$275.00 Price was higher than what I expected. But service maintenance was excellent. John Lee got the the 65 year old O'keefe-Merritt stove working smoothly again. Ten day wait for appointment. I Recommend them. Two person company, the wife answers the phone.

Although I was not the direct customer, my landlord utilized Lee's Appliance for the repair of our gas oven. The technician who came was John. He was excellent - a true professional who knows what he's doing. John confirmed right away that the igniter needed replacement, and expertly installed a new one - he was prepared in advance for the service call. On top of that, also a nice person. Lee's is fortunate to have him, and top notch service deserves a 5 star rating. PS - oven is working like brand new, better than before the igniter went out :)

Worth the longish wait. Have 1950's Wedgewood I replaced few items on stove but still having issues. John showed up with face covering. And tools in hand. Totally professional. While repairing one issue, found railing rivet popped away from inside stove got his drill and few minutes later repaired.Has knowledge of my Wedgewood inside out. Gave a full cleaning of burners and pilots. Adjusted and set stove temperature and stayed until all was Perfect.

    back in business!

I literally just made a Yelp account to write this review. My 1950's O'Keefe & Merritt stove busted a leak, and it was clear that something was pretty wrong internally. I was emotionally preparing myself to be stove-less for several weeks while I tracked down a person familiar with antique stoves, and ordered all the parts, which are no longer in production. I got in contact with John and he came over right away with the refurbished parts already with him!! He disassembled the whole stove and swapped out the broken part in around an hour. He even found a small secondary leak and fixed that. I cannot believe how lucky I got in contacting him. I've honestly not had the pleasure of meeting many people as good at their job as he is. If you have an antique stove, definitely give him a ring.

Later, I had another problem as the fridge started making an odd noise. Initially, Vadym suspected it was the compressor fan, but the issue persisted. This issue had actually been lingering for a long time, I had at least four or five other companies came to diagnose the noise issue, each offering different quick opinions--some barely inspected it and suggested immediate part replacements, others insisted the fridge needed to be pulled out (which is a big job for a built-in unit) and fix from the back of the fridge. But none felt confident, they all rushed to conclusions without a proper diagnosis. Vadym stood out by taking the time. He thoroughly examined the fridge and, when the issue persisted, he consulted his network instead of guessing. Eventually, he figured out the noise was caused by the condenser pipe and water pipe being too close, which caused vibration when the compressor kicked in. In the end, he fixed it. What I truly appreciated was his commitment, he didn't rush to a quick guess; he invested time, asked for input, and returned until it was resolved. I would highly recommend Vadym and Metro Appliance to others.

Thor's own certified service providers were no better (one declined the brand, the other ghosted). Gold Standard had 259 five-star reviews, so my wife reached out through Yelp on November 20. It took two weeks and a follow-up message (plus a voicemail) before Cristhian responded. He came out on December 8, diagnosed the issue, and quoted us $272.30 + tax for the part and $310 for labor. We paid $85 for the diagnosis and told him to go ahead and order the part. Then, silence. My wife followed up on December 16. No response. Again on December 18, this time saying we'd find someone else if he couldn't commit to a date. He finally replied, saying the part was backordered and wouldn't arrive until mid-to-late January. We said we'd wait. Late January came. My wife followed up again. Cristhian said he'd call the supplier "real quick." A few days later he reported the supplier wasn't answering his calls or emails. He said he'd look into alternatives. My wife followed up again on February 10, offering to source the part herself if he'd just tell her the part number. No response. On February 28, after three months of this, we sent a final message letting him know we were moving on. Cristhian never replied. Summary: we paid $85 for a diagnosis, got a quote that was never acted on, sent roughly ten messages over three months, and received maybe four replies. The part was apparently never procured. His phone always went to voicemail. I'm writing this because the 5-star rating doesn't reflect our experience. Hopefully Cristhian will respond and resolve the issue quickly, and/or refund the $85 diagnosis fee.

Do not go with this company…read more Across two recent service visits, this company's technician damaged our hardwood floor and later left our oven out of position. When I shared photographic evidence, management disputed what I had seen with my own eyes and resisted putting things right. Floor damage: During the first visit, the technician dropped the top panel of our range onto our hardwood floor, leaving two visible gouges. I saw it happen, as did a handyman working in the house. When I reported it the same day with photos, management deflected responsibility. First that nothing was dropped, then that the gouges were "older damage," then that a panel "brushed against a cabinet handle" with edges "physically impossible" to cause the marks. Three incompatible accounts. Only after I declined a $50 discount on a $322 bill did they waive the labor, while continuing to petulantly insist I was mistaken about what I had seen. Oven left out of position: On the follow-up visit, the technician failed to return the oven to its original position causing significant downstream issues. When I asked them to put it right, management again shirked responsibility. They claimed it had been put there because to go further back would be a gas-line "safety issue". They told me to hire PG&E or a plumber. The crazy part: this same company correctly placed this exact oven in 2022. The oven has sat in that position for ten years. They just didn't want to finish the job, so they made up a story. The pattern across both incidents: argue with the customer, cycle through contradictory and defensive explanations, resist taking ownership. EDIT: To see for yourself, read the owner's reply. He continues to deflect responsibility for the wood gouges they caused (a concerning pattern of telling the customer they are wrong), and doubling down on a fabricated issue regarding the gas line (if true, why wasn't it a problem for the same company 4 years ago?) Photos of their negligent work attached. Hire someone else.

I chose this company based off the great reviews, and I wasn't sorry. They were very easy to communicate with, and it was extremely easy to schedule an inspection. Their tech arrived on time, and accessed the rooftop with his own equipment. He provided me with an explanation (and pictures) of what was wrong, and a verbal estimate of the cost to repair it. He sent a written estimate that day, and I booked them for the work. He was here a coupe of days later as planned, completed the work, and now we have functioning air conditioning for the first time in years. The entire process was quick, easy, and most importantly, they did what they said they were going to do when they said they would. I will definitely use them again.

What bothered me most was that when I questioned them, their explanation kept changing. First it was the compressor, then an "open line," then a high-voltage breaker issue. That is not a diagnosis I can trust, or a diagnosis based in true process of elimination testing to arrive at the core issue. I've been running a restaurant for nearly 20 years, and I've seen this pattern many times before: jump straight to the most expensive repair. In my experience, this felt like either incompetence or an attempt to oversell a job that wasn't needed. I will never use them again, and I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any HVAC work from Next HVAC.
