I came here to give this place one last try. My reward? I got banned. My usual massage spots were booked, so I stopped in and asked for a 30-minute hot stone massage. The man at the front immediately tried to upsell me to a 1 hour and 45-minute massage. I politely declined. The massage I received was awful. The therapist clearly didn't know what she was doing--stones were slipping, falling, and at one point, she was just stacking them on my back, doing nothing. I eventually told her to forget the stones and just focus on my neck, which was the only part that felt remotely okay. After the session, I was told--for the first time--that there would be a $4 credit card fee. I asked if I could pay part cash, part card, but he pretended not to understand me. I ended up paying full price--$54 for a 30-minute massage I didn't really get. Still, I kept quiet about the quality to avoid embarrassing the therapist, and I left a $3 tip. That's when the man at the front yelled at me for not tipping more. He told me that in NYC, a 20% tip is required. I explained that I tipped based on the service I received, but he kept pushing, loudly, in front of other customers. When I said, "Excuse me, that's rude," and reminded him that tipping is at my discretion, he continued yelling and finally told me to never come back--then physically pushed me out of the store. What's wild is that this wasn't even my first bad experience here. During a previous visit, the same man interrupted my massage midway and tried to switch in as the therapist himself. I told him that made me uncomfortable, and I left that time feeling unsettled too. Between the horrible service, hidden fees, aggressive behavior, and the fact that I paid for a massage I didn't receive properly--this place is an absolute no. I was in need of a good, relaxing, sixty-minute foot massage and gave this place a try based on the reviews. Tiny place with only three chairs. Nice staff but kinda hard to relax while they are eating crunchy food at the front desk, one chair away. Just too small for the staff to work and customers to relax. The one thing that made me cringe is when another customer came in for a thirty minute foot massage. The male masseuse didn't wash the customers feet and then dipped his fingers into the same massage lotion that my masseuse was using! Party foul!! Massage was really bad. I had 90 mins and could not wait for it to be over. The guy refused to massage legs because he said "it was too hard for him", although he spoke very bad English, so maybe he had some other reason.. At the end I left tips just to be polite and the guy told me "you must leave 25%" I told me not to come back. So I won't ! Wow talk about night and day. I went in today for a massage not knowing new owners have since taken over LeeSpa and it's all bad smh. I thought the previous 2 star review might've had bad luck with her masseuse but she was absolutely right. Hey, I'm all for an intense massage to work out a few kinks but if I request a mild massage I shouldn't feel achy and sore once it's finished. If you're looking for a little R&R, I would avoid this place at all costs. The last time I was here (summer '18) Michelle was running the place, I loved receiving massages from her or Helen. Walking in and seeing two brand new faces was a "ok where's the regular employees" moment. Never the less, I gave it a go and regret the experience as a whole. Extremely rough! No real technique, no real sense of motions, no level of intensity, just aggressive rubbing and weird digging patterns finished off with uncomfortable stretching positions. I use to be a personal trainer so I know the proper way to stretch someone, not to mention knowing your limitations as the person doing the stretching. I'm 5'10 200 lbs, the "therapist" must've been half my weight and size, she tried a few positions before quickly realizing my legs were too long and heavy for the techniques she so desperately tried. After 45 mins of this very weird rolfing freestyle of a massage, I get dressed and go to pay with my debit card as I always do. I'm told they aren't accepting credit cards right now......ok? It's a debit card the same as cash, they recant and say the machine is down....meanwhile the card machine is lit up, you can smell the scam already. Not only do they suggest I go to the ATM but the girl who just gave me the massage will escort me LOLOL oh honey this is going downhill and very quick at that. We go to the ATM and come back, I give them my LeeSpa card to sign and a coupon I have yet to use. Here goes the antics, that's not our coupon...yes it is, no it's not, yes the hell it is and I'm not leaving without you accepting it. Clearly you're new and must not know of these coupons, but it belongs to this location, it's how I found out about you guys. After the back and forth I ask, where's the regular woman I speak to when I come, Michelle? Oh she's not here, well where is she? She's the old boss we have new boss, okay where's the new boss? They text the new boss and he replies he's the new owner and doesn't honor coupons regardless if it's valid. Oh ok, so I'm giving you what I owe less the ten dollars I was going to save with the coupon plus No TIP! Went here for a foot massage after work. Will not be going back . They will charge a fee when you pay on credit card and also made oay a 20% tip for a so so massage. Dont like the fact that they made me pay a 20% tip . And the massage wasnt even great!! Will not be going back and will advise anyone else against going there as well read more

Wonderful reflexology foot massage! Sea salt soak, reflexology, massage, followed by hot stone rub on my feet! Lots of popping and completely decreased the swelling in my feet and calves! Pros: Very Tiny Cute place. Tastefully decorated. Staff seem nice. greet you graciously and in a welcoming manner. You can pay by card. Cons: 90F and humid in NYC and these people dont have the air conditioning on. After they see you sweating, they turn the a/c on for about 20 mins and then turn it off again. Insanity. I would have paid for more services since I'm feeling pretty beat up these days but I couldn't wait to leave due to the lack of a/c. This is a tiny space and the staff are eating 3 feet away from you, have their food containers everywhere, are putting away their eating tables etc ... while you are trying to relax. Had a very bizarre experience here. Massage was $55 so I gave them $80 and asked for $13 in change ($12 tip, basically a 22% tip). The guy at the front desk told me it was too low and continued to make comments and needle me for a bigger tip. I finally gave up and just asked for $10 back, which is what he was waiting for. Scheduled an appointment for the 60 min massage because I was intrigued by the $5 discount for massages booked from 11-3pm. I was not pleased with my massage therapist. The massage was very painful and very rushed. I continually asked for less pressure and because of how rough and fast she was going it was impossible to relax. I've had a lot of massages and this was by far the worst. It was more like a beat down. I was charged as well for using my debit card so never even saved money at the end. To start: Bring cash to avoid paying a card fee. Otherwise, I was so impressed with this place. I had lived around the corner for about a year and a half and never went in. After a super stressful week, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. If you want to lie there and relax for an hour, this is not your place. But if you want someone to work on your knots and reduce inflammation and tension, this is your place. This was maybe the best massage I've ever had, not just for the price. It was definitely painful, but given how tense I was, I was totally expecting (welcoming, even) pain. The therapist was a great communicator, asking if I wanted more or less pressure (more, please), and afterward gave me water and told me what to expect soreness-wise for the next couple days.
