last 3 visits to the Deep Creek area. I'm a fan of their Legendary Creamy Crab Soup. Very delicious. I am also a fan of their mushroom caps. Fresh, warm loaves of bread and sweet butter is the best. I had the Cowboy Steak which was cooked to perfection. I had the sweet potato with brown brown sugar and cinnamon, and asparagus. All excellent. I've never had a bad meal here and the service was always great. Prices are reasonable and the food is fresh and portions are very good. We always eat here on our last night of our stay. Give them a try! read more

Our waitress was great and everyone seemed to pitch in bringing out food, getting water, clearing plates etc. Salmon Oscar was good, also had a special for the weekend with a 5 course wine pairing menu. A lot of the items were not on the regular menu like the tomato soup, risotto and lemon bread pudding. All were delicious and maybe they will have on the regular menu one day. Only complaints would be the wild rice which had zero flavor and the blueberry lemonade tasted like cough syrup. The waitress said this was this top selling seafood dish, so I went with it bc it was also different. I made a horrific mistake. The flounder was super dry, overcooked and had no flavor. The crab inside was also dry and had zero flavor. The only thing giving it any sort of flavor was the sauce on top. The only thing giving this place a star was how nice the waitress was.
