I had the most delicious "lees salad" - I never eat everything but the plate was empty! My husband got the ribs è a dry rub on it ( not wet ribs) which he enjoyed. Took some home for lunch the next day. It's on a road which is not a "view"- it's just a narrow street/alley. However the inside was cute, lit w Christmas lights, the server was friendly with good advice on what to eat! If you just want a relaxed place from some grilled food and a nice salad - average priced. It's an open air place like all the places in SXM.

This place was suggested so I tried it. Parking: lot that's tight and on a hill!! Not safe for anyone physically challenged. Atmosphere: Bar Service: I went to the bar because I was getting drinks. Ivana was my bartender. Her Drinks pack a punch!! Food: Krabby cakes: ok not much flavor. Shrimp Ceviche: just ok. Fried Plantain: good. Potato salad: ok. Needed more flavor Mix salad. Good. Liked the dressing. Whole red snapper: lacked flavor Overall I won't be back; they left me nothing to come back for.

We came to Lee's on a recommendation from a friend in Florida who is from St. Maarten. It is just a few blocks from our resort in Simpson Bay, so we were able to walk there. First of all they have THE BEST HAPPY HOUR IN TOWN! They have many name brand rums, whiskeys, vodkas, plus at least 6 or 7 beers that are half price from 4-7. Great deal & lots of choices! On our first visit we just stopped for drinks & had some appetizers to go along with them. I had the mozzarella sticks, which were good and came with a unique island-flavored dipping sauce. My husband had the fried crab bites .....they were little, but there were lots of them! He said they were really good and both were very reasonably priced at about $6-7 each. We met the owners; Lee and Ileana and their son, Jordan. They were super friendly and seemed to welcome everyone in the restaurant & bar. It seemed as though many patrons were regulars....and if the locals keep coming back you know the food is good! We came back on Thursday because we heard that when you dine at Lee's, lobster is the entree to order; and Jordan told us how they get fresh lobsters in on Thursdays. They have a "lobster pool" where you can choose your own lobster, then have it weighed and cooked by their chef. My husband selected a lobster & it was huge and weighed 4 pounds.....I figured this would be an $80 lobster; so he decided on a little smaller one. (Still about 3 pounds). Even though we live in Florida; he hasn't had lobster for years, so this was going to be a real treat for him! He said it was absolute perfection & he finished the entire thing. (Which is amazing because it took up the entire plate!) It also came with 2 sides and he had a garden salad & cole slaw. He liked the cole slaw a lot & said the salad was just o.k.; but nothing compared to the lobster for him! I don't eat seafood, so I ordered the burger and fries. It was a big, flavorful burger with a fresh bun and all the toppings. I actually saved half so I could finish it for lunch the next day. There were a lot of fries, and they were really tasty as well. Lee's Roadside Grill has everything you'd hope to find at an island restaurant! There is a full bar in the center of the establishment & lots of tables that can accommodate just 2 people, or a big group. The menu is extensive & the prices are fair. There are many entrees & many appetizers if you're just looking for a quick bite. (Lots of non-seafood options for someone like me too.) The staff, and especially the owner's family, are so hospitable. We will definitely be back the next time we visit St. Maarten....hopefully sooner; rather than later!

Great seafood place! Nice atmosphere! Great mojito! Fresh and tasty. Family had a mix of Mahi Mahi, Fish and chips, garlic shrimp, and ceviche. Outdoor setting, fun atmosphere with a couple Tv's showing soccer. Service was relatively fast given island pace. They do take credit cards which not all Saint Maarten establishments do,

The appetizers took an hour to come out and I have no idea what the cooks were doing. The food was cold and spoke to the chef and all he did was take off for the cheapest meal and which was cold also. If I could give a no star I would. Food was cold and tough. I spoke with the head chef Carlos not really wanting to appease to our experience. We didn't even get an apology for the long wait. This is my family's first and last time going there. Especially being on vacation. I highly doubt not recommend this place at all and it's highly disappointing due to the location of the place that set the ambiance off from what could've been a memorable moment.

On the other side of the road from Cupe Coy (if you're not into bathing au naturale, beware!), this towards the rear of the complex towards the boat docks. The staff was laidback, friendly, and gregarious. When asked for a recommendation, our server was knowledgeable and perceptive. The apps were excellent. There was a decadent dip and plantain cups with different meats in them. Very good, great value. The mains (so, meo culpa here, I forgot what The Scientist had, I was busy with item number one, supra) are hearty portions priced well below other spots on the island. Never having had lobster thermidor before, it had to happen. It was spiny lobster, which was appreciated. The more firm/dense meat, along with the less sweet (neutral) flavor of the spiny lobster lent itself to the cream and shallots I tasted. If you're going for decadent without a hefty price tag, this is your spot.

Absolutely amazing!!…read more Unassuming and not pretentious while still being clean, friendly, accommodating, and delicious. This was one of our favorites dinners while we visited Saint Maarten. The husband and wife owners are absolutely incredible. My son ordered the spaghetti. I ordered the lobster and my husband ordered the whole snapper. Spaghetti- the chef came over and grated fresh Parmesan over the spaghetti...delicious Lobster- couldn't decide if I wanted it prepared creole style or Thermidor. The wife made a decision for me and had each half prepared differently. I was soooo grateful and tipped accordingly because that was a lot of work. My husband and I planned to share the lobster and he doesn't like tomatoes so they left the fresh tomatoes out of the creole side and added okra (I love okra but my husband hates them). My husband tried it nonetheless and loved it. The lobster was delicious! Curried Whole snapper - AMAZING! The food and all the sides were served piping hot and my husband REALLY appreciated that. He also appreciated the size of the snapper (maybe about 2.5lbs). He ordered whole snapper at every restaurant we visited and this location had the largest whole fish. The view from the restaurant is amazing. They play music in the square that you enter to access the restaurant. The music is loud enough to hear while dining. Not sure if it's an every night thing or not. Music was fine. Overall, we were really happy to spend our money here!

As I stated before the waiters and servers were top notch. With that said, the kitchen was the issue. My wife ordered a lobster bisque or should I say a soup. To add insult to injury, there was literally one chunk of lobster that was almost half inch in size. The family did enjoy the bread, but the main meals had several misses that caused this restaurant to be a two star. I will start with my wife who had the lasagna. She said it was really good and could have been a dish from Italy (We were there last December). My daughter had the gnocchi and a side of meatballs. She stated the gnocchi was bland, but the meatballs were good. My son, started as a couple failures. First he ordered a beef tenderloin fillet. After being told that they were out he ordered the New York strip medium rare. When the food finally made it to the table it was rare. After sending it back the second one was cooked better. However the steak you could taste the rosemary, but was still no salt. Once adding salt to the steak it tasted good. He ordered a side of pasta which he really enjoyed. Finally, my order, I ordered the whole lobster. To start, the size of this lobster for $79 was a joke and if the lobster was good, I would have felt better! Not having a Caribbean Lobster before I was not sure how it was supposed to be and I wished I would have asked when I took my first bite. The lobster was supposed to be a grilled item. I was so looking forward to this lobster to be TOTALLY disappointed! The lobster was actually over cooked. I only found out after I was leaving because I asked how the consistency was supposed to be. If you only care about scenery and pasta this is the place for you! Anything else, there are a lot of options in the area to choose from.

When we walked in they handed us 2 menus and pointed to the stairs. There's a narrow catwalk with a few deuces along the windows. Service was quick (by Caribbean standards ), with drinks delivered promptly, even during a busy lunch rush. There is no rum punch on the menu but they have it and it's refreshingly delicious. My husband ordered the Diablo cocktail - also yummy! I read that the conch fritters were great - I'm not sure I'd say "great." They are flat and a little dry with more a suggestion of conch flavor rather than discernible chunks of conch. Still if you've got a hankering, it's convenient and they are tasty - especially the sauce. They come with 3 in the order. Hubs ordered the fish sandwich with fries and enjoyed it although he noted the ketchup was sweeter and thinner than US style ketchup. He liked it. I ordered the pan fried (grilled) grouper that came with a home-style cole slaw and seasoned rice with a few black beans mixed in. Tartar sauce came in a squirt bottle and lemon on the side. The fish was seasoned well and priced great. I heard others around us raving about the fish and chips, too. There is a vegetarian section on their menu but I don't know how easy it would be to get anything vegan except a salad. At the end you walk up to the bar / hostess area to collect your check and pay. They take visa and Mastercard and have prices on their menu in both the local currency and US dollars. They clearly are happy to cater to cruise ship passengers! Great laid back place.
