This was my first Thai massage - so I did not know what to expect. I just knew that my neck and shoulders have been absolutely killing me (bad posture, too much iPad time, etc) - and I could not put off getting a massage any longer. First of all, the massage room is inside the Spoil Me salon in a Mountain View shopping center. This is not a spa! You do not come here with girlfriends for a bridal shower and expect cucumber water or fluffy robes! You come here because you are in pain and want to feel better! I requested a deep therapeutic massage and it was 90 min of painful bliss. Pain because my shoulders and neck are one big knot - and bliss because Bill basically undoes the knot! He gave me a lot of advice about stretching and exercises to loosen me up - which I really appreciated. The massage is very active and intense (although you can request a relaxing soft massage too). There is a ton of stretching which I was not used to - I usually fall asleep during massages, but not this time! I will be a regular here - thank you Bill! read more

I had a painful twisted knee with an X Ray showing 2 popped tendons - OUCH! I had problems walking down stairs and walking almost anywhere. I was hesitant as my luck with massage therapists was not great. Don't let the humble massage room in a beauty shop deter you: Give "Bill" a chance you won't regret! Bill provides really deep tissue massage for those twisted muscles. He says some people actually scream in the process - I confess to tears rolling down my cheeks. He had personal knowledge of most of my problems and gladly shared all kinds of health tips. After about 3 sessions I noticed a significant difference: I no longer had to hold onto the rails when descending stairs, my walking was much steadier, I no longer had to place a pillow under my knee while I slept. I also had a hiatal hernia wherein the top of my stomach distended into my esophagus causing difficulty in swallowing. Bill said that the entire body was connected. Amazingly enough, work on my legs would extend to resolve the hiatal hernia. I must confess that I was skeptical since an endoscopy revealed nothing - even as I knew something was there. While some of the hiatal hernia still exists, I get the pain only occasionally. In the last two weeks I experienced only two painful episodes. This is wonderful! A few more visits and I believe that hiatal hernia will be gone. Wonderful! read more

I came in for a 90 minute Thai massage and it was worth the wait for this. I originally purchased a massage back in January but couldn't get any bookings until now. I had to reschedule once and that set me back 1 month. But it's so worth it. Bill tended to my every problem area, my neck and back and shoulders. He took time to force deep pressure to loosen up my neck and shoulders. It felt truly truly amazing. He also stretched my back, released joint pressure and even did a pop thing on my neck which I didn't know I needed until now. It had a very chiropractor feel to It at some points but otherwise really flowing and comfortable. I didn't experience too much pain, just the hurts so good type of pain! It is not meant to be super soothing so you may be in some pain during the massage. But believe me will you feel amazing after! Bill Tang moved his massage shop to new digs at Star Thai Massage in Sunnyvale. It is much nicer than the old hair salon. Bill deserved this new space to perform his magic. You tell Bill where the sore muscles are located and he targets the problem areas and muscle groups. He is a master in the art of massage and it feels great. Bill has very strong hands and fingers and he goes non-stop for one hour. He does deep muscle massage that causes what I call pleasant pain. The massage packages are reasonable priced too. I was REALLY disappointed with my massage with Bill. I went in with lots of back pain. I told him this, prior, and it also came up that i have been running a lot. He was rude enough to tell me I was overweight - this on my first visit/appt. Not what i want to hear when I"m forking out big $ for a massage. I've had a lot, and i mean a lot of massages in my life. None was as painful as this. I did ask for strong on the intake sheet, yes. However, at least 5x during the massage I had asked for less pressure, saying too much, or making facial expressions that i was in pain. He did not adjust at all. I am hurting well after the massage. I see people on yelp love that he does these massages on the more 'painful side' . I did not expect it to be that painful. I also noticed a stain on the sheet, makes me wonder about the cleanliness. Needless to stay, I will not be back. And after all that, after i generously tipped 20%, he tried to get 25% after asking me. read more

This place is truly a gem. It's difficult to find a massage therapist that not only treats the symptoms of your problems but is competent in identifying and addressing the root causes. I've tried a handful of different places in California and a handful of places all over Southeast Asia, and Bill has been the most effective. It is not your relaxing massage that only feels good in the moment, rather it is the "it hurts so good" type of massage that is truly restorative. The moment I knew he truly knew what he was doing was when he was troubleshooting my neck issues. With one hand, he pressed on the tender part of my neck that was in pain, and with the other hand, he found the root cause of the problem that was located in my shoulder. When he pressed down on my shoulder, the pain on my neck disappeared for that short moment (felt like magic!) - then he massaged the heck out of my shoulder. He knows his pressure points well and is well versed in how each part of the body is interconnected. Another bonus - at the end of each session, he'll ask if I'd like my neck and back cracked, which feels amazing! Bill also has a friendly and endearing personality. He goes above and beyond and has given me tips on my sleeping position and my ergonomics while working. I enjoy our conversations and he helps me remember the basics - staying hydrated, the importance of meditation, and focusing on one thing at a time. Woke up this morning with a painful knot in my shoulder, such that I could barely turn my neck. Found this place on Yelp and booked an afternoon appointment for 90 minutes. When I arrived Bill gave me a form to fill out about my issues. I indicated my shoulders were a problem and circled "strong" massage. Bill is the most skilled masseuse I have ever encountered. He used a variety of techniques to work on my shoulder issue, and it was definitely painful. He did not follow any preset routine like other typical massage places, but kept asking me for feedback after every procedure. As my shoulder experienced incremental improvement with every iteration, he would dive right back in and apply a different technique to work at the problem area. After the allotted 90 minutes I would say the knot was perhaps 75% resolved. I was at the limits of the amount of pain I could take in one session, but I was satisfied since I felt much looser and could now turn my neck and head. Another benefit was that Bill was able to advise me on what physical activities were causing my knot, to hopefully avoid ending up in this state again. I'll definitely be back for him to finish working on my knots and work on other areas of my body. read more

Bill is got the incredible skills for Thai massage. I got the deep tissue massage for 2 hours. It's wasn't relax at all when he is fixing me because I have too much tight spots all over. I don't know what Bill does but it works! I return home relaxed, I sleep well for at least a couple of days after the massage. I keep thinking, "that was really worth the $$" The first time we met, he wanted to know what type of pressure he should use. My response - "I don't know". I had had massage before but couldn't articulate what it was I was looking for. I have been very stressed and wanted to get a massage, any massage, as part of "self-care". The reviews here were great, however one review suggested Thai Massage may not be the most appropriate for relaxation as a lot of strength is used. In addition, I come from a culture where it is uncommon for a woman to get a massage from a male masseuse. Would I be uncomfortable? I did read that the recipient is fully clothed in a Thai massage, and one review by a lady reassured me that it would be a comfortable experience. Notwithstanding these concerns, I purchased the first time customer package. It was just ok during the massage the first time, but I slept so well that night, and felt relaxed in the bones the next day. I am now a regular. Thank you Bill! read more

This was my first Thai massage but it will NOT be my last. Bill started by asking what areas had been bothering me most (upper back, neck), but he found spots that were tight in my legs and feet that I hadn't even noticed! He was AMAZING. I was in so much pain but it was a good pain, if that makes sense. By the end, my entire body was totally loose and relaxed. I plan to come back at least once a month. Found this place via Groupon several years back & now, just writing a review. Part of me don't want to share for selfish reasons, but Bill certainly deserves a review. If you want a gentle, relaxing massage, then this place is not for you. Come here for the best physical therapy massage you'll ever have. I think Bill is one of the top massage therapists I've ever been to. He has the knack for finding all the sore knots & working them. Note that he applies very, very firm pressure so expect to be very sore the next day. He's professional, clean, prompt, but does not rush; sometimes going over the allotted time. My father is 91 years old and is mostly paralyzed on his left side, from a stroke in 2005. Over the last 7 years, he has ability to stand and move has slowly declined. When visiting California this summer, Dad saw Bill 3 times for acupressure/massage treatment. From these sessions, his withered left arm/wrist/hand relaxed and opened maybe 75%, we could rotate his foot and ankle for the first time in years, and his standing ability improved enormously. Bill is a talented and professional healer. I'm a med student and his knowledge of referred pain and treatment is accurate. He methodically approaches connected systems. He's a warm guy who cares for his clients. Bill uses his whole body, a good energy exchange and gives 120%. He accommodated the massage so that I could be in a more comfortable position. Just ask if you need to change pressure, stretch deeper or are curious about why a technique is effective. His approach is geared toward fixing the problem at its cause versus a relaxing swedish massage. Try to breathe through the pain and it'll be worth it. My pain was chronic such that I didn't realize how nice it feels to rotate my neck with a wider range of motion. Consider the expense as health care because it is painful at times but you get results versus going to a spa. read more

I've been to several thai massages in SF and although they've been good, there was an obvious difference in the level of quality and attention that Bill provided. Unlike other places that immediately jump right into it, and walk/step all over you (literally and figuratively), i felt as though Bill really wanted to help me get the most of my massage. My 95 minute massage turned into a 2 hour experience (at no extra charge) because he was really intent on helping me work out a troublesome spot on my back that just wouldn't relax. I had been trying to find a good thai massage place in the south bay and ended up purchasing a Groupon for a 95 minute massage for LeeLaWaDee. LeeLaWaDee is located in Spoil Me Salon in Mountainview off of El Camino and was very easy to find. The back room in which he works out of is clean, modest and filled with the scent of balms. He provides the typical pajama-like bottoms and top that other places provide. For my massage, I showed up early to Spoil Me Salon and lucky for me, Bill wasn't with a customer so we were able to start early. Bill asked me to indicate on a little diagram what areas I wanted to focus on and asked me questions about my health, what kind of work I do (sitting at a computer all day), my level of exercise and then offered me little tidbits of advice throughout the massage. I'm usually not a talker during massages but i was interested in what he had to say. I'm pretty sure if I had kept quiet or not responded as much he would have let me drift away to the sounds of the music and little water fountain in the room. It started with a paraffin foot bath (similar to what I get during my pedicures) which was left on for the entirety of the massage. Bill was extremely thorough with all the pressure points and in the places where I was the most tight, he focused his attention. He offered to get rid of two large knots that I had in my upper shoulders (I never realized you could actually do that!). He warned that it would probably hurt for a few days after but I feel SO much better now. The heating pads were great and really eased some of the tension in my muscles as he worked specific areas. As the massage progressed i could feel my body getting looser and looser and as the stretches continued, the tension started to dissipate. Bill is very agreeable and is very communicative. If you need to ask him to ease up on pressure, just speak up. He's very accommodating. I'm looking forward to my next visit with Bill. I came here because my neck was KILLING me. My pillows are not the most comfy pillows. It was hard for me to look down without feeling a horrible pull. I booked a 90 minute massage at a Spa earlier in the week and it was a waste of $100. So two days later, I went on Groupon to find the best massage deal so that I wouldn't have to waste another $100. I purchased the Groupon for the 65 min massage. I booked my appointment online the night before for an early 9AM appointment before work. I was pretty upset because their option for Groupon voucher doesn't really work so I ended up having to pay the full $79. When I arrived, I couldn't find the suite. I was getting kind of irritated because I had to pay full price, and I wasn't aware that LeeLaWaDee was INSIDE another salon. This information was not on my receipt or booking information... Bill came out to have me fill out a form of where I was having issues and he tried to resolve the whole Groupon credit thing. Unfortunately, my Groupon was redeemed and I still paid full price. (This was later resolved.) I wasn't feeling great about the place and thought I had just wasted more money on BS massages. When we got inside the room, I changed into a very loose outfit that was provided. He then got to work. Bill was AMAZING. He really focuses on "fixing the problem". He definitely loosened up my neck. Every point that he put pressure on hurt so bad but felt sooooo good. He is REALLY good at what he does. He also gives great advice on how to avoid getting headaches, lower back pains, and tension...and the most amazing part.......... My leg has been numb from an incident that happened 7 years ago... I was under the impression that it was going to be numb forever since I was stabbed in the leg. I am not able to feel my leg from the cut (bottom of my thigh) to about 3 inches down from my knee cap. He got some feeling into my leg by loosening up my leg so that the blood circulation could flow through! I was actually really shocked because I didn't think it was possible. Had I known that it only takes a good massage to get my leg to function normally, I would've done this a long time ago. I'm truly glad that I found Bill. I feel bad that I only took a $10 tip with me inside because I wasn't expecting much out of it. He definitely deserved a $20+ tip. He gave me credit for another massage since my Groupon was already redeemed. Despite the mishaps it was still an overall great experience . I will DEFINITELY be coming back regularly. read more

My husband and I have been searching for a good Thai massage place, and am so glad that we stumbled upon Bill! We have had many Thai massages in Thailand, and elsewhere around SE Asia and can definitely say without a doubt that Bill knows what he is doing. He combines acupressure with traditional Thai massage and catered my massage to a few problem areas I had. He took time to really work on my neck and shoulder areas and this is the first time in a long time that I actually feel like the kinks were all worked out. Bill checks in often to make sure the pressure is good (I tend to like medium to firm pressure) and adjusted as I asked. If you've never had a Thai massage, don't be afraid to let Bill know if you need more pressure or less! I found LeeLaWaDee via Groupon for what was supposed to be for a 95 minute massage -- Bill went way over that at no charge. Unlike other massage and spa places where everything is down to the minute, you can tell that he was less concerned with the time, and more concerned with making sure that he did a good job for his customer. My husband and I both agreed that he did an excellent job. His regular prices seem very reasonable and we will pay full price and go back without hesitation. Give Bill a try, you won't be disappointed! Side note: Bill runs LeeLaWaDee Thai out of a small, but comfortable room, in a hair salon that is located in the same strip mall parking lot as Amber India. I suffer from chronic pain (medically diagnosed) throughout my body, but particularly my left shoulder and hip. This was the result of a car accident six years ago for which I was in physical therapy to regain range of motion, strength, and mobility for three years. I saw Bill today at LeeLaWaDee for a two hour session. Bill was punctual, professional, and accurately aware of the pains of my body just by touch and feel. His special technique of combining Thai stretching and pulling, deep tissue massaging, sports therapy, and chiropractic movements was incredibly healing. Bill is strong with the use of his fingers, hands, forearm, knee, and legs to assist with the massaging process, making it very effective and thorough. I've been meaning to write a review for quite some time so here it is. I found this place through a Groupon offering. My significant other had a Thai massage while on business in Thailand and hated it but I thought to give it a try. Bill is AWESOME! This type of massage is not for people who want something relaxing like at a Rosewood Resort. I've had various issues with my tennis elbow, knees and now lower back. Bill knows how to work out all the knots and tight muscles. I no longer need a brace for my elbow when I play tennis, my knees don't bother me quite so much and Bill is currently working on my lower back but my pain has dropped from an 8 (on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most painful) to a 4. He's always giving me health tips and various stretches to do as I'm not very flexible. Since my first massage, I have now purchased the package of 65 minute sessions. Another great thing about Bill is that he's not a clock watcher. I'm not sure if I've had one session that has stopped at the 65 minute marker because Bill is so focused on making sure the kinks and knots are worked out before he stops. Overall, I think Bill is wonderful and my form of a physical therapist. If I want the spa massage/experience, then I wil go and get one. However, being very active and always sidelined with one injury or another, Bill is my go to guy so I can continue with my activities! I highly recommend him! read more

Booking online was really convenient, especially at the last minute. I was not able to find a deal, but it was worth the full price. Bill really tried to figure out what was causing my pain and worked it out. This was my 3rd Thai massage and by far the best. I was super tense and needed a ton of work in my shoulders and boy did he work them out! Know that there will be some pain involved in a Thai massage and you WILL be sore afterward for a day or maybe 2, but you will feel so much better for it. This is no Swedish massage. read more

I have to admit that this way my first Thai massage ever. I am not sure if it's this place or Thai massages in general, but I just don't get it. Most stretches were less effective than what I do on my own in the gym. The deep tissue massage was confusing as well. It felt like every muscle got its 5 seconds of attention, regardless of whether it needed 5 minutes of attention or no attention at all. I prefer the approach of my regular deep tissue + Swedish massage therapist: she really works every knot she finds, at the expense of not giving a thorough "full-body" massage in 90 minutes. I deducted one point because I didn't like the message. I deducted another point because I couldn't find the place and had to call for directions. (It's in the back of "Spoil Me Spa.") My massage therapist was very nice and considerate. I personally won't return but I could imagine others liking this place. If you like Thai massages, give it a try. read more

At that time, it felt amazing but later on I realized what blunder was committed. My left ankle was in pain. I told him that. He massaged that area really hard. I kept on saying that the pressure was too much. He said that the pain is up in the leg somewhere and now after a day, I am unable to move my leg. My ankle is in horrible pain. read more

Wow! Bill knows what he is doing. I purchased a living social deal and went to see him recently. He is from Thailand and really knows a lot about body. i have several injuries but he pinpointed exactly, even adjusted some alignment. Although at time it was painful (I asked for medium to hard for massage strength, but he is a strong guy), it was well worth it. You can always ask for soft and he can do so as well. I believe he can do massage for relaxation, but I selected to get serious work on my body for multiple pain and stiffness. it's been several days after I had the massage, but my body really feels much better. The first night, my body has some pain, but if you get a real workout on your body that often happens. At the end of the session I already booked for my next appointment. Once you are in the room which is inside a beauty salon, you will be asked to change into loose clothes he provides. I recommend bringing a towel to put on the face rest on the massage table or you can grab one clean one from the bathroom I guess. I was not 100% sure if the face rest was changed at the end of each session. So just to be safe, I'm bringing a towel or something. But otherwise the place was nice and clean. He puts paraffin wrap on your feet at the beginning and keeps them on until the end of session which was nice. I have been to many places for massage, but he was really good. read more
