Went in there Friday for lunch. The sweet elderly woman who was the only person waiting and hosting was delightful. The food was really fast and surprisingly delicious. The food here is super bland and severely lacks any flavor. I ordered brocolli and carrots with a gravy and tofu. I needed to add soy sauce as it had no flavor. The fried rice had no flavor either and I barely ate it. Needed to ask for a knife to cut broccoli stems. Server didn't ask how food was. Cook brought it out on a wheeled cart. The restaurant runs by a lovely family and the owner is exceptionally kind. On my first visit there with a friend, we chatted with the owner and found out they're Taiwanese. We asked her if she could make some Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice for us next time, even though it wasn't on the menu, and she agreed. We called before our next visit and she had it ready for us . First time visiting and the customer service was above amazing from the time I entered until I left. I encountered a lady that was so nice and had such a sweet spirit I felt very welcomed. Once I received my food I encountered a man that brought my food to me and he was so nice just in that brief moment. Thank yall for great customer service! The staff are incredibly friendly, the food has always been excellent, and I definitely recommend it. If you're expecting authentic Chinese food, I probably wouldn't order here. You WILL have two different expereinces if you order for delivery vs if you eat in. We've ordered delivery a couple of times and the food was just 'eh'. Always luke warm and kinda mushy. Which has always irritated me since we live less then 5 miles from them. However if you have time, go sit down and eat there. Very friendly and attentive to your needs. The total price was a tad more then I would have liked, but with a family of 6, including a growing teen; it's almost impossible to get out of anywhere without spending $$$. My husband ordered the Hawaiian Crispy Chicken. It was really good, until it started to get too sweet and soggy. I got the General Tso and really enjoyed this not too overly sweet version. Our teen received the Orange Chicken and it was decent. Nothing to jump around for. And the little kids shared Sweet and Sour Pork, can't go wrong there. My only 2 complaints is 1. if you have children or like to sit and talk while eating; be warned your food will mush up very quickly and the sauces will set in making it too sweet to eat. And secondly, the fried rice was just plain boring, no taste and left much to be desired, although the portion sizes were HUGE. All in all it was a decent experience dinning in vs ordering delivery. I ordered from this place on a Sunday evening for dinner. Although I wish they made it possible to order online, they were all right for the most part. It's either a three-star or four-star experience, but I'm just going to go with four stars because there's nothing else of the sort around for miles, and I may very well have to order from them again in the future. Ordering by phone was fairly simple, although there is a menu posted online so I don't know why they could have just let the whole ordering process be online. They said it would be a 45- to 55-minute wait, but they arrived within about 40 minutes. Everything went smoothly and service was friendly, so no complaints there. The food is Americanized Chinese, obviously. Nothing like a military base to serve this kind of food. It's rather generic, but overall not bad. I got a beef with broccoli drenched heavily in brown sauce plus fried rice on the side for $10.99. I also got six pan-fried pork dumplings for $5.99, and those were actually pretty good. The total for that after tax and delivery somehow came to $19.50. Considering how convenient they made things for me, I would not say it was unreasonable. Maybe I'll visit the store to try their lunch buffet when I get the chance. read more

The good: This as very nice facility with lots o f room to grow. Easily accommodates large groups and an office party/dinner. Even better, the staff is extremely friendly and very attentive to the guests. Food prices were very reasonable - 5 adults had the lunch portion for a total of $45 - that is a steal. No waiting at all, the place is very spacious and we were greeted with a smile and seated right away. The not so good: The restaurant advertises a buffet style lunch on Sundays, but when we arrived, they informed us that they were out of most of the Mongolian Style buffet and thus it was not open. Bummer! We order of the menu and the food was simply ok - a bit bland for my taste. Recommend: try the egg rolls and order a few extras, they are delicious. I will return to give them another attempt to have the Mongolian Grill open and enjoy it. read more

Nothing spectacular, but the food is good, it arrives quickly and is tasty. The portions are perfect size, not overflowing like some places and the prices are comparable. There is something about this place that is unsettling. You walk in and are greeted by a woman not named Lee, little do you know she will be both your hostess, waitress, and entertainment for the evening. The restaurant is extremely large but only the bar is open for seating (summer of 21). If you wish for a wifi password you must surrender your phone for the young lady to enter the password. I went with my wife once and she told my wife to have as many kids as she wants because of her body and told me I should smile more. I once ordered delivery whilst watching a lord of the rings marathon (extended edition). Lo and behold the delivery driver was the same young lady. There was no rice or chopsticks with our order. She made two more trips to us over the next hour, one with chopsticks and one with rice. Now the food here was quite tasty and the Long Island ice teas were very strong. read more

So I'm here for training and ordered food from here based on another Soldier's recommendation...that was my first mistake. I ordered a General Tso Chicken dinner, yaki mondu, and a egg roll and spring roll. Chicken was too spicy, with minimal sauce, and it just didn't taste right . The fried rice was bland and a bit on the mushy side. The spring roll tasted horrible, outside was ok but filling left a lot to be desired. The yaki mondu was the only item I liked. The sauce was tasty and the filling was as well. So overall I paid $25 for a meal that was worth maybe $10. The quality and taste of food left a lot to be desired. If you're not from this area, do yourself a favor and read the prior reviews. You could save yourself some money and time. I won't order delivery from them again. read more

The young lady who works during the day is very personable. Im not much of a talker myself but I can see how more engaging people would appreciate her friendly conversational persona. I assume she is kinda lonely all day in that big place with virtually no customers (at least during the day). I live on post and although restaurants in general are slim pickings on Fort Knox, I try to avoid Lee's China bistro like the plague. When we first moved on post, it was a fairly decent, full service Chinese restaurant. The interior and decor are actually very nice. But then about a year and a half ago, something happened- management changed, I don't know. But they stopped being full service. I was surprised the first time I walked in after and was told to pay up front, seat myself, and retrieve my own napkins and silverware. The server spoke to me like this change was a good thing! So now all they do is take your order and bring the food out to you. Oh, and they leave a space on the receipt (on the hand held point of sale device now) for you to leave a tip! Right! Oh, and don't wander in between 2 and 4 pm for the entire restaurant takes a 2 hour break! read more

I literally just threw away $40 of food. The women that took my delivery order was a horrible person. She acted as if I was problem by calling and ordering food. I can't believe how god awful it was. Ordered kung pao chicken...tastes like someone dumb black pepper in it. The general tso chicken taste like old chicken with sugar soy sauce. The "fried rice" is just rice pilaf and it's awful. I really, really want to like this restaurant, especially considering the limited options on Fort Knox. We attempted to try China Bistro last summer, even after we heard some horrible reviews, only to discover that the advertised hours were not the actual hours. Now, 7 months later, we attempted to try it again. For us, it was a Wednesday night at 6:30PM. When we walked in, the hostesses/waitresses seemed confused about where to seat us. We figured things must be busy. However, when we entered the dining room, there were only two other tables occupied (a single guy in a booth and a couple in another booth). Two waitresses were on duty that night. One was handling the other two tables, and ours was only responsible for us. Ours was new, so we cut her some slack, but it was obvious that the other server was not doing anything to train her. When asked about certain items on the menu, our waitress replied with "I've never eaten here." We felt very bad for her, as she appeared very overwhelmed by her job. The other waitress appeared preoccupied with her friend at the bar. We ordered a sampler appetizer (more than $10). It consisted of unseasoned, grilled beef on a skewer, unseasoned and unsauced chicken wings (two small ones), crab rangoon, egg rolls, dumplings, and coconut shrimp. Overall, everything on the sampler platter appeared to have been bought at Sam's Club. I had sesame chicken for $9.99. It was about the same quality as you'd find at your average china buffet. Same goes for my son's General's chicken. My wife had a tofu plate, which was surprisingly good. Our two youngest ordered from the kid's menu. One got chicken nuggets and fries which were, predictably, from the freezer. The other ordered chicken fried rice, which appeared to be the best plate of the night. It looked great. Portion sizes were fine for everyone. The three adult meals came with fried rice. The fried rice was very dry and unseasoned. You will do much better with the stuff you find at a local buffet. It pains me to say this about the one hope for evening dining service without leaving the gates, but it just disappointed from top to bottom. It just seems that, if you are going to have a China Bistro, you must meet or exceed the quality of your average buffet or your typical PX Manchu Wok, and Lee's China Bistro misses the mark completely. Maybe Gordon Ramsey will bring Kitchen Nightmares to Knox and relaunch this place. Let's hope for that. Until then, keep driving until you reach the PX and grab a sandwich at Charlie's. read more

Ordered delivery. Took an hour to get here, but it was still warm. Order ahead of time. I got the beef teriyaki skewers, egg roll, and the scezhaun beef. The teriyaki sticks were tender, but a bit on the sweet side for teriyaki. The egg roll was standard, delicious. The scezhaun beef was nice and spicy, however it was not well packaged and most of the sauce leaked out. Still wasn't bad. It was quite flavorful.
