The burger was ok I was not empressed took a while to get our food might try it again.

This place is disgusting. Don't get me wrong I like the burgers but I will never be eating here again. I usually go through the drive thru, so before today I have never been inside. Today I had to go inside, and the whole place just feels unsanitary. On top of all of this the customer service is terrible. One example is the place apparently changed it's closing hours to 6:30. I arrived at 6:00 at the drive thru but the line took so long I didn't get to the ordering window until 6:50 at which point the worker tells me they have been closed for 20 minutes. The hours online still say Friday until 9pm, and no one came out to block the drive thru line or tell us we were waiting for nothing. I tried to talk to the worker over the speaker with no response, so I called their phone. The worker picks up and repeats "Hello this is Lee's, sorry we are closed." and then hangs up immediately. Why even pick up the phone? I went inside to talk to the owner and they are still taking orders at the register. I wait for another 20 minutes to talk to the owner. I watched him touch meat, onions, and all kind of condiments with his bare hands. I finally get to talk the owner, and this man is definitely on something. The way he acted and his mannerisms screamed bad news. I explained what happened and he tried to correct the bad customer service by giving me free food and a $25 gift card, but after what I witnessed tonight I will never be eating here again. If you do not care about customer service or cleanliness though, the burgers are actually really good. read more

Best hamburger in LA! Been here twice now while traveling from TX to FL and we will make it a point to stop from now on. On our second visit some hangups made the service slow, we where in a hurry and asked for a refund. The owner or manager, not sure, handled the situation like a class act and showed that he truly cares about the customer. We went from a little upset to commenting how we will reccomend Lee's to everyone. Its not often you see places that still care and act the right way when in a tough spot. Honestly, I'm giving one extra star for the historical significance of Lee's. Had I just wandered in on my own, without having heard the nostalgic history of the place, you'd see two stars, max. The burger? Blah, greasy and mediocre, at best. The fries? Not bad. The atmosphere? Old school roadhouse. The service? Once you've ordered at the counter, ad taken your seat, the service is ok. I love local establishments, but seriously, Five Guys puts out a way better burger, and fries. Maybe I just don't get Lee's because I'm not a NOLA native, or over the age of 75? If you are, maybe you'll be inclined to offer 5-stars like so many others have. Sorry, Lee, I'll be looking elsewhere for my next burger fix. read more

I've been going there since the mid 80s. Hamburgers are good, some of the best old style griddle burgers however the recent jump in prices are exorbitant. $15 for a regular Lees burger, drink, fries "pie" is well over priced in my opinion. You can get 2 for 25 in their little break for 2 together however by the time you get cheese you are at $30. $30 for 2 people to eat hamburgers in a little store front is to much. But when i saw the price of Hamburger on French (PO Boy) for 18.99 I laughed. Told my wife can you believe this. You can get an oyster po boy and some of the better po boy places on the north shore for that and shrimp for less. The burgers or fine but there are also better burgers around for less money, a lot less. PS. Lose the pie. Most people don't want them nor eat them or at least give a choice. I know its been around forever. But at least they were Hubigs pies years ago. read more

It is what you would expect it to be; a mom and pop burger joint. The burger was OK, the fries were OK, the atmosphere was a bit too "old bar" for my personal taste. The staff was exceptionally polite and cheerful. I probably ordered wrong, but I was expecting my burger to have grated cheddar cheese but it came plain and that hurt the flavor/experience. I will return to keep my money local and away from the chains. read more

Anything but substandard, hand pressed burgers, if you get the grilled onions on them, they grill the onions on the burger, nothing else like it. If you want cheese on it, I highly recommend the shredded cheddar, they shred that in the establishment. read more

I always forget to review places like this. It's such a classic, obvious choice. But if you're in the area, DEFINITELY check out Lee's. There's a reason they've been open forever. Food: Delicious Service: Spectacular This isn't a normal full-service restaurant. You order at the counter, get your ticket, and sit. Then there's 1-2 servers that bring the food to your table and will refill your drinks as needed. So not quite full-service, almost? The dining room is small but clean. The servers are always super nice and on top of things. There are games to play and ice cream for the kids. Overall, this is one of my go-to staples when I want just some damn good food. Depending on what you get, it could be messy as hell (any poboy with gravy lol), but damn is it good. Just grab a ton of napkins and don't worry, nobody's judging. read more

My family and I have been customers at Lee's for the last couple of years. We would sit inside and eat before this pandemic and now we take to go about once a month. The food has always been very good. The roast beef Poor boy gravy is as good as you can get anywhere. Their burgers are also excellent. Just yesterday I placed an order to pick up. It's partly my fault because I didn't check the contents before I left to go home but the order wasn't done as I requested. No big deal, I asked for no onions and extra gravy but it was covered with onions and there was no extra gravy but still delicious. I called up more to just give them an FYI but ended up getting the owner Russell. I told Russell that I wasn't expecting anything but just wanted to let him know that his staff didn't get the order right. Russell was very apologetic. Even though I didn't ask for anything he insisted on getting my address. 20 minutes later knock came to my door and one of his employees delivered not one order exactly the way I ordered it but threw in an additional order as well. I'll say it again, I wasn't asking or expecting anything. The rest of the restaurant industry could really learn from Russell and just how important perfect customer service is. Even if he hadn't done this I would've still patronized his restaurant but because of this he'll win all ties. This one act of perfect customer service will definitely stick in my head and entice me to order even more often from his restaurant. read more

This is by far the best burger I've ever eaten... it's always consistent, the staff is always sweet and helpful with specials going on as well. If you are looking for a change from frozen 'hockey puck' patties, this is the place in Slidell. The freshly ground and shaped patty with onions grilled into it on a standard size bun is a generous portion...and tastes like no other in town. The onion rings served here also best any 'fast food' competitors. (Reminds us of Popeye's before they went lazy, and stopped making them fresh in house.) Fries are good, as are the fried pies. They offer a '2 for' meal for just under $20....and you can get half fries/half onion rings with the order. (Or all of either one) Thrown in a staff that works well together, and gives the vibe that 'we're glad you're here', and it's great little spot when we want a tasty burger lunch. read more

This is one of the better burgers I've had- large, delicious, greasy, and bursting with flavor. I was impressed right off the bat with the down-home, friendly atmosphere from the workers behind the counter, who quickly introduced themselves and shared the story of the restaurant with us. One of the best hamburgers I have ever had. You can have it with onions cook in the meat ( I like this one the most ) or with out. And the size of the burger is up to you, they are BIG. It's a small place, enough room for about 20 -30 people, but a lot of business is take out. Most of the time it's packed at lunch time so it's best to get it to go. This place has been in Slidell for 57 years and in 1955 a man eat 17 Lee burgers in one setting and that record as not been broken in all this time. This place is a throw back to my youth and maybe that was a big selling point for me but my girlfriend brought me here today Saturday, May 25th and I was really impressed. As a professional chef it is next to impossible to please me completely food wise. But today they crushed it. Burgers steamed in onions then seared on flat top. Fully dressed it came with lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles and onions. The burger melted in my mouth. Classic simple bun, two thick slices of American cheese which I asked for; normally they put fresh grated cheddar cheese by the fist full on your burger, fries and such. The customer service was excellent. She refilled our sodas and got out of our way. The cashier was prompt and to the point. Fine mill flour crusted onion rings were crisp, light and so good. But let me be upfront to the normal person; you are gonna have to be a big kid and season your burger, fries and onion rings. They keep it real. If you want all that jazz then go ahead. Onion rings had an excellent seasoning to them but I prefer a lot more salt so I salted it up just like momma said to do. Coming back for a poboy next time. Place is filled with old pictures of New Orleans, pinball machine, candy machines for the kids. Paula did an exceptional job. She stopped and checked in on us. Made sure we had plenty to drink. This is one of those hole in the wall burger joints that should be in your top ten list. The burger I had (Lee Dressed), was absolutely perfect. Grated cheddar cheese, grilled onions, nice griddle style patty, not too big, not too small. The onion rings were ok, the batter was flour based, and they weren't greasy.
