I got a heat pump system installed. Despite some initial complications due to the unique characteristics of my house, Bragg Home Services made everything right. First, the heat pump unit was installed on the back yard patio which has a thin rug. Condensation from the pump unit caused mold on the rug but Bragg returned and installed a small drain tube and no more mold. Second, the heat pump unit is very quiet but it blows a larger volume of air than my old heater. This led to noise due to high airflow through the tiny air ducts in my 1950s house. Bragg came back and installed new, larger air ducts to the living room, kitchen, and two bedrooms. It took a long time, but they eventually fulfilled their promises. I'm pleased with the final results. They were very nice and I recommend them. Lost one star because it took so long to fix the problems. read more

Bragg offers inexpensive water heater maintenance servicing about once a year via a flyer in my mail. I took them up on it this year for my water heater and wall furnace. They came out and were great. I live in an old home and I peppered them with lots of questions about how I go forward, with them, or on my own, doing some things myself. They did a great job on the maintenance and were very gracious to answer all my questions. I recommend them and give them my thanks. read more

I needed to replace my non functioning 1983 furnace in my basement. I got a great quote from Matthew which was $1500 less than another company and the workmanship part of the warranty was 5 times longer. He motivated me to move faster by dropping the price further so I cancelled my quote with the crooked Service Champions . The install team were on time and friendly. I contacted BRAGG to evaluate a clogged dryer vent. While at my home, the technician persuaded me to have my HVAC system checked because they were "running a special." I was then told I had a carbon monoxide leak and urgently needed nearly $30,000 in HVAC and radiator repairs. That is an extremely serious and frightening claim to make to a homeowner. I immediately hired Ongaro & Sons for a second opinion. They conducted a full evaluation and found no carbon monoxide leak and no issues requiring the repairs BRAGG recommended. That is not a minor discrepancy -- it is a completely opposite conclusion tied to a $30,000 proposal. After I sought a second opinion, the technician made rude comments about me for bringing in another company and sent extremely unprofessional text messages. The behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable. I am profoundly disappointed by this experience. Based on what occurred, I would never recommend this company. read more

I had Bragg come for HVAC services come replace all my ducts, add a register and increase the size of the intake vent. They come out twice a year for furnace and AC maintenance. All the technicians are very professional and great to deal with. Rick the owner has been very generous with referral bonuses and pricing. They just completed a big job at my son's house installing new ducts, a mini split and a whole house fan system. He was also very pleased with the company, service and product. Let me validate my review by stating I was a service plumber for 20 years up until a little less than a year ago when my arthritis and torn cartilage in my knees stopped me from being able to do my job. My sister asked me if there was someone I could recommend to replace a water heater flex line that had a pin hole leak in it in Windsor Ca on 9/15/20. I said she should try Bragg, and here is what happened: We called Bragg, and they sent out Todd. Todd looked at the problem, and sent over a bid for the repair. He quoted $367.68 to complete the 15 minute job that required a $10 part. My sister called me when she got the quote because she felt like that was really high. Of course she was correct. I never charged more than $125 to replace a water heater supply line which was a little more than a service call and the cost of the supply line. Even if a company charged a minimum 2 hours @ $75 per hour for a service call and cost of parts up charged by 20% that would be less than half the cost that was quoted. In Todd's bid, he wrote that the 3/4" ball valve (emergency shut) was going to be replaced. It made no mention of the actual problem, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the shut off valve in the water heater closet. Todd clearly didn't understand he would be trying to lie to the sister of a 20 year plumber, and thought he could lie and no one would know. I suspect he does this every day. When my sister confronted him, he had no explanation for his unethical practice, and said, "well should we just call it a wash?". My sister said yes, and called me. I went across town to the residence where the pin hole leak was happening to "investigate" and I took pictures which I will post on here along with the picture of the invoice. I called the company and talked to the receptionist at length about the situation, and she sympathized with me about it, and said she would have the owner call me. I haven't heard from the owner yet, and I don't expect to, because I don't think he cares as long as he gets the money. BUYER BEWARE! HOMEOWNER BEWARE! I sincerely hope that people will read this review before they decide to call this company for anything. I am a 76 year old lady. I had Bragg out for an annual heating evaluation..They informed me that my heater was leaking cardon dioxide and was dangerous and needed to be replaced. I was quoted $8900.00. They turned my furance off and my home was 62% unril I could get P,G&E out 5 days later. P,G&E tetsted the heater, found no leaks, and said it was perfectly safe. Disappointed. We were in a bind -- had to find someone to replace our mini split condenser. I called 7-8 places and nobody would install the factory supplied warranty replacement parts we had. We needed it done and couldn't risk going with some craigslist installer. Bragg came out and gave us a 2500$ estimate. We had nothing to compare it to as we couldn't find anyone else who would even consider the job. We reluctantly agreed to the 2500$ bid. that week Bragg comes out, installs the parts we supplied and it takes the installer all of 1 hour 20 minutes! -- we asked Bragg for an explanation of why the bid was so high for 80 minutes of work -- and the only response we received was " you agreed to pay it " -- this is true -- we are idiots. Idiots for trusting a local contractor to be fair and charge a reasonable rate. But what do I know maybe 2500 $ an hour is reasonable for for HVAC work. Seems excessive you decide. And to boot ... I leave my credit card for them to charge and without telling me they tack on a 3% credit card fee. WTF? As for the work they did -- seems to be OK for now. Happy to answer any questions if you are using this to make your decision to use Bragg. Update 12/4/2021 : Owner replied to the review -- but didn't reply to the two messages we left prior to leaving the review. In case he doesn't know who we are ... I'll leave a copy of the invoice. If you think charging 2500 $ an hour is fair and adding a 75$ credit card fee is fair and that's what the book calls for, then I guess there is nothing to resolve. Notice the invoice picture Im adding that it appears to have my signature... but I wasn't home. So I'm guessing that was just for show. My wife and I decided to spruce up our two bathrooms and up grade to water fall style faucets. We decided to do it ourselves. The fist bathroom went fairly easy. However, when we started on the second bathroom, we found that the prior owner had permanently glued to the sink drain, p-trap and tail piece all the way into the wall, unbelievable! This was above our pay grades, so I decided to call a plumber. The first couple of companies were booked up. When I called Bragg, Cari the dispatcher said that she could get somebody out later that afternoon, Cari provided excellent customer service and let me know when the plumber was on his way. Tracy showed up on time and quickly assed the situation. He would have to cut open the wall and re-plumb the drain. This was late Friday afternoon and he didn't have the parts to do the job. Tracy told me he had one job on Monday morning and he would put us next in line. Tracy came on Monday as schedule and began the work. It was a difficult fix. Opening the wall under the sink and working in the cramped space was not easy. Tracy got it done-he was Awesome! He went out of his way and picked up the wall patch material for me while he was at the hardware store getting fittings. Tracy also gave me some pointers to help me complete the faucet and drain project. We highly recommend Bragg Plumbing; Especially Tracy. read more

We had a problem with excessively high water pressure coming into the house. The pressure reducing valve was old and was could no longer be adjusted. We had Bragg come out to estimate the job to replace the valve so we could get the pressure down. The estimate they gave was competitive and we scheduled them to go ahead with the work. They arrived on time, maybe a bit before and I think it was Todd and someone else who they sent out. They went about the work of cutting, joining, adding new pipe, installing the new valve quickly and efficiently and got it done in just a couple of hours (which I thought was quick for all that had to be done). And all the work was done and new parts installed in a tight space slightly under the level of the ground. I phoned Braggs to ask them to come and snake my bathtub and bathroom sink. Both receptionist in the office were friendly, cooperative, willing to give me a reservation quickly. However, there had been a death in the family so they needed to reschedule me. Because they needed to reschedule me they deducted the $99 service fee. Once Tracy, the plumber came to my he did a superb job. He even gave me some pointers of what Nachi used to clean the drain and what to use so his recommendations were very helpful as well. Not happy with the service at all. Misdiagnosed. Tried to up-sell stuff that wasn't asked. Fixed the wrong thing. Broke more in the process. Called because tenants said the hot water to the kitchen sink was very low pressure. They diagnosed clogged angle stops, but also quoted about $3500 of other random stuff (replace water heater, etc). Had them just do the stops -- the guy came out and replaced them, problem was not fixed. Fridge water also not working now. I come and take apart the sink sprayer nozzle and clean the screen and it's all fine now. Stops were never the problem. Got charged $450 and almost more for a poor fix. It would've been simple to diagnose a bit more carefully and save everyone a lot of time and money and earn a good review. I followed up by email but it went ignored. read more

Took off work today for 12 to 1 pm service call with Bragg Pluming. They didnt show up and didn't answer when I called. Later on an abusive woman called me back saying they could come hours later and became very hostile and abusive when I said that wouldn't work as I had to get back to work myself. She became irate and screamed insults and horrible language at me before I had to hang up. Don't know what their plumbers are like but the office staff are rude and abusive. My New Year's Resolution for 2022? To make sure I adequately sing the praises of Tracey from Bragg's Plumbing lest I be visited by the Ghost of Plumbers Past. My past experiences with plumbing companies left me questioning if I should just go off grid and drink rain water from my gutter runoff barrel and go pee in the woods. I called Bragg Plumbing (I saw one of their service trucks go by) I was totally surprised. A real human answered the phone and I made an appointment . Tracy was my plumber who arrived pre on time and I was and am totally happy and satisfied with the job done (replacing an outside hose spigot). I am on limited income and found the price very reasonable. If you value HONESTY,INTEGRITY and INGENUITY Bragg is the best company to go to with your plumbing problems.
