Went to Ledo's because the first place was taking to long. We got to Ledo's mid afternoon and were the only people in the restaurant with the exception of two older ladies at a table. It took several minutes before someone came to take our orders. Once things got moving though, it was great as usual. Perhaps they were short staffed today? I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at Ledo Pizza, and I feel it's important to share what happened. During our visit, as I was coming out of the restroom, one of their employees nearly knocked me over and actually caused me injury. That alone was concerning, but things only got worse from there. We were then rushed the entire time by two different waitresses--constantly being pushed to order quickly and leave. We barely had time to eat. Between the appetizer and pizza, we were interrupted every few minutes and repeatedly handed boxes, making it impossible to enjoy our meal. In the end, we spent around $60 and essentially had to throw our food away. What was most upsetting, however, was how we were treated when we brought these concerns to the manager, Josh. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the situation, he was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. He made inappropriate remarks about my disability and even upset my 4-year-old child to the point of tears. No customer--especially a family--should ever be treated this way. In over 40 years, I have never experienced such poor treatment from a business. This was not just bad service--it was disrespectful and unacceptable. Went for lunch, not busy. Waitress was attentive and friendly. I had Atheha salad-- it was a good portion, larger than other places, and tasty. Husband had a stromboli which he liked. If reviews were only about the taste of food I would give this location a five. The gluten-free pizza is delicious, the salads are fresh and the extra large wings which I always have well done are incredible. So in terms of food quality I give it a 10 out of 10. What is not impressive is the cleanliness of the restaurant which is lacking. The service is poor and I frequently have to ask for things that they should be providing such as a serving utensil for the pizza or plates for the pizza or extra napkins. The very basics this should be provided each time are reason that I have to look for the staff and ask. In addition, basics like lemon for your iced tea are no longer available, who does that? The management of this location needs to take a look at how they handle dine-in customers and make improvements. You're about to lose my business if you don't improve. read more

I have been to this Ledo Pizza several times most of which have been with my cousins and aunt. All the food is good, the salads, the soups and the sandwiches and most of all the pizza which has a unique sweet tasting sauce and comes in a rectangle with small size pieces cut away than a normal pizza. The beer on tap is good but somewhat expensive for a place that serves pizza. Service has always been timely and the bathrooms well taken care of and clean. read more

I'd come back for the blue cheese dressing--that's about it. The nice chunks of blue cheese floating around went well with the crunchy and tasty boneless chicken chunks. Oddly, the generous blue cheese container begged for more than 3 paltry celery stubs. Why so stingy? The lasagna looked great and came out hot and bubbling, but the small sausage meatballs in the lasagna taste like they came out of a large frozen bag which sank the rest of the experience. The marinara lacks much punch and couldn't save the dish. You know how leftovers sometimes taste better than the day of? Well, that didn't happen either when I tried again the next day. If you love anchovies, cast your line for the Caesar salad! It's overboard on fish flavor. We got the Italian White pizza, but oh my, it was worse than the cheapest frozen pizzas that are served to pre-schooler's and those who don't know any better--which must be a lot since the place was busy. The service was attentive and the staff friendly, but that's not really why we go out to eat, is it? If you are hi-waying through, I'd suggest you check out NIK, just on the other side of 81. We were greeted upon entering and promptly seated. Our server came quickly and took our drink order. Our food came out rather quickly, but was not piping hot. The pizza tasted very good. We noticed that a couple servers appeared to not get along and displayed it in front of customers. Overall, a good visit. We will visit again. read more

This place has pizza you either love or hate; that seems to be the reaction most people have to their style of making pizza. Like the name implies, this is a pizza joint. They also have a good selection of appetizers, but quality can be variable depending on who's cooking that night. The breadsticks are very good (lots of garlic!) and I'll second the note in other reviews; the blue cheese dressing is pretty awesome. The pizza is somewhat light on toppings and the crust is VERY floppy, so if you aren't planning to eat it with knife and fork you will probably end up with it all over your shirt. Not exactly kid safe, folks. Cheese is hot, and tends to slide off the crust, and I'm not a fan of their tomato sauce recipe, although She Who Must Be Obeyed likes it a lot, so your milage may vary. Hot peppers, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning are available if you want them (personally, I really think the sauce needs a shake or two of the Italian seasoning and some more onions/garlic. YMMV.). Service is the standard high school/college folks at pizza places everywhere, but they seem to retain staff for an extended period as we've seen the same faces multiple time over a 3-4 year period. Our server was bright and friendly (without being professionally friendly), and kept drinks filled without trouble. The kitchen kind of dropped the ball on our order, and she went back to the cooks and gave them what-for for messing up her customer's order. It was really nicely handled, and we tipped extra for going to bat for us. Price for two pizzas, some breadsticks and drinks was around $30, which is a little more than usual, but it's a lot of food. It was ok pizza, but just ok. I'd probably end up going to Fox's Pizza in Berryville or Anthony's in Winchester over going here again. read more

Ledo Pizza is a Maryland pizza chain that has been around for 60+ years. Most folks either love it or hate it. I lived in Maryland from 1991-1995 and always enjoyed it. Besides the obvious square pizza, I think the dough and the sauce possess a sweetness that other pizza's do not. I just got a large take out with sausage and mushroom and it was good that evening and the next day for lunch after reheating in the oven. This particular place seemed well run and I would eat in if I had the opportunity. Great pizza! read more

Tonight i explained issues with the manager that was very rude that my pizza hasn't been made right the last 5 times I've ordered it . He informed me that I need my reciept from my last pizza order . Sorry Ledo. I'm just not getting you. We walked over from a nearby hotel, needing something warm and comforting. That being the case, we thought pizza was a no-brainer. We pored over the options, many of which sounded quite good. Unfortunately, what arrived at the table was just sad. The pizza was served directly on a cafeteria tray, and one that didn't look particularly new. The crust is square and flat, without flavor. The sauce tasted like it came right out of the can. The toppings were generic and not hot. If I'd made such a creation at home, I'd be disappointed with my efforts and say that's why we should get pizza out. That way I could expect better preparation, cooking methods, ingredients. In this case, I got what I'd expect my 6 year old nephew to put together. It was lacking...a lot. That being said, the server was very nice. We moved our floppy pieces around a bit, and left most of it there. I couldn't even bring myself to take it and avoid wasting. TASTY PIZZA, PASTAS & SALADS! Haven't had a bad or even a subpar meal from here. The pizza's are always hot whether you get take out or eat there. The crust and toppings always have good taste. Decent variety of specialty pizza's or create your own. The salads are very tasty. The pasta's are solid. Not gonna knock you over, but good bang for the buck. Plus you can pick and choose someitems for your pasta dishes like chorizo, mushrooms, peppers, etc. For take out they have it ready in about 15 minutes. I've only been here once. My daughter wanted to go here because her school bought it for the students and she likes it. We went there to order out since we were in the plaza. The place was nice. The people up front were nice. The prices were really high and the pizzas were not good at all. They were small squares. I thought the large was a small and asked the person up front and they said that was it. I'd never seen tiny square pizzas and thought they were priced about double for what I paid. When I tried it, it was mediocre. I just didn't like the taste or the texture. I gave the pizza I bought to my son who thought it was ok. It seems less of a normal pizza place and more of an artisan pizza place. Some people may love it, I never went back as I disliked the pizza. Three stars though as it was a good place with nice employees but I'd never buy it for myself again. But my daughter really liked it so it's clearly an opinion. As a local here in Winchester you could say I am sort of a "regular" , and as someone who is there a lot I can say that you can ALWAYS expect a cleanclean restaurant, servers who go above and beyond (especially for birthdays) and great food! My boyfriend loves the wings! Says they are the best in town..and we live beside Bdubs! And Ledos loves vegans :) They have a vegan pizza on the menu and you can bring in your own 'cheese' and they will put it on the pizza! They do a lot of fundraising for local places too. Its owned by wonderful people and the servers are ALL very sweet. also spoiler alert, when you sign up to the email club you get a free 8" pizza in your email! read more

Came here on Father's Day for lunch with a bunch of family - 15 of us! The staff was ultra friendly and helpful in getting tables put together for all of us. We tried not to create too much of a fuss, but with 15 of us we can't help but create a bit of a commotion. The staff was great in getting us all situated and minimize any disruption we may have caused. The food - you know the food. It's good. I opted for the Lemon Fresco pizza and couldn't have loved it more, although for some it may be an acquired taste...the lemon is definitely assertive and it may not work for some (my wife included). I'm always happy after I eat Ledo's and this day was no different. What made our visit stand out was our ultra helpful, attentive, and just plain awesome server, Shelby. She took the time to dote on the six, yes SIX kids in our party, even going so far as to help them put on temporary tattoos, making sure there were plenty of crayons and coloring paper at the table, and so on. She took care of our entire party where no one had to be concerned with having an empty glass. Food came out very quickly, which is no small detail when you have a bunch of hungry kids at the table! This particular restaurant is a ways away from my house, but frankly I wouldn't have a problem driving the distance if every experience was as fantastic as the one I enjoyed for my father's day. Every time I go to this Ledos there is a problem with my order. This time they piled so much bacon on my pizza I couldn't eat it! The manager said that the toppings are portioned but when I started scraping bacon off the pizza and she saw the amount of bacon was not portioned but piled on the pizza. My husband and I were on a weekend getaway when decided to stop to eat before we got on the highway. We saw Ledos and decided to try it. It was a Friday and the place was jammed. We had never been to Ledos before and we thought we would try it. We ordered the Pop Pie and the cheesy fries. the cheesy fries were fabulous. However, the pizza was not. It had no flavor at all. It literally tasted like nothing. The dough was flavorless, the white sauce also flavorless. We couldn't taste the cheeses. Basil was supposed to top the pizza and we found it on two squares. That was the most flavor there was. We had to douse it with parm cheese, pepper flakes, salt and pepper to eat it. I would never go to another Ledos again. On the positive side, the service was AMAZING. The hostess and the wait staff were truly outstanding. read more

This Ledo's has been recommended a couple to us, and we finally made it in. When we walked in, hubby & I were back and forth about whether we were staying or carrying out. In those couple minutes, each employee that crossed our path asked if we needed help ... I'm so used to being ignored by employees that this was very refreshing. Employees that actually like to make customers happy! Imagine that! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were never without drinks, she checked in with us just enough - she was perfect. Food was exactly what we ordered, breadsticks were awesome (only 3, so be aware depending on your party size), I wish we had ordered 2 orders, they're only $2. Our meal was served super fast as well. Bonus stars for supporting our local schools, we have kids in high school and elementary and I'm ashamed I haven't done more to support Ledo's in the past. For those who remember the longstanding original Ledo's in Adelphi, MD, the franchise locations are always a bit disappointing, but at least this one is passable. However, I've been disappointed for years because Ledo used to have a delightful small house garden salad and superb blue cheese dressing. But now the salad is lousy (topped with a green pepper ring -- how weird is THAT?) and the blue cheese dressing is gummy commercial crap from a bottle or can. Since most of the chow in pizza joints is even more unhealthy than pizza, and the small salad is no longer decent, I end up having maybe four squares of pizza and that's all. Our pasta dishes were terrible and when it came time to pay they ran my credit card through so many times with different balances, mistaken amounts, that it messed my account all the hell up and finally to date, they were paid twice for our one horrible meal. Having a manager that could barely speak English, did not help the situation, either. Why didn't we pay cash, you ask, Ledo's online ordering wouldn't let us pay cash on pick up. Friendly staff and great service. We had the Supreme Pizza to go. Never had a pizza this sweet. All three of us were a bit surprised at the sweetness level. Had to cut sweetness with a large jar of pepperoncini peppers. A bit better on day two as the sweetness absorbed in the dough I guess. For $30 you get lots of toppings and large pizza for 4 adults. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. So far I have tried a create-your-own pizza as well as an alfredo with Italian sausage dish. The only complaint about the pizza was that you really had to work at cutting the cheese if you wanted to prevent all the cheese from falling off the pizza. No complaints with the alfredo. While passing through; we thought we'd try Ledos from it's good reviews. Our pizza would have been better if it was baked longer.. the bottom was flimsy and doughy. Our extra crispy wings were not even slightly crispy and we only had to go the hotel behind the pizzeria. Our salad was very good, however I purchased a bottle of your house dressing which was wrapped all up so I put it in my overnight bag assuming it had been processed only to find it should have been refrigerated as it was not sealed, so I threw away another $3.99 because I could not trust it after being room temperature for 48 hours until we reached our destination. I gave 3 stars because I believe everything would have been great had it been cooked properly, as the sauces and toppings were very good. read more
