This Center began in 1983 and formerly called Solana Recyclers, helped to develop the first comprehensive curbside recycling program in San Diego County and in fact all of California. Funded by grants and community donations and with help from numerous volunteers, The Solana Center strives to inspire community members to recycle and reuse to make our world a better place. The Center is also involved in forest preservation projects, pollution prevention projects and the very prevalent issue of global warming by designing plans that promote sustainable energy usage. They hold education seminars and classes and offer environmental education to schools and organizations. They sponsor a program called S.E.A.L. that stands for Student Environmental Action and Leadership which empowers students and believe it or not at-risk-teens to be environmental mentors to younger kids. You can buy affordable composting bins here as well. Check them out on the Web for more info: www.solanacenter.org

Pretty annoyed I got a plant from here and walking back to my car it had aphids. I thought…read moremealybugs at first but the guy corrected me and said they live only 2 days. That's a lie. They reproduce quickly And the life span is a month. I have a greenhouse and 50 plants in my house. I asked for a refund and he said no and just sprayed the plant down with I'm assuming is neem oil. But now I have to separate this plant leave it outside, hose it down kill the bugs and constantly repeat it till they're all gone. To be honest, I just wanted my $43 stock and I can get this plant somewhere else.. I 100% will never recommend this place to anyone

I have completely fallen in love with this gem of a nursery in Encinitas. I have been searching for…read morerare plants all over North County and have found that this has the best selection and best value for rare houe plants. This whole rack of plants came from Cordova, and not a single one can be found at any other nursery for these affordable prices (think 25%-50% of the price you'd find online). I have found several White Princess and Pink Princess Philodendron that have made exquisite gifts for the holidays. The most amazing Philodendron I found was the Jose Bueno, its leaves are easily at least 18" and I snagged it for 1/3 the online price! I have also found Swiss Cheese Monstera, as well as Thai Constellation and Albo varieties. My other amazing find has been their String of Turtles and String of Hearts, which are very rare as compared to the more typical string of pearls. The owner shared with me that he's been in business for over 38 years! He is super knowledgeable and has a vast inventory (hence the competitive pricing). The plants are all super healthy, and I've not had a single pest interloper from their collection. I have never left this nursery without finding what I was looking for. So if you're looking for presents this season (prepare to wow all of your friends and family while not breaking the bank) or want to expand on your rare house plant collection, this is your spot. Go before I buy all their plants.

I had to leave a glowing review for Wendy One at the Encinitas Home Depot. If you have ever called…read morethe store, you probably know exactly who I am talking about. They call her "Wendy One" because there are two Wendys, and she was the first one there. Wendy One is truly one of those rare people whose happiness comes right through the phone. You can literally hear the smile in her voice. She is warm, kind, efficient, and somehow even remembers repeat callers, which is almost unheard of these days. In a time when customer service often feels rushed or disconnected, Wendy One stands out. She makes people feel welcome and important, even during a quick phone call. She is patient, upbeat, and genuinely helpful every single time. Thank you, Wendy One, for caring about people and for bringing such positive energy to your job. Great customer service like yours is few and far between nowadays, and it absolutely deserves to be recognized.

Today was about the worst experience of my life at Home Depot. And I love this place. But I went to…read morethe pro center just to ask a quick question so that I could have a shower, a walk-in shower installed for my mother that fell last night. I was in line although there's no clear place where you should be standing to be in line for the Pro center when someone finally did notice me, he pointed about 30 feet away at the end of the lumber aisle where the line began although there was no line there was one person waiting about 30 to 50 feet away from where you would even be noticed. So I got in line and I asked the guy how long he had been there because these three guys aren't helping customers they're on the phone. They're on the computer, but they haven't really acknowledged my existence or his existence. I finally told him let's move up the line closer to where they can see us so that they don't forget us and once we did that one of the gentlemen took the guy Riteaway, which means, obviously, he didn't know somebody was waiting. So then I waited an additional 10 minutes, just to ask the question and was ignored, even after the gentleman in front of me left, he didn't acknowledge me. He didn't say I'll be a few more minutes, sir. No acknowledgment from any of these three guys and the two people that walk through. Finally a lady who showed up five minutes before finished up with her customer, her name was Bobby and she was on her way out the door to go home and I said, just a quick question I need something installed and I filled out the form at homedepot.com and there's people calling me that will not install things I buy at Home Depot. Why are you suggesting these people on your website. She apologized. She took a moment to take my information and put it in the computer even though she should be going home, and I kept telling her no, you don't need to do this. Just go home I will find another way to do this. I used to be in the union and it is unfair that you should go home and you're helping me, but it did only take a few minutes and I can't thank her enough for putting me in the computer in the right place that I can find somebody to install a walk-in shower for my mom who fell last night. Bobby, I love you The, the rest of you can KMA you should acknowledge customers you should have a place where they wait in line where you can see them or acknowledge them when they walk up this place totally sucks except for Bobby.
