We stopped here to grab a quick bite as we headed over to CA. We weren't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The market was a good size inside, huge drink wise when you walk in to the left, lots of typical store aisles with a variety of foods to select from. They also had premade meals to grab and go. Their deli area was wonderful from sandwiches to pizzas there was a plethora of options. We went with the turkey club on Dutch crunch. Let me just say that was the freshest Dutch crunch bread I've had in a very long time. The sandwich was absolutely perfect. Clearly made with care and not just slapped together quickly to get it out. I was impressed. We even said it's a definite stop when we come through the area. Nice patio seating outside and it's got a gas station and car wash area onsite too. Worth checking out. read more

Some sort of pricing shenanigans in the deli. Purchased sandwiches all week for one price then suddenly a new employee gives me the same thing for a higher price. I asked why that might be and they said "I don't know" and walked off quickly. Maybe a clerical mistake but no one, even a second employee, could offer any enlightenment on the subject. Came in for a long weekend trip and stopped in to grab some essentials. Upon walking in we were greeted by very friendly staff who were helpful to us. This market has all types of groceries and general goods. There is a large variety of drinks and food. The food at the deli in the back is great, and the service is top notch. We walked in with a large group and Lana accommodated us without a hitch. Can't stress enough how nice everyone was here. I'd definitely recommend stopping here if you need anything, or just want a quick bite. read more

I wish I could give more stars. I miss Fred and his market that was stocked and priced for the local clientele. The grocery pricing has skyrocketed, and the fuel pricing (Chevron) is simply ridiculous, frequently $1-1.50 more than other stations in town. It's clear that their business plan was to target the tourists and tree trimming crews. If you want to know why your PGE bill is so high, look to the PGE employees and contractors that are fueling here (because boss gave them a Chevron card) when MUCH cheaper fuel is available a couple blocks away. It's a shame we lost our local market but Jackson is only a few miles away. read more

Encountered two different staff and both were friendly and very helpful. Had a good selection of just about everything! They have a deli soup bar (closed as its 1am) but everything else was good. Last night my friend and I bought a honey backed ham sandwich. It had one very slim piece of cheese and one thin slice of ham and sprouts. no tomato, no onion, it there was mayo you couldn't taste it, no mustard. We moved to pine grove a year ago and we had been faithful customers to this market due to them being closer than any other market. But I will never shop here again unless it's something that is in a sealed container. I have seen 3 rats on three different occasions. The first time the rat was crawling in the produce and when my husband told an employee she just brushed it off as if it was normal. Then we bought chicken and shredded Monterey Jack cheese from there and when we got home realized the Monterey Jack cheese was a week past the expiration date and the chicken smelled so bad and was old. I love to support local businesses but if the owner doesn't care about his store then I would much rather drive to Jackson or even pioneer. I hope they change because no one should deal with rats in the workplace. Disgusting, I just about ran out of there this afternoon. The two stars are for the staff, I know it must be hard to have working conditions like that but they are so friendly and always helpful. Also don't buy anything from them that is opened and prepared there, I'm sure it's had rats crawling on the open stuff. read more

I really like the convenience they provide as a small grocery store, with a good deli, hot soup and takeout foods, a good beer selection, a variety of fresh produce, See's candy even, and now that they have put in all new cooling cases it is really pretty nice. It's true that they don't wear masks or take the needed precautions and with the current high Covid threat in the foothills, we've been avoiding it lately, until we get our boosters and flu shots. read more

None of the employees wore masks....even the manager who was cashiering. My fiancé had purchased several of hundreds of dollars of items throughout the past weeks. My father who has stage 4 cancer and my fiancé both complained about how uncomfortable they were with the anti-masking staff. When I walked in there were 2 elderly shoppers wearing masks (one with an eye shield) and everyone else....nothing. The person stocking the vegetables had a mask around her neck. Stocking salad tomatoes and breathing on the lettuce without a mask. When I approached the manager about the matter she pointed to a mask laying on the counter and said she had one. Obviously all of the employees are top medical scientists and haven't lost a loved one or know someone who has been seriously effected by this disease. read more

It's a little local market in Pine Grove. They've got a fair selection, but the prices are mostly higher than what you'd pay elsewhere. I go here for water refills sometimes. There's a Glacier machine outside that I believe you can use anytime. It's a nice place to get something in a pinch. read more

Though a bit pricey, it is the most amazingly stocked little store I've been it. The deli has great sandwiches, there roasted chicken used to be good sized, but now are no different than anywhere else. Too small to bother with. This was a lovely little market. Very large deli in the back, had a nice vegetarian egg salad sandwich and my husband had a vegan veggie sandwich. They had clean bathrooms and pretty much anything you could want in a local market. read more

Nobody wears mask, service took long, guy making my sandwich didn't seem to care. he had long hair and a long nose wasn't wearing a mask. asked for a combination and got a cheese sandwich with nothing in it. worst sandwich i ever gotten. asked the worker to fix it and he told me he just did what i asked. even his coworker told him he made it wrong. thank god you didn't have to pay before getting the sandwich. straight to the trash it went. i won't be taking my sons here again. if your gon go here make sure pinocchio doesn't make your sandwich. read more

Firstly I only came here because the tree work on 88 forced me to, traffic was backed up miles in either direction. So went in here mid day a few days ago. Stupidly I got a sandwich cause I hadn't eaten all day the old lady working the deli will give you a fake nice attitude but really you can tell have no respect for anyone no matter how polite you are. Right after I order shes coughing all over the counter without covering her mouth or washing hands, wheres the common sense or courtesy? Esp when all this shit has been going around . Then as Im waiting see a large rat scurry across the floor and onto some shelving a worker also noticed it and just ignored without a word. Can only imagine what its like at night, apparently this is a problem they have had the owner is prob too cheap to care about it yet they upcharge everything ridiculously. Im not the kind to leave reviews or complain but two days later Im sick and got zero sleep last night to say im pissed off is a understatement. I dont get sick often this is the 3rd time in 15+ years and I know it was from the old lady making the sandwich or the rats possibly. Will also add after being asked multiple times the sandwich still had the wrong bread and rotten lettuce just to clarify for people saying its good quality. I have not gone anywhere else between then and live alone. Will not spend a penny in here ever again. read more

I used to love this market until I started noticing that almost everything I purchased was expired so I started paying closer attention when I went into the store so I mentioned it the staff and they weren't very nice about it. For such a small market they do a very poor job of rotating there stock which is sad because I wish they because I would rather spend my money at a local market but after my last experience here I won't be returning. read more
