I haven't been here for probably a year or more and it sounded good today because I needed some comfort food! It probably was a mistake in the long run but I picked up dinner for my husband and my granddaughter and I. They chose chicken strips and I chose a two piece meal. Immediately I was told they didn't have legs, but they put a huge piece of breast meat in place. Staff is wonderful, but the food all tasted the same. The potato wedges that came with my husband's meal and granddaughter's meal were definitely deep-fried in the same vat of grease. It's not that it tasted bad, but it just all tastes the same. The real kicker was, we also decided to order the apple pie, and they absolutely tasted like chicken! I hate to say that it's not good because it was good, it was just too much though! read more

The food was actually pretty good! In fact, the chicken and jo Jo's are great! We ordered several box lunches. The only issue is most of the boxes had only 3 or 4 chicken nuggets. Because of previous problems and today's problem I can not give anything higher than a 1 star today! Went to Lee's Famous Recipe restaurant for some chicken. Ordered the 12 piece meal, with wings replacing the legs, 7 biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, and potato wedges. Also ordered a large liver. We asked the person working if all of our items were in the bag, including potato wedges and was told they were at bottom of bag. Of course we didn't check, although we SHOULD HAVE! When we got home, low and behold, NO POTATO WEDGES! This is the second time that we have had this problem with the store! When I called and talked to the manager, she asked if I could come back to the store and get them? When I asked if she was going to replace my whole meal, because it would ALL be cold, she said no and if I couldn't come back in, I would have to contact the main office and place a complaint! Like I said, this is second time this has happened to me. I will say the store was clean and the people were polite, but didn't know how to ring up our order and had to have manager come up front and complete the order! I guess I'm going to have to either go to KFC, which is closer, or go clear on the other side of town to get my chicken! Only way this is going to stop, is if people let them know of the problem, no matter how small! And I am positive that this has happened to more than just me! GOOD LUCK! read more

Visited this Lee's 11/27/2022. We ordered a 12 piece original bucket with sides. The chicken breasts were tough. This was around 1 o'clock which I would consider lunch time and freshly cooked food was the expectation. This has happened before so we will no longer be going to Lee's. Never on Sundays...got carryout thru the drive thru around 7pm on 4/30/23...4 pice dinner included 2 legs 1 wing and a thigh??...old chicken...old old chicken...no sauces for the strip meal...no butter or honey...tried to purchase 2 apple pies and was informed after receiving the meals it was going to be another 4 minutes...10 minutes later she pulled out without the pies...shame on your crew tonite...have been a long time customers (lived around the corner since 2002) and we are usually very happy with the food and the service...not tonite... read more

I was thinking of going to Long John Silvers on Sunday when I said "wait a minuet today's Sunday, I traditionally have chicken on Sunday fish on Friday." I went to Lee's because it was just around the corner from my mom's place. The chicken, mashed potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw were all good. The price was GREAT. I wont lie to you, I do prefer KFC's coleslaw. Just a personal taste preference. My brother told me to get a large order of gizzards and drizzle some honey over it. I can't wait till they open tomorrow so I can try it! I would have been happier if they would have gave me paper plates forks and napkins. Over all very good at good price. Very nice people. They seriously try to give the best customer service possible. I love their strips. I like their sides as well.

Drive through experience nightmare. They were completely out of their oven baked chicken. They said it would be a half an hour. I paid the $27.00 and drove around and came back in 30 minutes, only to be told, they forgot to make it. They said it would be another half hour. I said I want it, and I want it free. I got my money back. I waited another half hour, and they brought it out. We went home to eat it and the box of chicken was so greasy the box fell apart. I thought this place used to have good chicken boy was i wrong. The chicken is dry and tasteless and very small the cloeslaw was bitter,mashed potatos were nasty the gravy was some lite brown gel stuff that i did not bother to eat. After eating here i felt very sick. i will not ever go back. And watching one the waitstaff hack all over place and picking his butt .One girl bitching about having to put stuff away and clean she was sitting next to me talking to a lady on the floor. read more

Just plain good ole fried chicken. When I get tired of trying to make crispy seasoned Good chicken I buy Lee's. Very clean place and the cooks and servers are wonderful. I like the green beans and slaw but the other sides are probably good too. read more

Used to be the only place I ate Chicken but lately it hasn't been as good overall, but still way better than any of the alternatives. Quality of the chicken preparation seems to have slipped just a tad, can't put my finger on why. Love the slaw especially and I don't care for much cole slaw in general. The chicken strips meal with slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy with a biscuit is your standard strip meal and my favorite. Plus a small side of gravy for chicken dipping. Price is a bit steep and they are quite stingy with napkins and condiments so check before you drive off. But again still haven't found better. read more

Lee's is where I go when I want chicken. Unlike KFC, Lee's chicken isn't drenched in grease. Besides their top-notch fried chicken, Lee's chicken tenders are thick, juicy, and a great value. Lee's sides are great to boot. Good mashed potatoes, great cole slaw, and good mac & cheese. read more

I haven't eaten at Lees since Nov. of 2008 when I attempted to bring a meal home for my family and waited 15 minutes before walking out without ordering. Why did I walk out?... because the lady in front of me ordered gizzards, which were not thoroughly cooked. Instead of making her fresh gizzards, they re-fried the raw ones, includeing the one she had taken a bite out of and placed back in the container. read more
