I've visited this location a few times and always have a good experience. I love the different chicken options! They are all so unique and flavorful. I always get the chicken teriyaki with rice and Mac salad. My husband is obsessed with the Mac salad, we've tried to recreate it at home but Hawaiian bros it's just too good. The service is so quick. Okay went back as promised to try the Luau Pig. Again I was not disappointed. I tried the pineapple BBQ sauce with the pig and the sauce was excellent. The staff was awesome. They greet everyone with an "Aloha" and "Mahalo" upon leaning. They were helpful and the service was fast. I was still filling up my drink when the order came out. They checked on me during the meal and checked to see if I was ready for my pineapple whip that I had on hold. I have upgraded this to a 5 star because despite being fast food the food and atmosphere is great. So I may be a bit biased, as I am from Southern California, so I have access to some pretty authentic Hawaiian food. I can appreciate that this franchise tried to bring something different to the Midwest, but the flavors and quality just wasn't there unfortunately. We ordered all 4 of the chicken entrees in 2 mixed plates and to be completely honest, they all tasted almost the same. One had a little more spice than the others, but that as well as the green onions was truly the only flavor difference. The spam musubi was okay, but could've had more sauce for flavor. My mom and I ordered a large mixed plate and my brother ordered a classic mixed plate, and we basically got the same portions. I told the gentleman who was working the kitchen and he gave us more protein, but imagine if we didn't have the two to compare; or if we had down take out. Besides having to order from the kiosk, the service was good. The guy who was working the kitchen got a rush in the drive thru, so he was pretty busy, but he was still very friendly and took care of our needs. The restaurant was clean and had a nice look to it. All in all, we wanted to try it out as this isn't a place we have back home, but I can't say I'd return. If I would've known it was a chain/fast food restaurant, I don't know that we would've went in the first place. I had high hopes for Hawaiian Bros. I'd seen this place while visiting family in KC. Wasn't bad; wasn't delicious. Didn't take long to get my food from the drive thru. I ordered three varieties of chicken; teriyaki (Hulu Hulu) salad and the two spicy - Molokai and Kilauea. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell which was which (except Hulu Hulu was in separate container). So we've been here a few times. We've done drive thru, pick up, and walk in and I must say every time the food is good and the service is really good as well. My favorite is the Maui, my youngest likes Huli Huli, and the oldest likes Honolulu. My husband likes the spicy option. We usually opt out of macaroni salad (the weakest component, in my opinion) and either do pineapple or veggies. The rice is always perfectly cooked and fluffy. Pineapple is always sweet. My only two knocks on this place was there aren't menus anywhere so had to hold up the line while looking at the menu at the register. The other knock is I ordered the small order to go. I am not a macaroni salad fan. Not in the slightest. Well when I open my container, they completely covered my food with the macaroni salad. I mean come on. I had to scoop it out and and drown my food with the two helpings of the bbq sauce. Recommend serving it on the side like you did with the veggies. Came here to try out this new restaurant. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. They said "Aloha" when you walk in the door. They help you with the ordering process and items on the menu, as they are new. You can order at the counter or on a touch screen. They bring the food to you in the form of Hawaiian plate lunches. They don't have freezers, fryers or microwaves in their kitchen. This island vibe restaurant is laid back. Workers wear T-shirts. I got the Molokai chicken. I personally wish it was a little spicier. I added pineapple. I am not a big rice person so I wish I could have subbed the extra rice for pineapple. I also got the spam musubi. First time spam eater with no complaints. Been here twice and it's easily become one of my husband and I's favorite take out spots! I've ordered the huli huli chicken and honolulu chicken which have both been really flavorful. My husband has ordered the honolulu chicken as well as the kilauea chicken and has been very pleased with the quality of the food. Some other favorites are the spam musubi and dole soft serves! The portions are great and so is the customer service. Drive thru service is always fast as well which is nice when you have impatient little ones in the backseat. We haven't ate inside the restaurant, but seeing it in passing, it appears to be clean and well taken care of. read more

The inside was clean and cute with a friendly staff. Unfortunately the food just wasn't very impressive. We got two different plates trying two different sauces, and it just seemed like a ton of teriyaki on some boiled/stewed chicken. Didn't taste like the chicken was grilled as expected. Today for lunch Jerri and I went to Hawaiian Bros Island Grill. I ordered the Luau Pig (pulled Pork) and Jerri got the Huli Huli chicken. I got the large and Jerri got the regular. First mistake just get the regular size; there is a lot of food there. Talk about Carb loading, a lot of carbs, but good carbs. There are 2 sauces, Pineapple BBQ and Teriyaki sauce, I put them together and it had great flavor. I had so much food left over I have dinner tonight. normally I am not a fan of macaroni salad but this was pretty tasty, a little sweet for me but good. The outside of the building is just as flashy as I'd hope in a Hawaiian themed restaurant. The inside decor is simple yet pleasing, there's some but not so much that it distracts from the food. I took my wife here and the staff member who helped us, Jason, was very nice and helpful, and the food tasted really good. I got the Kilauea Chicken and my wife got the Honolulu Chicken. We both got the Luau Pig and the Molokai Chicken (Sweet & spicy perfectly grilled chicken with a little heat.) The plate comes with white rice and macaroni salad. I paid extra to have the macaroni salad substituted with pineapple. I don't know what that cost but all that was there was a toothpick with 3 tiny slices of pineapple. The woman who brought out our food brought us teriyaki sauce and pineapple BBQ sauce. We both liked both proteins and I definitely liked the pineapple BBQ sauce and put it on the pork. We both thought the chicken was reminiscent of the bourbon chicken that used to be sold by the ton in mall food courts. I liked the white rice. My father thought the macaroni salad was pretty gross. The Dole Whip wasn't good. The place is clean and the employees were very friendly. If I was in this area I'd stop by every now and then. read more
