I got my first ever dog Hedwig from her when I was 10 years old, He was my best friend and stayed with us till I was 21, I remember how much she explained things to me as a child and how amazing an experience it was to get him than. I recently purchased a merle auggie puppy from her in September and she is a perfect healthy beautiful dog, she has so much personality and is so active and friendly, she's so smart. I was equally as pleased with the experience of purchasing her as I was when I was 10 sending emails and begging my mom to say yes. She sent weekly updates on her and gave me all of her medical records and paperwork upon pick up. I was able to visit her several times before picking her up, and was amazed by how many happy corgis and aussies there were there. Definitely recommend. This is Maximilian, my tri colored corgi. We had the pleasure of bringing this pup home 2 years ago from Lee English . She was amazing during the whole experience, from the moment I picked him out to the day I picked him up. She would send update pictures every week (which I still have the pictures) and she worked with me and responded very quickly if i had any questions or concerns. I traveled about almost 5 hours to pick him up and we had a great time driving him back to his forever home. I'm so happy we picked him , I can't imagine life without him. Lee English Corgi Lady - Best pup ever ! - Pets Near Me - Lecanto, Florida

We got our first corgi, Rupert from Lee 2 years ago and he's the sweetest boy ever. The whole process was pretty simple we emailed her, then heard back in a few days about the puppies she had available. A few weeks later he was ready to go. She does not take away puppies from their mother early or until they are absolutely ready to go like some other breeders I've seen. She's also not a back yard breeder-she doesn't churn puppies out so it takes time to get one. All puppies have their shots, papers and live in the home with their mom and play outside. It was great actually going there to pick him up and getting a chance to see his mom, dad, and siblings. She has a large farm and allows folks to walk around to see the puppies-you of course let her know you are visiting ahead of time. When we picked up our Rupert we noticed other Lee English corgi owners picking up a second puppy from her and they absolutely loved him. An awesome thing she does is email you a picture of your puppy every week until he's home with you. Its important to remember she's an older lady who truly loves her Corgi's and I've run into other corgi owners that have gotten their fur kids from her, so she's very busy. Since she is so busy and older, emails may not come as fast as they use to so its important to have patience and just keep at it or the best thing is to let her know you would like to visit and stop by so she'll remember your face. Keep in mind these are purebreds, thus they'll have occasional health issues like all purebreds. Our boy has an allergy to chicken/fleas and sensitive tummy (he's a nerd lol). Keep in mind its probably not the breeder but the breed. read more

We had the most awful experience with Lee. We had first emailed her in May 2015 asking to be put on a waiting list for a merle puppy. We had heard from others that it would be a while so we were patient. Once she did get back to us she told us to email once per month for updates. We happily did this. Finally, around the end of November she said she was expecting a few litters of merles. We were so excited that we were about to get one! She told us to email halfway through December, which we did. Three times.....Towards the end of December she informs us that she was going to let previous buyers choose first, and while we were a little disappointed we understood. So we let her know that was fine and to email us with who was left....she NEVER did. Recently I was on the Central Florida page and saw a new member getting a merle from her. I reached out to her and she said she barely contacted Lee in December 2015 and immediately got, not only a merle, but a blue eyed one too....Least to say my fiance and I were IRATE. We've been trying since MAY. And we weren't even particular about eye color or anything, we JUST wanted a merle pup. We already have one corgi, which Lee said was important so we know the breed. This girl that got one HAS NEVER HAD ONE. I'm really not sure where things went sour, but I read all of my fiances emails first to make sure they were polite and sweet. We ended up getting a tri from a breeder in Georgia and she is the sweetest thing! DONT GO TO LEE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MESSED WITH FOR MONTHS AND HAVE OTHERS GO IN FRONT OF YOU IN LINE FOR MYSTERIOUS REASONS!!!! The "waitlist" is a JOKE. Not sure what her method of choosing parents are, but I would not want someone with compromised beliefs/money hungry goals to be the one breeding my pup..... read more

Finding and buying a puppy is a very emotional thing to do, and we were more than disappointed with Lee English. I found her to be unprofessional. We were looking for a blue merle corgi girl, which we wanted to complement our male Cardigan corgi and female Pembroke. Finally it seemed like it was happening, and we were fine with the fact that Lee's dogs were a cross between the two breeds of corgi (rather than a purebred merle Cardigan corgi). Everything seemed to go fine, Lee emailed us back when Dotty's pups were born, we expressed interest in one of them, Lee responded that she will "pencil us in for the pup" (i.e. reserve her for us), ............................ and then we asked three questions: 1) Are your dogs tested for canine degenerative myelopathy (which all serious breeders test for to avoid breeding dogs with 2 copies of the SOD1 gene mutation associated with higher incidence of DM in Corgis), 2) are they tested for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA - which can occur in the Cardigan breed), 3) are the tails natural or docked (Cardigans are typically not docked while Pembroke's are). These were very normal things to ask a breeder about and Lee gave brief answers (yes, no, tails removed). We asked again about DM and she clarified that the dam was a carrier and the sire was clear. So the pubs were carriers or clear for DM but not at risk and we emailed her to arrange payment of the deposit and so on. Then suddenly it got weird: No response first, then after another email she responded and tried to talk us out of buying a pup from her and referred us to another breeder in Texas. Suddenly then it became an issue that we are in California - something she knew from our first introductory contact with her (we live on two acres of land in southern California). Then she didn't want the pup to fly with us when the time comes, even though in an email she pointed out that she had transferred a 10 week old pup from Colorado by plane to Florida before. Then she sent us a comment from another breeder who stated that screening for the SOD1 mutation was overrated (and ironically cited a publication that showed a clear link between homozygosity for the SOD1 missense mutation and DM in Corgis), and when I told her again that we really would like to have the puppy she just responded "sorry, my puppy my rules". In short: Lee made no sense. But the worst was that when I finally asked for clarity and if she had perhaps given the pup to someone else (which would have been OK to communicate) she responded with accusations that we were asking questions (we asked 3), and that we never told her that we were in California (we had done so, clearly). Any reputable breeder will ensure that genes that are known risk factors for severe conditions such as DM and PRA are not inherited in a manner that puts a dog at risk, and will be willing to answer related questions by their clients. And they will be committed to a buyer who expressed clear interest in a specific pup and asks questions related to the health status of the dog and physical attributes. It seems Lee just picked the next person in line to quickly close a deal. My recommendation is to go with a qualified AKC breeder, not with the Corgi lady. read more
