    Cinnamon sugar mini donuts - 20 in a box @ $11
    Kit Yee Y.

I was craving for mini donuts so badly. The one shop in vancouver was closed, so I was super happy to see Steveston Village has this mini donut shop! I must buy some before leaving Steveston Village today The mini donuts were freshly made every day. There were different sizes, quantities, and flavours. I only love the cinnamon sugar ones which were the ones that I always had since I was a kid. The customer service was great. They were friendly and efficient. I ordered the donuts, paid, picked up the donuts and left right away. The shop was just a bit too small that it couldn't have so many customers standing inside. Today (Sunday) it was a bit crazy inside. And the staff there couldn't really handle the heavy traffic. A group of 5 customers were standing at the counter and debating on which flavours they were going to get. I felt a bit of annoying as they should just discuss their wants and needs outside and they should not make other customers waiting behind them. Overall, the mini donuts were great. I would definitely and highly recommend others to buy them if they visit Steveston Village. It's hard to find the mini donuts in Greater Vancouver unless you go to PNE, Rogers Arena or one in White Rock.

1/2 dozen in cone and hot chocolate

A friend informed me about this cute little mini donut shop and to give a try when in Steveston. Was here yesterday and enjoyed the little cute sweet bites. The shop is small so only one person or one family group inside due COVID safety procedures. Upon entering you can see a tray with the current offering. On the black board is the menu. My friend took the 1/2 dozen in paper cone and a hot chocolate. I decided on the baker's dozen in a box and got to select 13 mini donuts and also ordered a hot chocolate. The donuts were light and the assortment of fillings were not too sweet. Really liked the lemon, salted caramel and Boston Cream. My friend and I didn't like the hot chocolate. Like others mentioned-it tasted like instant packaged hot chocolate and also way to sweet. Please develop a really homemade version to go with the homemade donuts. Will be back for these cute and yummy treats.

The mini donuts are good, especially when they are fresh out of the fryer. There is a special where you get 20 donuts for $11. Great to try the different flavor toppings and to share with friends. My favorite is the humble cinnamon sugar. I find the others a bit heavy. Unfortunately the hot chocolate is not that great. It is very sweet and tastes like the Carnation hot chocolate you make at home. Or maybe I'm just spoilt by Blenz dark hot chocolate. Just get the donuts.

Did not try the mini donuts. We just got some hot chocolate (WAY too sweet for my taste buds). They had housemade marshmallows to go with it.

A very cute shop in Steveston that has some very yummy treats. These fun bite-sized donuts make the perfect snack. There's such a great variety of donut flavours and they're all super tasty! The staff is also super friendly and welcoming. My Personal Top 3: 1.Lemon 2.Cinnamon Sugar 3.Canadian Maple

What a great concept! Usually I can't (ok truth be told I can, but I shouldn't) eat an entire full sized donut. So this little mini donut is a Jedi mind trick. You get to eat a bite sized variety of different donuts. They were really good!

$11 for a box of 20 mini donuts? That's a steal! I've had Outpost before, but had never visited the actual shop itself till tonight. My family and I were dining in the Steveston Village and were craving a sweet treat after dinner and we just so happened to stumble upon Outpost. During Covid times they're only allowing one guest (or one household) in at a time. This is very much a grab and go set up. They have a big menu on the side and a small display of the mini donuts they have available at the front, so you can see what you'll be getting. We chose the "U-Pick" assorted box and had a mixture of boston cream, cheesecake, vanilla bean, chocolate, cinnamon sugar, and maple glazed. All of them were so cute and could easily be eaten in one bite. I only tried the cinnamon sugar and cheesecake, but I loved both very much. Who knew such a tiny donut could hold so much flavour! The staff were all so sweet and welcoming. The shop was cozy and inviting. The donuts were cute and delicious. That's all that needs to be said! If you're in the Steveston Village looking for a sweet treat, pop into Outpost!

Cute mini donut shop with 10 varieties! Great dessert to soak up the alcohol from the brewery next door. It was very sweet though as I'm not the biggest donut fan in general but couldn't resist trying them as they were just too cute.

Pretty good deal for donuts - $11 for 20. Although they really are bite size, can fit one in your mouth at a time. They also had some seasonal lemonade for a reasonable $2, which I used to quench my thirst since donuts are best enjoyed with a drink so cut out the richness. I ordered 2 of every flavour. My favourites were easily the maple and the lemon. Some icing flavours taste like store bought icing, or are too sweet. I'd definitely recommend stopping by with friends and ordering an assortment of everything to go on a donut taste test, it's really fun.

Pricy mini Donuts....I could eat a hundred! The only thing stopping me is the price. I paid something like $1.70 for two. I was told a dozen is about $10. So, these are not cheap. You could easily get full size Donuts elsewhere for much less money. What you do get are adorable, little Donuts which fit in your mouth and melt with their donutty goodness. I guess one benefit of their size is that you'd need to eat a lot of them to ruin your calorie count. They have mini versions of regular staples like Boston Cream and Chocolate with Sprinkles. But, they also have some unique offerings like the Raspberry-Lemon one that I tried. Definitely a novelty for donut connoisseurs. But, a tasty one at that.

This place is awesome! I have been coming here on and off for years and love it. They always smell so good and each one has a great unique flavour I think these ones are way better then the ones at playland quite honestly.

Wow super cute place! I walked in greeted by a really sweet lady, and the aroma of fresh donuts!! I originally just wanted to check this place out wasn't really craving donuts, but once I entered I need to try these cute mini donuts!! I purchased a half dozen chocolate, Boston cream, coconut, lemon, vanilla, and cinnamon sugar. And it tasted delish, soft and fresh the flavour on the top was just right not too over powering. Its was a great little treat. I also learned that she make a mean hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows, which I didn't have time to try. The place is very cozy, looks like a bakery / someones living room, with couches and fireplace, man if I didn't have to be somewhere I'd never want to leave. Great little place if you're visiting the Steveston area.

We biked to Steveston early in the morning and managed to catch some freshly baked donuts as we stopped by. We ordered a bit of everything, which was 10 flavours at the time. It was really enjoyable for us as we explored which ones we liked. Of the ones I've tried, I loved the salted caramel and the coconut. Although it's more expensive than most donut places, I had a nice experience here. Its interior and presentation was cozy and nice. It was a hit or miss for me for the flavours. Some impressed me, while most were average.

It reminded me of searching for pineapple buns as a kid. Unfortunately, the experience quickly took a turn. My wife, child, and I stopped in close to closing because my child wanted sesame balls. It was his first time ever asking for them, so we were excited to get a few. When we brought our items to the counter, the staff member curtly told us to grab more pastries, which already felt a bit off. Things became more uncomfortable during checkout. We were told they only accept CAD cards, which is understandable, but when we asked about paying in USD, they agreed at a one to one rate. Not ideal, but we were happy to support a local business. Our total came to 10.75 CAD and we paid with 20 USD. Instead of receiving proper change, we were strongly encouraged to take additional pastries because they did not have change. The staff was quite insistent, and we ended up with several extra items we did not really want. To make matters worse, after piling multiple pastries into my wife's already full hands as she was carrying bags from traveling, we asked for a bag and were initially told no. Only after we returned some of the coins given as change did a box and then suddenly a bag become available. The entire interaction felt unnecessarily pressured and uncomfortable. While both parties were speaking Chinese, I could not shake the feeling of being taken advantage of as an outsider simply trying to support the business. To top it off, the pastries themselves were mediocre at best. It is a shame, because the place has such a nostalgic charm, but the service left a lasting negative impression.

If you're not sure about flavours, call & ask them like I did - clear good explanations for each flavour available on the day you place your order. I ordered 6 flavours - Black Sesame, Elote, Tres Leches, Mangonada, Churro & Original Glaze. I thoroughly enjoyed each & everyone of them! Mochi donuts are chewy & sweet. How to best enjoy them - because they come in several flavours, you'll really want to try all of the half dozen or more you order. I'd highly recommend you cut up each donut with a steak knife (better cut & makes it easier) into 4 pieces. Then try each flavour out. Eating one whole one by itself could actually ruin the experience of enjoying the rest of them. Put the rest away at room temperature for later. If you put them in the fridge overnight, warm them up slightly before eating them. Keep in mind that this is a very delicate to the palate treat & not like regular donuts you might have weekly with coffee. So to truly enjoy mochi donuts, take a break between orders of about a few weeks or you just won't enjoy them the way they're meant to be enjoyed. Take advantage of the current Yelp promo check-in & get 15% off your order. Parking is limited & tight here so bring patience.

The donuts are really chewy and I like that you can rip them apart easily to share. It's a good balance of salty-sweet dough but my favourite is definitely the mochi texture. I don't usually eat a lot of sweets so the glaze on top can be a bit too sweet for me (I got mango, and peach oolong flavours). I think for the price and experience, I'd come back again to try the other flavours!

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.
