Easiest 5 stars I've ever given. My wife and I just came home loose, relaxed, and feeling extra stretchy. This is after a 90-minute couples massage. Wifey got the Traditional Thai and I opted for the Deep Tissue. First, I like to lift. I've been lifting for 25+ years. Sometimes with good form, many times with my ego and form goes out the door. Over these past few years, I've developed consistent and nagging pains in so many areas of my body. I have Biofreeze cream, several ice packs, a Theragun Pro, stretch bands. In addition, I've frequented many massage places ranging from $20 foot massages (early 2010s) to $300 luxury spa massages. Nothing gave me solid relief.... Until I went here and got the best massage in my entire life. Ken is the nicest guy in the world and gave me a VERY specific and targeted massage in my problem areas (shoulders, chest, forearms, glutes, calves). This was no generic foot massage. It was intentional, precise, and customized. I've never felt more loose, relaxed, and ready to LIFT again than after a massage with Ken. Additionally, his story of wanting to help others by alleviating their pain after his own lower back injury was so sweet to hear. Also, my wife's masseuse was JoJo and JoJo is a gem as well. Since moving to SV & my new job I've been going here. These massage therapists know what they are doing and they offer different massage therapy techniques. NaNa/YaYa, I've only had her once but she was amazing and then she left back home :( she was amazing ! However I also had Penkawee the front/manager couple of times and another therapist who are great! I've tried the deep tissue, traditional Swedish, & Thai Swedish combo. All are amazing. I can't say which is my favorite bc I've gone for different occasions. They do stretching in all of them and have some acupuncture pressure points. Nana told me to try a full Thai massage however, I need to prepare for it. I've gone for various MSK injuries and just for relaxation. I just had a Swedish with Penkawee for stress and tension of my upper back & neck due to work and my body feels like butter. I also had a deep tissue massage with her for sports injury and it was so good that I didn't need to come back for a couple of months. They have male therapists for stronger pressure and for deep tissue, medium-strong is just right for me. I really like how they emphasize the different techniques and they are different. You are not paying just for the same massage with different prices. I also appreciate how they focus on trouble spots that you mark so every massage is different based on area of concerns. I never post reviews, but after the third negative experience in a row at this place, I felt compelled to. This place used to be really good but I think they changed management recently in the past few months. First negative experience: appointment cancelled on the spot despite getting a confirmation text the day of. Second negative experience: the massage provider apologized mid massage for being too big to walk on my back (which is the normal practice). Third negative experience: I get a call before the massage asking me strange questions about my therapist being too tired because she'll have too many clients, yet they forced me to keep the appointment. I showed up, and the front desk receptionist offered the message in a couples room (obviously a sign that they overbooked themselves). I walked out immediately. Never ever coming back here. My friend and I booked a 90-minute Thai combination couples massage at Star Thai Massage, and the experience was great overall. Parking was convenient with plenty of street options nearby, and the check-in process was seamless--we quickly filled out a short intake form with the receptionist. We were asked to remove our shoes before being escorted to our room, which added to the authentic and calming ambiance of the space. The massage itself was excellent. While some parts were a bit intense, it was the kind of discomfort that feels therapeutic, and I left feeling much more relaxed and refreshed. Be ready for this! Amy was amazing! Her strength and her ability to work on your knots and then stretch you back to a more normal range of motion was impressive. If you haven't had a traditional Thai massage, I recommend you give Amy a try. I've been to many massage places and this one left me feeling like a new person. Came by the other day for a traditional Thai massage and it was a great experience! Called in the morning for an appointment in the afternoon and they were able to accommodate! Street parking was plentiful. Checked in with the receptionist that was wearing a chin guard and filled in the patient intake form before shown my room. The room had two walls and curtains to the hallway and to the room next door. There was a massage table in the room along with sheets covering the table. The masseur started off with a warm towel on the feet then proceeded to walk across different areas of my body, including my back, arm, legs, thighs. Pressure was strong and fantastic! Interestingly enough, despite requesting a traditional Thai massage, there was an oil portion for the back which I thought was slightly odd. This was my first time seeing this doctor and I thought it went alright. I wasn't sure what to expect but I ended up feeling comfortable talking through some issues that I normally put off. The waiting room was a bit cold and not much seating but the staff kept things moving. The doctor took their time and really explained things in a way that didn't feel rushed. They made eye contact and didn't seem glued to the computer the whole time like I've seen in other places. They asked about family history and went over my past records before making any comments which made it seem like they cared about the big picture. I liked how they didn't jump to any strong conclusions right away but instead suggested a few practical steps and told me what signs to watch for. After the appointment they made sure I understood what to follow up on and the assistant gave me some notes to take home. It's nice when things are explained without being too technical. Phenomenal Got squeezed in last minute, and they were really accommodating! I had tweaked my neck/shoulder by sleeping on it at a weird angle, and I've honestly been stressed out. I came in, frantic and indecisive, wondering if I should circle the "strong" pressure instead of a lighter option... I eventually did I mean it when I say: it hurt so good I felt almost healed (but realistically sore). I was a walk in and didn't know how long a wait was going to be but spoke with the lady at the front desk who happened to be the owner as well and was told 1/2 hour. I came here yesterday for a massage for the very first time and it was fantastic! Relaxing massage, good price (especially the early bird special 10am - 2pm), and nice environment overall. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time and filled out the intake form where there's a diagram for you to circle areas on your body that you want them to pay attention to. I was then shown to my room where I got changed into a pair of flowy pants that they provided. The masseuse started out with no oils and massaged my upper and lower body before moving on to using oil all over. She definitely knew what she was doing and it felt great to have all of my muscles stretched and pulled. Overall a great place for a massage and I will definitely be back! I have gotten 2 deep tissue massages and 1 thai massage here, and all were done by YaYa. She is absolutely amazing at deep tissue massage and will focus on your problem areas. Her thai massage was very good too, but if you have deep knots and tension like me, I would most highly recommend deep tissue by her. I always leave feeling sooo relaxed and during the massage I'm almost in a trance since it feels so good! She is also very sweet, and the prices of both massages are reasonable for this area (Thai = $90, Deep tissue = $120 (so worth it)- not including tip!) One thing I would recommend is to make sure you get a confirmation message once you schedule or else you may not be officially booked (this happened to me today, but luckily they were still able to take me). They always send a text after you book. If not, they have a helpful receptionist you can always call to double check & confirm your appointment. I chose medium pressure but this was my first Thai massage and I had to ask for less pressure especially around my neck; she was very accommodating and asked a few times if the pressure was ok. They also ask for permission if they can walk on your back (over the sheet) and it's only a short portion of the hour. The masseuse and staff were friendly and the facility was nice. My husband booked a last minute massage for me yesterday. My back pain was getting worse and worse. By yesterday morning I couldn't really walk. It was awful. Today I could probably do back flips. I dreammm of this place! I'm from out of town, couldn't get a last-min booking anywhere, and I found this sketchy place around the corner. I didn't make an appointment obviously. The lady tried her best to call clients to reschedule to accommodate me, no luck. I still appreciate the effort. So I waited an hour for a deep tissue. I felt like Daniel didn't need to read my chart. The instant he touched my body, he knew what needed fixing. He found cracks I didn't know I needed. If it took a while to crack, he'd know. He's insanely professional and you can tell he's the real deal straight from Thailand. I specifically wanted to fix a knot in my lower back. It felt better afterwards, but it took another day before it finally went away. The plus is, the rest of my body feels better and that wasn't even my goal.
