New location located Literally right across from the Gastown steam clock, no need to head over to Granville Island anymore! Lee's Donuts are sort of an OG place to get a delicious selection of cake and yeast donuts, they've been around for a long time. I liked the Cookie Monster (blue vanilla w/ Oreo) and lemon icing donut! No room to sit, take-out only. Dozen Donuts ($27) Single Donuts ($2.75)

Walking around the steam clock this is a little donut shop on the corner. Lots of interesting flavors. we got a box of six donuts for all of us to try and share. My favorite was a maple bacon one. They also had an Earl Grey doughnut, which was interesting and delicious. Definitely come here if you want to get your sweet fix and try some interesting flavors.

such soft donuts!!!!! I wish their menu wasn't rotating as I wasn't able to try all the flavours I wanted. But nonetheless I enjoyed all the ones I had. Worth the line up at Granville Island!

    Review Highlights - Lee's Donuts

Right by the steam clock, we didn't arrive until noon, but still tried a few basic donuts that were left.

As I love desserts, I was so excited to see Chinatown and visit this place for the first time. This place was located in an area that would be best to walk with a friend or a small group- I was not quite prepared to see and experience what was going on all around. Finally, we made it there and were glad to order some doughnuts. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the sweet smell of doughnuts and the two friendly staff. Everything looked so good, so narrowing down our pick was very hard! At the end, we ordered two flavours- Matcha and Tiramisu. The matcha doughnut was soft and the filling was light yet full of matcha flavour that one would expect, I loved every bite! My friend had the tiramisu doughnut and she said that she enjoyed the fluffy texture of the dough and the creamy filling- it felt like eating tiramisu in a doughnut form. If you love simple yet high quality ingredients, this place is the perfect place to get your sweet cravings fixed!

According to the website, this chain is named after the owner's golden retriever. It sure looks happy. Parking is available in front of the building, as well as along various village side streets. Staff are friendly and cheerful. No complaints. The doughnuts are a bit pricey but they sure are delicious. I really like "Asian" style doughnuts as they are less sweet than their western counterparts. I had the matcha cream and could definitely taste the matcha. Will be trying their other locations at some point. Recommended.

The drive itself led us to an incredible bay that genuinely felt like we'd been transported to Alaska--calm, wild, and breathtaking--and then there was this cozy little gem waiting for us. Any place named after a dog and so welcoming to dogs instantly wins my heart. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, even though the place was bustling with happy locals and travelers alike. Every pastry in the case looked beautiful and tempting, making it nearly impossible to choose. The coffee, though--absolutely perfect. Smooth, balanced, and exactly what you want on a crisp morning adventure. Goldie's felt like one of those special finds you don't plan for but remember long after. If you're anywhere nearby, it's a must-stop.

I was in need of a pick me up while visiting the Gastown Steam Clock and figured I'd grab a donut from Lee's which is right across the street. There is an overwhelming amount of unique flavors and all of which I would have loved to try. I opted for the matcha and German chocolate donut and wow! I had no idea Canada was known for donuts but I can now understand why. The donuts are super light and airy which I prefer. The reason I don't care for donuts at least in the US is because they're always so dense but it was the complete opposite here. The donuts at Lee's also had a nice crispiness on the outside which added a nice texture. They are also not overly sweet and had great flavor! I especially love the location of this shop because you can do some souvenir shopping on this street and get your pictures of the steam clock. Had I known about this place earlier in my trip I would have loved to come back a second time but at least now I know for the next time that I visit Vancouver. Can't wait to come back for these donuts!

If you are a sweet and salty lover, get it! It won't disappoint you. We also ordered the Doug sandwich and the Avo sandwich. Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy. The Avo Sandwich - a lighter sandwich featuring fried egg, avocado, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, tarragon aioli and mixed greens. Also a good choice! The cafe was clean and they have a water dispenser available for customers. Service was ok, but I think they were just a bit busy.

My strawberries & cream donut was light and fluffy but light on the amount of the filling to donut ratio compared to the same ones eaten by my family. Couldn't comment on the service and ambiance since I wasn't there during the purchase. My family thought the donuts were good overall but my light filled donut was a disappointment. Value wise between $3-4 each it was reasonable. I'm hoping the inconsistency with my donut is only a small blip so I'm giving this shop the benefit of the doubt.
