I ordered a large Mad Monkey Mocha, which was very good, and a bagel with a self serve cup of cream cheese. The coffee came out quickly but the bagel wasn't ready for about 30 minutes. I had almost finished my coffee by then and were not interested in refilling at least part of my drink. That made my trip here less than enjoyable. read more

Lee's Coffee and Tea has been in business in downtown Laurel for almost 10 years now. Believe it or not, I visited for the first time last week on two separate occasions. I am not a coffee drinker and just never took the time to check it out. When I did, I was impressed. This business started here long before it became cool to operate out of downtown like it is now. With all of the positive development in Downtown Laurel over the last 5 years, Lee's led the way. Walk inside and you immediately like the charm. The comfy sofa and chairs resembling a living room, the interior decor, the second level, the wooden tables and chairs for eating or studying, the separate dedicated meeting room, a separate gift store, the coffee, teas and food available, the Friday night events of Open Mic, Board Games and spinning vinyl records, etc. Of course free WiFi is offered with a password written on the chalkboard inside. This is simply a cool spot to hangout in Laurel. This business would fit in much larger cities than Laurel. For lunch, I ordered the BLT sandwich for $8 and added the Aunt Lee's pimento cheesefor an extra $1. It came with a bag of chips. The sandwhich took about 10 minutes to make. The bread was pressed and with good quality ingredients made for a tasty sandwich. Street parking out front or you can use the back parking lot and use the rear entrance. They also have 2-3 small tables out front on the sidewalk for outdoor use. I like this place and plan to return when in town. read more

First time here! Had hot "Black Forest" drinks. Wow! Chocolate-Cherry Coffee drink. The service was very good for a busy day and time. We met several local folks that openly bragged about "their" coffee shop! All we're full of pride and openly chatted about their great city and downtown buildup. Oh, we also had the incredible and freshly made avocado toast, and a blueberry bagel. Fresh, delivered quickly and then left alone to use the free WiFi and enjoy our coffee. While there, plenty of action upstairs with a baby shower and others meeting in groups. Great vibe. Plenty of seating. We'll be back soon! read more

The trip to Laurel was a bit disappointing. We love the show Home Town, but so far like most things on TV, this place is for show only. My coffee was certainly the only reason for the 2 stars. The building is amazing, but the restaurant was below average. We ordered and there was nothing available, everything was out of stock and we got there early, so not like there was a rush. I understand the "supply chain" issue, but the avocado toast was quite literally just avocado on toast with absolutely nothing else. At least every place I've ever had this it would have an egg or something like greens or something. My wife's omelette was simple with deli meet and what looked like a store bought prefabbed egg. I'm not being mean just honest. There didn't seem to be anything special and homemade. This place was featured on the show. So if could be a goldmine with a real cook and some care. We wanted to like the place but employees with rude behavior can kill the vibe of a place, I'm A veteran and came in with a service pet, some lady had a barking dog and mine barked back, lady at counter before I ever ordered informed me that her boss said once a service dog barks it is no longer welcome in their establishment, considering her unfriendly demeanor she never greeted us or broke a slight smile took her forever to take our order and I told her we would eat outside. The coffee was good, the two sandwiches with chips was $43 ! Pricey considering it's a small town and the food was just average! This same lady informed her co- worker she was leaving at 1:30 and not into customers or friendly ! Hey a TV show can bring people in the door but if you want them to come back I would suggest some customer service training ! Laurel is quite charming. There aren't tons of options to eat in their downtown area and the ones we googled and yelped had a long wait to get in. So we walked around and stumbled upon Lee's. The food was fresh and healthy, yet filling. The Dirty Chai Latte (with half and half) was really good. The seating options were unique (in a good way) but I knocked a star for tables not being cleaned. I ended up throwing the trash away at a table just so we could have a place to eat. read more

Another Laurel delight. In a downtown that, by and large, takes their sabbaths on Sunday and Monday, Lee's is faithfully open morning and evening and we're SO grateful. The space is beautiful and historic and the staff is every bit the Laurel southern charm we experienced throughout our entire trip. So friendly, genuinely attentive and sneakily funny. We loved going here to get our breakfast and coffee each morning during our stay. I can't speak to the lunch or evening situation, but I saw that they sometimes have little concerts or open mic nights and it seems like a perfect space for it. Plenty of seating and even the ability to social distance in the era of a pandemic. For us, Lee's will be a wonderful memory of one of our favorite (and only) trips in 2020. read more

Absolutely adorable inside. Very clean and a great menu selection. I realize this is a coffee shop, however was a bit disappointed we waited 35 minutes for half a sandwich, chicken salad, and quesadilla. We visited on a Sunday for lunch. Not many people inside. Popped in for a latte after the Mrs visited a few stores in the area. Both of us agreed it was the best cup of coffee we had in a long time. No extra ingredients needed. We're out of pastrami - no note on menu board - would have changed our mind had we known but after a 10-15 minute wait to order we went ahead and picked other items. We watched as several workers were still getting things prepped for the day. They failed to delivered to second salad and so I had to go again and ask for it. I think the place is just for fans (tourists) who come just because of the TV show. Don't do it. Food is not good service is worse. The only place in Laurel that had not nice attitudes.

45 minutes for avocado toast, 10 minutes for coffee. And the staff was incredibly unfriendly, not a smile in the entire place. No hustle, no care. I guess when you have a monopoly on the town you can treat people however you want. Hopefully some competition puts them in their place soon.
