When it comes to customer service, I can't imagine anyone is better than Hanson Heating and Air!…read more After 20+ years as the original owners of a home in Petaluma, we decided to add air conditioning while replacing our heater. We hired Hanson Heating and Air for the job and they did an outstanding job! Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, we started to have problems with the air conditioning unit. ALL of the staff, from those taking the calls to the technicians coming out, were extremely helpful. While the situation was a bit aggravating, with repeated attempts to repair the unit, the fact we knew Will and everyone at Hanson Heating and Air would take care of us made the process easier to navigate and deal with. In the end, Hanson Heating and Air replaced the unit. It would not surprise me if they did so at a loss, but it was clear they wanted to make sure we were happy. You are making a mistake if you go to anyone else for your heating and air conditioner needs!

In other words, they don't want me to be able to compare their quotes against anyone else's without some money and my time upfront. Three stars is generous considering that I will definitely not do business with them, but a benefit of the doubt to not tank their other reviews.

Vital's quote was higher than most others we received, but given their reviews, we decided it was worth the extra spend for a clean install. Pre-install had delays and miscommunications. I know this is common with projects, so I remained positive. I was sent engineering plans for my approval. I saw that these revised plans were for a smaller system than what I had originally agreed to. The change would have made it easier for the installers, but would have netted me less energy, with no adjustment to my cost. To the PM's credit, he attempted to draw my attention to these changes when they were sent for my approval, but I nevertheless saw it as a proposed change constructed to benefit Vital with no consideration toward me, and delayed the process even more as I had them change back to the original agreed-upon system size. I remained positive. On installation day, one of the installers broke my new and expensive inverter. I said no big deal, I'll talk to the PM and we'll figure something out. Even though the system wasn't fully functional due to the broken inverter, but I nevertheless paid everything that was due that day, withholding only a documented amount equivalent to a replacement inverter until we can find a resolution. The manufacturer would only replace the broken inverter it with a used device under warranty (i.e. one that another customer has returned and has been refurbished) with a shorter warranty window. Rather than demand a new inverter at the company's expense, which I believe I fairly could have, I proposed options which included a partial credit for the downgrade (and the warranty hassle and ~two months lost solar generation). After waiting weeks for a reply, I followed up and their finance specialist accepted responsibility for the damage IN WRITING and agreed to the credit. I spent hours on the warranty process, found an oversized box, and shipped the broken unit. This is where it unraveled. Right after the resolution, CEO Jason Jackson, got involved for the first time, deflected blame, and said he thinks my equipment was defective (a manufacturing defect somehow caused a piece of hard plastic to snap off?), asked to inspect it and offered to handle the warranty for me. I told him that the package was already shipped, and that I would have very much welcomed his examination and warranty help three weeks ago (rather than the radio silence I received), but the resolution reached, device shipped and warranty in motion. And despite his self-proclaimed "30 years in the industry," didn't appear to have a grasp of the situation as he incorrectly called the inverter a "battery," and required correction. He also accused me of breach of contract for temporarily withholding a small amount due to the breakage. Meanwhile, I noticed flickering lights in several rooms. Nothing suggested a solar connection, so we called an electrician... three visits and $1,300+ later, he traced it to loose connections and a stripped lug in equipment the installers had just worked in, attributing it to the install with a high degree of likelihood. I had been willing to absorb that bill just to move on. Instead, as the CEO kept trying to walk back the written agreement, I was told my warranty might now be partially void because a licensed electrician had worked in the same area, and the Vital threatened a lien on my home while I was withholding the remaining balance awaiting a corrected ledger and the heat detectors their own permit plans required. Five employees of Vital were copied in to the email thread which created an audience, so I eventually decide to email Jason directly to remove the risk of humiliation for him (I detected a hefty ego), and gave him a generous compromise offer. I made major concessions to just get this over with and we finally put it to bed. I was pleasantly surprised that he did not ask me to sign an NDA as part of a compromise, because now it allows me to share my experience here. The field crews were likable and professional, and even the installer who broke the inverter seemed like a knowledgeable, decent guy. Leadership is what failed here, at real cost in time and stress. Do your due diligence, and weigh the ownership of any company you hire. There are plenty of reputable solar companies out there...

They upgraded our main service panel and did an incredible job of untangling the old rats' nest and neatly and carefully bringing in all of the wires to the new panel. There were some issues with the old wiring to correct, so it was not straightforward. They spent a lot of time making sure that everything looked neat and professional, and correctly labeled all of our circuits. Adam did an incredible job tidying up other cables near the panel and making sure that everything looked as professional as possible. Our style of home presented some unique challenges, so it was very reassuring to work with a team who was familiar with mid-century homes like Eichlers. Jason was able to develop a plan that met all of our needs and worked within the constraints of the home, which we really appreciated. The time that he spent planning ahead of the job paid off, as everything went very smoothly on the day of the panel upgrade so we had minimal power disruption. When we ran into a last minute scheduling issue because the city was no longer available on the inspection date, Jason was able to schedule us even sooner than planned to ensure that everything was ready for the inspector and PG&E the next day. We were so grateful and impressed that they were able to make everything work out on short notice. They did such a great job that we hired them again to install a Span subpanel in our garage. They were well trained and certified on the Span panel so they got it up and running smoothly. They did a beautiful job with the installation, with Adam focusing mostly on the panel and AJ laying 50 feet of conduit in a trench to get from the main service to the subpanel. It was a lot of work, but again the careful planning, knowledge, and expertise of the team helped everything go smoothly and very fast. We had multiple inspections through the course of this work and the feedback from the inspectors was all very positive. No need to make changes or corrections, they did everything right the first time. Every day the team showed up on time and did great work. Their pricing is competitive and they serve most of the bay area, so we have already recommended Anderholm Electric to friends and family. One great advantage to working with Jason is that he provides his estimate during the visit, so there is no need to wait around for several days as is common with other companies. I also like working with a smaller company so I knew exactly who would be coming to complete the work and the high quality of their references ahead of time. I have found larger companies to be hit or miss since you get a different person every time. Anderholm Electric does great work and we look forward to hiring them again for our next project. If you are looking for great electrical work, don't hesitate to reach out to them as you'll be in great hands!

I would highly recommend Anderholm Electric and will keep them in mind for future projects.

All went wonderful with the County and we are now wanting the public to know how underhanded this man is. Shocking that a business owner would have such low standards. He actually could have come to us and said "hey! I can help you through this process" instead he took the low road. If you are concerned about anything on your property, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Ah! How surprising that this "business owner" responded in such a defensive manner, just as he has done with all the other people who have had issues with him. Sooo, no, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the installation of our generator and passed inspection with flying colors. It was surprising to us that it even needed a permit but I will say that both the county inspector AND Honeywell were appalled to find out a businessman would have ever done that (Honeywell said unfortunately they do not have control of their repair persons but could not believe someone would stoop so low). They even suggested we should Yelp him Add my review to the numerous other negative reviews and hopefully that will be the WARNING ( as Mike put it) to honest and good intentioned folks that need to be aware of these type of scammers.
