Oyster Poboy. Good, pretty darn good!
    Mark F.

Stopped in for lunch on a road trip to visit family out of state. I had the small oyster poboy and really liked it. The oysters were a'plenty and the bread was good french bread, exactly a key ingredient for a great poboy. The service was good and cheery, restaurant was clean and located in an unsuspecting strip mall. Well worth a stop in off of the main freeway for a good sandwich!

I was not expecting the roast beef poboy to be sliced. I thought most southern/local restaurants would all be shredded roast beef. Anyway, it was sliced roast beef and therefore very dry. Got spicy cheese fries and I'm not sure what difference there is between the reg cheese fries and "spicy" ones. They tasted amazing, just nothing spicy about them. Love the generous amount of cheese. Staff was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed our experience.

Good service, quick food, clean dining area. The food was only a 4 star, good but not great and definitely not worth the price. In our area you better have the best poboys in town for a $8 - 6" roast-beef. It is definitely not Bear's poboys. Don't get me wrong, nice people, nice food I just expected a bit more for the price. I don't think I will be back.

The roast beef Po-boy here is amongst the best in the area. My name is John and I love roast beef poor boys. For years I have been scouring the internet searching for bits of information on where to find the next great version. Thanks to a recent Nola.com article, I discovered The Po-Boy Company. The one thing I do not like is the lack of a website. To find a menu I was forced to go on Urbanspoon and that version was blurry. I really wish the menu at least was available online. Figuring they would have roast beef since it was featured in the article, I placed a call. When I arrived I discovered that the restaurant is all new on the inside. It is the type of place where you order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. The menu is pretty standard as far as po-boy places go and all of the mainstays are available. But I'm not here to talk about just any po-boy. My first bite into their roast beef was meaty bliss. The meat was obviously home cooked and not just slices of meat in watery gravy. The taste was just what one would expect in a great po-boy meaning that meaty garlicky flavor all New Orleanians have been raised to love. Besides the meat, the next most important thing about a good po-boy is the bread. Their version used the appropriate New Orleans style bread with the right amount of bite. They offered an extra crispy version, but I was interested in their standard offering. As far as dressing went, there was a perfect ratio of mayo and fillings to meat. That is the third most important factor when judging a po-boy. My one criticism of the sandwich was that I would have like more gravy. While flavorful, the addition of slightly more gravy would have set this sandwich even further apart from its competitors. In summary, come here if you want a great roast beef.

The Ferdi! Hands down best Po-boy I've ever had!

BEST and FAVORITE place for a Po-boy! And not just on the Northshore. I always order the Ferdi, which is a roast beef Po-boy with a slice of ham. I have tried the fried shrimp po-boy which is awesome too. The batter they use is very tasty and flavorful. Their fries are also battered and taste great! The owner cooks in the kitchen and is always around to greet customers if they aren't too busy, which is a great touch because of his pleasant personality and the fact that he cares if people really like the food. One other big aspect to The Po-Boy Co. is the interior of the restaurant. The decor is very simple, contemporary, and appetizing.. and everything is always very clean. Always a very nice experience. Quick food that tastes great and makes ya full!

I will sing their praises as much as I can! Everyone who loves po-boys should try this place! Fried seafood, BBQ Roast Beef, Roast Beef, Ferdi's, you name it and they have it! Nothing stingy about their portions. And it's all great! The best Mandeville has to offer, in my opinion. Nice family runs the place and couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. I hope they thrive! They deserve it, putting out such high quality, great tasting food!

    A nicely done Ferdie

A small family operation Mom & Pop in the kitchen kids working the register and tables. Dining room is small with a grand total of eight tables. Order at the counter and they bring it out. A smallish menu but all of the favorites are there. For me one of the most important things about a poboy is the bread and these guys always serve up a crispy loaf of French bread and fresh dressings. I suspect the family is Vietnamese, wish they offered some bahn mi options, but the poboys are solid. Definitely a good stop for lunch if you don't want to wait in line to get a quick and well done sandwich.

Shrimp po-boy pretty good sandwich, but for the price more shrimp are needed. Or a bigger sandwich!! Staff was nice. Ordered over the phone was ready within 10 mins.

Don't waste your time or money! Was so very disappointed, I just wanted a good roast beef po-boy. Well I wasn't going to get it at the po-boy company. Stopped by Saturday evening and the place was empty. That should have been my first clue. We ordered onion rings which I did enquire if they were fresh or frozen. They were fresh but a little greasy, but that could have been over looked if the rest of the meal was eatable. My roast beef was really salty and it was like 10 bucks. There was no meat on the sandwich. It was pretty much a Best Little Wherehouse Bar & Grill10 dollar salad sandwich. I was not happy. We ordered water, my husband ordered a combo cheese burger, we cancelled. So for small greasy onion rings and water cost 10 dollars. The place is a rip off. We ended up at Times bar which was good and reasonable.

    77. Spicy Cheese Fries

This restaurant outdoes itself every time. The food is always fresh and great tasting. Great portions as well. We got a a few different things to try. The roast beef poboy, fried catfish poboy, spicy cheese fries, and the onion rings. The roast beef just melts in your mouth!! the cheese fries have the best cheese pull you'll ever see. Onions had great flavor with a great sauce. Overall this place is bomb !!!

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position.
