These are the ones I salvaged...from less than 24 hrs ago.

It's nice to have a farm stand locally, but I don't like only having the old stuff out and not having a selection. I bought $28 worth of strawberries and blackberries yesterday, and I've had to throw most out today. I can salvage the rest by cooking them and making sorbet, but my plan was to eat them fresh. I wouldn't have spent so much on something that required immediate cooking to preserve. There were only two boxes out for me to choose, and the sales person didn't seem like helping me get fresher berries. Those we're my only choice. I live right in town and this has been my experience with this place over the years. Maybe my timing has been off, but I have yet to get fresh berries from a fresh berry stand. I'm very disappointed and I won't be wasting money here anymore.

Small parking lot off ridge road. Drive slowly or you'll miss it!

Amazing strawberries! They have other berries and veggies to chose from as well. I highly recommend.

The sweetest strawberries I think I ever had. Also bought blueberries and blackberries and red onion. So good and fresh. LOVE this place!

Underdog Acres MUSHROOMS!…read more I wanted to give a Huge shout out to Court and Levi owners and operators Underdog Acres. They are a small farm that is completely licensed and trained in food safety and handling. I contacted them through their website, underdogacresca.com and although they normally sell online, they do make local deliveries within 15 miles of Volcano, and will be available via farmer's markets, and local markets. They were nice enough to allow me to come to their farm to get some Lion's Mane mushrooms. I was taken in by their post about their little farm, and I have always wanted to try "exotic" mushrooms. I haven't really gone beyond Portobello or Shitake before this. When I arrived, a few minutes early, they were just coming out of their "hoop-house" with my fresh pickings. They showed me the lot, and I bought all 1-1/4 pounds of what they picked. When I first got home, I followed Court's advice to use Adobo seasoning, and fried one up in a little coconut oil. OMG. so good! Texture was like fried zucchini. *Another dish I will be adding them to... Then this morning, I made an egg frittata with the Lions Mane, and some baby Portobello's (Not from U-A) with some fresh Pico de Gallo mixed in. I made enough for breakfast and a snack, but I will have no snack today... I ate the entire thing! The rest, I have drying in the oven to use as a supplement to oatmeal, or cereal in the next few days. Thank you Court and Levi! You are stuck with me now! In the span of about a half hour, I feel like I made friends. What great people. Please Amador, join me in supporting their "First in Amador" Mushroom farm!
