Stopped by for a quick Chinese takeout and it hit the spot. We ordered the chow mein noodles, salt & pepper fish, and General Chicken. Everything was tasty and came out quickly, which made it perfect for a fast meal. The chubby noodles had a nice texture, the salt & pepper fish was crispy and flavorful, and the General Chicken had a good balance of sweet and savory. It's a solid option when you want something quick and easy, and they have a lot of different dishes to choose from as it's similar to Panda Express setup but authentic food.

Yellow curry chicken, fried pork ribs, and thin noodle chow mein

This was my second time getting food from Asia Delight #2. The first time I tried the shrimp with mixed vegetables, which was very flavorful, and the pork ribs in black bean sauce, which were also really good. This time I ordered the yellow curry chicken and the fried pork ribs. The ribs were just okay, a little too fatty for me. The yellow curry chicken I would not order again. It was very bland and watery compared to other yellow curries I have had, which usually have more depth and umami. I even tried adding salt to improve it but it did not help. On top of that, the potato chunks were huge, almost the size of a tennis ball, which threw off the dish. I also got their thin chow mein noodles, which I prefer over the thick ones, and a hot and sour soup. The soup was actually one of the highlights. It had the sourness I look for since most places fall short on that, although it was a bit too salty and I had to add some water. Still, I would definitely order it again. Overall, this spot feels like one of the better fast food style Chinese places in the area. I would come back, but I would stick to certain dishes.

Asia Delight has been a family staple for over 15 years. I love their sesame and green beans. The ladies who pack our boxes full of deliciousness are patient and accommodating. It's rather clean for a Chinese fast food spot and the wait time isn't usually long. I usually stop by if I want a quick nibble on the go.

156 W Juana Ave San Leandro, CA 94577 Asia Delight #2 is located in San Leandro Plaza, across from the Safeway. I was here on a Wednesday afternoon around 4pm. It was bright and sunny, with temps over 70*F. I was on my break, and decided to try this restaurant. I did look over the mixed Yelp reviews, and I sort of knew what to expect. Asia Delight #2 is the Chinese version of fast food. Prepared foods are kept on warmers or steam trays. You tell the server what you want, they pack it, you pay, and it's ready to eat. When I was there, I was in-and-out in under 5 minutes. Tip: Go to this restaurant when it's busy. Better chance to get fresher foods. There were 3 servers, and they didn't say much. She just said "next customer." I asked for: Fried Rice, Black Bean Spareribs, Sesame Chicken. Menu Price $10.88, I was charged $12.15. (Why? Prepared Food To-Go is taxable + bag fee) They have a few tables for eating there. But I took my food to-go. How was the food? Portion size + Value, this place beats Panda Express. The Sesame Chicken was fresh. The chicken was crispy, and the sauce was sweet. Not the healthiest thing to eat, but it was delicious. The Black Bean Spareribs were also good. Tender, tasty, and a little fatty....good chinese style riblets. The fried rice was not too good. It was drenched with soy sauce. It was acceptable, and better than the other choice of ropey chow mein. The negative thing about this place are the panhandlers right outside the door. As I tried to walk inside a lady stepped in front of me and asked for change. As I exited, she did it again. But overall, I had a good experience here, and I would return. free parking in lot

Asia Delight #2 has always had great food! For years they've served their delicious Chinese cuisine to customers at the heart of downtown San Leandro. Having a variety of options, one can select from their many tasty dishes and the quantity of items they would like to add into their meal. Ordering multiple combos, I chose a two item combo which consisted of General's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and a split of Chicken Chow Mein and Fried Rice. I was very pleased and immersed in a transcendence of childhood memories brought forth by tasty Chinese food. The servers have been for the majority the same other the past two decades. They're friendly, appreciative of your business and do their best to get your orders to you as fast as they can. Customers are also able to dine in if they'd like. The seating is limited, but it's also convenient if you're looking for a spot to sit down and enjoy a meal as opposed to taking it to go. Asia Delight #2 is as good as ever! 5/5.

Reminds me of one of those epic videos online where the combo plates are packed full to the maximum with food. Food was good, staff was friendly and the inside was clean. Not the best Chinese food I have ever had but for the price it was good.

This place always seems to have a line from open to close. No, you're not going to get a gourmet meal here. Service is sparse. English is questionable. Walk in the door and the line begins to your left following the wall. It would be to your benefit if you come with another person, that one gets into line and the other moves forward to see what's on offer. That way, you'll know what you want when it becomes your turn to order. You can order ala carte, one, two, and three item plates and simple meals or family meals. Simple meals are Steamed Rice and one Entree. One, Two and Three Item plates get Chow Mein or Fried Rice and one, two or three entrees. For those getting Three items, the third item will be placed in a small take-out box as your clamshell will probably already weigh two pounds. How's the food? Most items look shiny so probably a bit greasy. Many items are battered and deep fried. Those items are often more batter than the primary ingredient. The flavors are good. Any dish that has protein and veg together will have more veg than protein. We both ordered Three Item Plates. Here's what we got: Fried Rice - 3 - Rice that's been fried. Not particularly flavorful. Peas and scant amount of egg. A great vessel for absorbing any sauces that you may have ordered. Curry Chicken - 4 - Larger pieces of Dark Meat Chicken with Potatoes in a Curry Sauce. The Sauce was thick. I would have preferred a looser sauce. The chunks of Chicken and Potatoes were cut large. I would have liked smaller pieces. The flavors were good. Salt & Pepper Fish - 4 - Thick breading, skinny fish, good flavor, not too greasy. Sweet & Sour Pork - 4 - Nice crunchy breading which really absorbed the flavor of the sauce. I liked it, others may not care as much for it. Chow Mein - 4 - You can order either Vegetarian Thin Noodles or Chicken Thick Noodles. Fried Chicken Wings - 5 - I could eat these all day long. Green Beans with Chicken - 4 - They looked good but I didn't have any. Broccoli Beef - 3 - Not a real Chinese Dish but yet known around the world. It was okay for what it was. Would we go there again? Of course. Would I make it part of our rotation? No, there are plenty of good Chinese Restaurants that we haven't tried yet.

2 item combo with thin noodles chow mein, salted & pepper fried fish and pepper beef
    Allan Y.

If you want good authentic tasting Chinese food, this is the place for you. I eat here 4 to 5 times a year and they are very consistent with their dishes. I got the 2 item combo which came with your choice Fried Rice, Chow Mein with thin or thick noodles. I got the thin noodle chow mein with salted pepper fried fish and pepper beef. The batter on the fried fish was seasoned perfectly and the fish was fresh. The pepper beef was very tender. They give you a generous portion of everything. You can't go wrong with this place especially when the prices are very reasonable. Less than $15.00 for this combo.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

The scallion pancakes were not crispy or flaky - Trader Joe's are better. The tofu rolls were cold on one side, like refrigerator cold, while the other side was lukewarm. The jellyfish salad had no flavor whatsoever, just the very slightest hint of sesame. No salt, nothing. The seaweed salad was decent. The deep fried mochi puffs with meat filling were bad. The outer shell was too thick so the inside was uncooked and doughy. Inedible. And, the cold chicken feet were so tough they were in edible. I didn't know you could make chicken feet like that, so tough. Again not really any flavor, they were just tossed with a little bit of chili sauce and hardly any of that. And no vinegar chili sauce for dipping. I would not recommend.

The lighting is terrible though, the florescent lighting is just not for me. The food here is pretty good. They have a huge selection. Hayward doesn't have a lot of Asian catering restaurants that are cheap eats. Yeah, they opened a new banquet, but not a lot of fast, cheap foods. 1. Pork Congee with Thousand Year Old Egg - Typically very flavorful. I like to come grab a bowl when I'm not feeling well to cook. 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp - How can you go wrong? Such a western staple. 3. Pork Chow Fun - Large portion, reasonably priced, tasty enough. 4. Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet - Surprisingly one of my favorite things on the menu. Sharable portions, enough for maybe 2-4 people. 5. Salt & Pepper Prawns - Typically I would say standard, but I don't believe I enjoyed the prawns as much. 6. Mongolian Beef - Standard, soft, best with rice. 7. Salt & Pepper Pork Chops - I could live without this. 8. Combo Pan Fried Noodles - I love me a crispy noodle with gravy I can pour over because it leaves a good texture. 9. Chicken Fried Rice - Standard, sharable 10. Beef Brisket Noodle Soup - Tasty, boyfriend's favorite. Hate that adding wonton is literally $1 per piece and it's so tiny. 11. HK Milk Tea - Reasonable, but not very flavorful.. 12. Lemon Tea - Decent, probably our go to drink 13. Assam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam - Not worth it. The service is pretty standard, limited due to language barrier at times.

Came here at 9:30pm on a Friday night. It's packed but didn't have to wait for a table…read more We ordered 3 main dishes and 2 dessert (fresh toast, and mochi waffle). A drink and a dessert which we did not.order came to our table by mistake. It seems like things are a bit chaotic since there were so many ppl dining in. Our fresh toast came out first , then a main dish (minced beef rice) then the waffle mochi. We had to wait for the other 2 main dishes for a long while. I think they shouldn't have served the dessert first or they could have asked us if we want them out together with our entree . Anyway, the service was ok. The place was very loud. We didn't enjoy it and wanted to leave. I think I will stick with coming in the afternoon instead of night time.
