Searched ebay to find a part for Viking STOVE: $130.00, bought a special viking tool that didn't even work:$75. Called John and he came the same day, fixed the stove with the original part and cost me a fraction of my total cost and educated me on what was wrong and how the oven goes apart. Priceless. Our Maytag Gemini ovens both gave out and we were left without anyway of using them Help was needed urgently. I yelped around and found a local business near our house with good reviews. I called them but they don't repair gas ovens and so they referred me to Lee's Appliances. What a great experience. John was able to come out that day and spend about an hour diagnosing and then replacing the igniters in both ovens. He was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. A nice friendly guy. He even hung around after the installation to make sure the broiler would also work (it needs the oven to be heated up to turn on). Great service. The parts were $140 and the labour was $115. read more

Excellent work! John explained things as he went along fixing the short that caused my oven to stop working. He took the time to check everything out, replaced the damaged item & made sure the oven was in great working order before he packed up his tools. I'd give more than five stars if I could - this is a family business run by nice people who know what they're doing and do it well. I called on a Friday afternoon because two burners on our gas stove weren't lighting properly and the oven wasn't igniting. Stephanie was friendly, professional, took down all my information and said John could be here Monday. He was right on time, diagnosed the problems right away, and explained what he was going to do to make the repairs. He showed me the worn-out part that needed replacing and had a new one right there on his truck, so the whole repair job was done in about an hour at a very reasonable price. Oh oh another boring rave! John and Stephanie are easy to work with, prompt and reliable re appointment times but best of all John repaired our beloved Wedgewood stove. It's an old and tender stove which needed some loving care. It had several issues all of which are now fixed. John also gave some sensible care advice and warned us about a couple of important safety issues. It was all very easy, reasonably priced, and educational. We will have John back every two years or so to check the stove out and keep it cooking! read more

We had a great experience with John. He fixed our 1950s O'Keeffe Merritt stove for a very reasonable price, and gave us a thorough lesson on how to use and maintain the stove (it came with our house). He also pointed out that there was a curtain above an open vent it in a way that was a fire hazard. Thanks to yelp for this one -- he's a real find. read more

We have an old Roper gas double oven which burned out a bake ignition on one of the ovens. Tried to swap the ignitor with the lower unit and shorted the safety valve (later found out previous owner wired the unit reverse). Lee appliance confirmed my problem. Due to the age of the oven, he wasn't able to track down a replacement valve from the supplier. He said he would try to track one down and was able to do so. Saved me from having to buy a new oven. Came back that Saturday to install the parts and everything is working great. John Lee is very efficient and service was first rate. I will definitely call again for any other kitchen appliance issues that I can't fix myself. read more

The oven door of my old Tappan stove could not be kept closed. After unsuccessfully using two appliance repair contractors I was discouraged. Then I discovered that I had used Lee's Appliance for minor work since 1979. I had forgotten them. I contacted them and John arrived the next day. He had an impressive array of parts and was able to repair the hinge on one side of the door. It had functioned with only one hinge and he only had the one part. He said that likely the door would stay closed with that one hinge but if necessary he would construct a hinge fitting the other side and return to install it. Rather quickly the door failed and we contacted him. He returned immediately with the additional hinge and installed it. Because the first "fix" was not successful he offered to waive some or all of his labor charge. I refused because he had not guaranteed that the original fix would suffice. I paid for the part and for labor in full. He asked more than once if that settlement was ok and I insisted it was entirely proper. Lee's Appliance is an impeccable business. How could I have forgotten them? John is very resourceful and I recommend patronizing Lee's Appliance for any and all appliance repairs. read more

I have a rental in SF with a Wolf Range that was having some ignition is issues. My tenants had called a certified Wolf agent and gotten an estimate of over $1,000 to fix (yikes). I called Lee's and John called back relatively promptly - he assured me he had experience with Wolf so we made an appointment - time range of 11:00 - 2:00 and he said he would call about 1/2 hour out. He called a little after 11:00 and was on the property by 11:45. He was friendly (also matter of fact over the phone - gave me an appoximate estimate based on our conversation and ended up being not too far off...), and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem It ended up costing $353.00 total parts and labor and in watching John work (and enjoying the conversation as he worked) it was clear he knew his business. As much as I hope to never have to call again - I will be calling Lee's for any appliance issues in our flat. read more
