Ever had that hankering for some good old crispy chicken like grandma used to cook? Here's the place to get good golden brown not oily chicken at a place you have to drive a little ways out as a key destination. The wait staff is super friendly adding down-home hospitality to keep you coming back. The environment is full of a well seasoned neighborhood crowd who enjoy the ambiance of the 40's music selections, and the classic decor.

The only beer on tap, Busch Light.

They don't make restaurants like this anymore. I stopped in while visiting family in the area. The vibe is relaxed and I thought it was great that they have a guy playing the organ while you eat. The chicken is good and they offer one beer on tap, Busch Light. This isn't a fancy spot but it's awesome. Just a relaxed place to eat chicken and drink cheap beer.

First, walking into the place is a sort of small town, generational family building, and local icon for those who enjoy it. The restaurant is large, but the table settings are cozy and small. They had a live pianist when I went there with my kids, which was entertaining. A reason for the docket star is that the place has a musty smell and takes some time before you become accustomed to it. Just know that the interaction and food will be worth going in. This is an ode to how long the establishment has been around (Generations!) The food here is delicious and can be unique. The fried onion straws are mainly a favorite of mine, although be aware of the grease they'll have at the bottom. I imagine anything chicken and fried to their specialty will be incredible. I was a bit disappointed with my burger, though. There was a mistake in the order for added cheese, and it was a bit charred. Grievances aside, this place gets four stars instead of less because there was something magical about the place. My kids complained while we were there, but it must have left a profound impression on them. To this day, I hear them requesting to go back nearly every week. Ultimately, it isn't about being perfect, but being personal, approachable, and charming goes a long way.

Affordable, country cookin' and great fried chicken. I haven't found a really great spot for fried chicken in town, and Lee's is definitely a contender. Mac-n-cheese was yummy. Would get more stars if potatoes were real!

It was my mother-in-law's birthday and this was her pick after recently moving back to Lincoln. My husband remembered coming to Lee's 40 years ago as a young child. We walked through the front doors and nothing had changed in 40+ years (they are celebrating 75 years this year). Frankly I was a little apprehensive. This restaurant knows it is in a time warp - they even say so on their menu - and they don't care. They remain focused on doing what they do well. And that is fried chicken -really, really good fried chicken. And the homemade desserts were the icing on the cake. The Oatmeal pie sounds odd, and is definitely unique, but is worth a try. But the Sour Cream Apple is amazing. So if you're in the mood for good, old-fashioned dessert and some of the best fried chicken you'll ever have, it's worth a trek out to Lee's.

Me and my family stopped by here while visiting in Nebraska. The server was very nice and got our stuff out to us quickly while being sociable and funny. There was a live piano playing which set the mood for a relaxing get together. The food was good, but it was a little cold when it got out to us, although when we mentioned it the waiter got us out completely new Tastees without complaining! A great place for the family.

My wife ordered a three-piece all white came with a drumstick and a thigh and one piece of white meat

They do require a credit card to hold the reservation, which was easy enough. The waitstaff was excellent--very attentive, pleasant, and helpful throughout the evening. We went with the tasting menu, which made dinner feel like more of an experience rather than just a meal. It was a fun way to enjoy several different dishes throughout the evening, and the food was excellent. The wine list was also sufficient with some very good options. Overall, a great experience and a really enjoyable date night downtown. We'll definitely be back!

I sat at the bar and had phenomenal service. I got the Aragon burger with a tallow fries, covered in bacon jam! I will have to say, this is one of the better burgers I've ever had in my life. It came out very hot, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The sauce is super yummy. But it's a grilled onions that really make it. The fries came out hot, crispy, and very tasty. This is a phenomenal restaurant with some very good food. Unless you're lucky you get a seat at the bar, I'm sure reservations are required.

The music is loud so it's difficult to have a conversation. We did not order drinks so no idea if they know how to make a good martini. But there's plenty of beer from which to choose. We shared a cheeseburger and fries as well as some cheese curds. The food was pretty good actually. The dipping sauces were in small containers and the curds came with a somewhat spicy sauce.
