Our go to for a quick lunch to go. The all day lunch specials are decent and prices are the cheapest you can find anywhere. The old couple running the place are also quite sweet. Was craving Chinese food so bad last night and came across this little hole in the wall and decided to give this place a chance. The lady taking the order was rude af and so inpatient with you acting as if you should know how things work around that restaurant. Like it was my first time coming here and every place is different so I'm trying to understand how things worked around there. But I have to say the food itself was bomb af that's why I have to give this place a 4 out of 5. Despite the horrible customer service the food is so delicious and flavorful! The chow mein was so juicy and delicious every bite was so good I couldn't stop eating lol! The sweet and sour chicken was so good too!! It's a little hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant on a small street in Downtown San Leandro. I placed an order over the phone rather than through a service like GrubHub because I know how awful it is for small businesses. They lose a large percentage of the order to GrubHub so it's just better to call in and give the full amount to the restaurant. However, I really wish they would have told me over the phone that there is a $10 minimum to use any type of card. When I got there, they told me $10 minimum and directed me to the fridge to get a drink. Sigh, I mean I guess! It really would have been helpful if they told me that so I would have brought cash. I mean most people don't use cash these days right, especially with COVID going on. Do they really want to be touching that? As for the food, it was just alright. I got the salt and pepper chicken lunch special which was listed as a "Must Try!" on their menu, but it was honestly too salty. I would probably try something else next time. I was ordering door dash and always have a hard time finding Chinese restaurants that have good reviews on door dash AND Yelp, but this one was close. I really love egg foo young and it's not only hard to find, but risky to order from a new place. I ordered shrimp egg foo young and hot and sour soup. It arrived hot and well packaged. The egg foo young was one large patty drenched in sauce and was absolutely delicious! I thought without having the sauce on the side, it wouldn't be flavorful enough but I was wrong. It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked! I also really liked the hot and sour soup. Sometimes when I order it, it's so hot that I can't even taste the rest of my food, but the balance in this soup was perfect. I definitely recommend and will be ordering again! read more

When I got my change was $ 7.25 from a $ 20 . With 10.75 SL sale tax , shoulda been $ 12.20 FYI . So what it`s only . 55 cents ??? So then there`s the food . I came here because of the good reviews. Honestly I'm not sure if it was my bad luck but I had a bad experience. I called around 8:21 hung up at 8:22 .and the person answered really rude attitude saying "were closing in 10 min are you l sure You could make it" with a really bad tone . I advised him I'm literally 5 min away I could be there soon . I got there in 5 min, idk how they where able to cook my shrimp chow mien and beef fried rice in under 5 min?!? They literally had the food bagged up already . That's pretty weird. When I got home the food was undercooked and it made me really sick . I've been throwing up all day . The chowmien felt like they just dumped a full bottle of soy sauce and thrown in the microwave . I told the person who answered the phone and took my money that Google shows they close at 9 PM not 8:30 PM . Wow!!! Very disappointed... First of all the older lady running the counter was rude, and inpatient, the guy cooking in the back had his mask pulled down. I brought it to her attention, she walked back and he pulled it up .. We ordered Honey walnut chicken which was super dry, barely any sauce and the walnuts looked burnt,dry and had zero sauce on them. The egg rolls were horrible, when biting into them, they were mushy, not even cooked! The kung pao chicken was ok but they used alot of peanut sauce which took away from all the other flavors.. I bought a few items and the salt and pepper chicken wasn't chicken, each and every piece has bones in them and the meat was dark; not white meat chicken like it should be. Broccoli beef: the sprout were yellow and brown as you can tell the broccoli were withered and cook for our order, the sauce had too much aroma and taste bitter. My son ate a broccoli and it had one of those stainless steel metal scrubber in it. Health departmemt should give this place a visit. I'm glad he didn't swallow it or else I would sue them. The salt and pepper porkchops were weird. It's not a whole piece but its rather they cut in half instead, and the pieces were so thin, all I could chew on was batter rather than porkchop meat. I went too Lees Garden for Lunch today . I was there at 2:50 PM. I ordered Dry Fried Ribs and Chow Mein . I received my food 15 Minutes later. The Chow Mein was Average and the Dry Fried Ribs was really Boney not much meat. My Server brought my Check.. I perused it and there was an extra $.50 charge on it. When I questioned my Server , she told me there's and extra charge for lunch specials ordered after 3 PM and that I ordered it at 3:10PM. I told her I ordered at 2:50PM and I could prove it . As I made a Call after ordering and it logged on my phone before 3:00 PM. My Server then pulled a Chucky on me and yelled at me she wasn't going to argue about it tough luck . I responded since she was ethically challenged . I paid the Bill. My Server responded she would teach me to read time next time I came in. $.50 cents isn't much . But for me its the Principle of the Matter . My Server was so Money Hungry she sold her Soul for $.50 cents. I hope She doesn't hold her breath waiting for me to come back . Alright so it took me a while but I finally got to it I just wanna say Lee's Garden is one of the best spots I've been too out here in the Bay Area, hands down! I remember moving to San Leandro and trying so many Chinese restaurants. They were cool, some lacked great customer services or just attention of details in the preparation. When I came to Lee's Garden I could instantly smell the authentic Chinese cuisine I order some chicken wings, Lo-Mien, house fired rice, string beans and egg rolls. As I drove home I just couldn't resist digging into the bag and grabbing a wing. Well I'm glad I did, cause they are Bomb as **** My family loves this place also and we're actually about to order some food right now. We have ordered from Lee's Garden. It was a great run- 1. Until they stopped delivery and allowed the "Beyond Menu" and the "Grubhub" people to deliver orders, adding on an additional 9+ dollars for fees and service charges along with "suggested" tips to 20%; this led to 2. The deletion of the best menu choices ever offered by a local Chinese Restaurant, ever. We now choose from a "hangar-on-the-door" type of menu. This restaurant was never like this, at all. In the end, 3. The Delivery Service from this restaurant has lost it's personal touch (We used to know the delivery person), for some reason cost can cost up to $20.00 more for nothing. Indeed. I ordered from here for lunch today. We ordered 2 lunch plates - broccoli beef with fried rice, sweet and sour pork with chow mein, and chicken with black bean sauce. The food was very tasty, flavorful and delicious. Nice portions and it all looked appealing. The right amount of sauce, nothing was dry or tasted old or recooked. I didn't add soy sauce to anything. The restaurant is small inside, a few tables but I always took my food to go. Owners and employees are really nice. If I'm ever back in the Bay I'll be stopping off. I was troubled about writing an accurate review for this place for the longest time because of the owner. It was impressive that the owner delivered to me both times and was clearly enthusiastic about his business and making good connections with his customers. However, the second time he delivered, I almost felt pressured into writing him a good review based on what he said. There was a reason I was holding off on writing the review, dude... There are some things you need to work on: I love potstickers. I can tell this place makes from scratch including the noodle. That being said, they have great flavor and texture, but they were falling apart both times I got them. This means, all the filling is coming out and I can't grab and bite into it as you should be able to with a potsticker. Also, the last time I had them, I bit into something hard! Could have been bone or something, but the last thing you want to do when biting into a potsticker is chomp down on a hard piece of something. I don't want to know how the sausage is made! I also got their general's chicken, pork chow fun, and the salt and pepper fish. The fish had great flavor, but it was somewhat oily and saturated. The general's chicken was decent and had good flavors. The pork chow fun was awful due to the texture and quality of the food. The noodles were clearly store-bought and did not go well with the medley of ingredients. I will probably order from here again because, like I said, the flavors were there, and come on... HOMEMADE POTSTICKERS. But, I will be careful about what I order here, and I may have to call in to assure that they are all still in-tact when they arrive. I love the passion and enthusiasm the owner has, but maybe put some of that energy into the quality of the food and not into hustling customers for good reviews. Portions were scarce, flavor was off; all in all an underwhelming, dissatisfying experience. Mongolian beef was salty, didn't taste at all like any I've had before. And when you question them, they act that they don't understand what you're saying, so you just give up. I bought their lunch special for $7.95 and I was charged $9.95. I didn't leave a tip because I am against on what they are doing. Plus, they already added an extra buck anyways on what they charged me. read more
