"Heat Resistance: Tempered glass handles high heat and temperature changes much better than regular glass. Regular glass can crack easily if one side gets hot and the other stays cool." When I put it on top it was fine until about an hour or so and then it just broke in half and started falling down to the fish. I tried to catch it, but it was so heavy. It didn't kill my fish, but it almost did I called up and was very upset about it because it should've been tempered glass. They gave me regular glass because the water is warm, which warms the glass from the bottom and causes it to crack. I had used their glass for years as an aquarium top when I called and told them what happened -They refused to refund the money or to replace it with the tempered glass.
