We were really in the mood for a Fish Fry last Friday and had never had the One at Cleveland Pub and Grill.My wife and our friends decided to check it out.They were busy,but not over the top ,and were quickly seated when we entered.Drinks were ordered and quickly arrived soon after.The Fish Fry is available in 3 or 4 piece and is Haddock.There are multiple options for sides, including Potato Pancakes (which is unfortunately not common anymore) ,so I ordered mine with the pancakes and my wife went with seasoned fries.It didn't take long for the food to come out,hot crispy and delicious! I am usually a snob ,and prefer Cod,but to be honest,the Haddock, was super flaky, crispy,not soggy,and was outstanding,I couldn't have been happier!! Everyone was equally impressed and said the same .My only complaint was that they took the deep fried pickles off the menu ,that was the only problem for the evening.Definitely think they're worth your time. read more

Rarely do I leave a review of less than 3 stars, but the Cleveland pub earns it with their tacos. Easily these "whitest" tacos I've ever had. I've never seen cottage cheese as a taco topping, but I figured they were going for a cotija look or substitute. The ground beef was oddly seasoned, not really taco spice and the chicken was shredded, dry and bleh. And the Diet Coke mix from the gun was way off. I have been here before and this time, my friend and I brought our husbands. My husband and I had the 4 piece fish fry and out friends chose salmon and beef sandwich. When we arrived the restaurant was full but as soon as a table opened up they cleaned it and we were seated quickly. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Our drinks and food orders arrived quickly. The fish fries were delicious. My husband had potato pancakes with his for a small upcharge and I had the fries. We enjoyed both. The cole slaw and pieces of fish seemed to be on the smaller side but we had enough to fill us up. Out friends also enjoyed their meals. I stopped into the pub for a couple drinks on a Wednesday night at 7. I was surprised by the number of people there! The bar seats were full and there were a good amount of people sitting at tables too. They have lots of dart boards, slot machines, and a pop a shot. If you're considering Breakfast with Santa at the Cleveland Pub, don't hesitate--it was wonderful! The plated breakfast included French toast sticks, bacon, sausage, hash browns and eggs. The kids loved coloring, and each grandchild even received a special nice certificate. Santa visited our table and, to the amazement of the grandkids, told a sweet story about one of his elves. Been here before and have always been satisfied with the service. Today it was exceptional. When we pulled into the parking lot, my husbands glucose meter went off, his blood sugar was too low. When we went in and were seated, our waitress, Bailey, brought us our menus and I asked her if she could get him a cup of the clam chowder right away which she did immediately and that resolved that problem right away. When it came time to order, I had the baked salmon with a baked potato and my husband had the baked cod. Both were delicious but the cod really looked good and I will get that next time. There is a huge beer list!! Went for lunch on a Saturday and loved our appetizer, fried green beans. The potato salad was awesome, potatoes cooked perfectly, seasoned good, not overpowered by mayo. Fantastic prices on the well drinks. Got a steak dip with a side of the fried onion petals. The steak dip is a little salty especially with the au jus, but the fried onion petals are amazing. It was Friday night and I was looking for a fish fry on my way home. Cleveland Pub was the closest bookmark to where I was and I hadn't been there before, so I called in an order for pickup. My order consisted of a four piece beer battered haddock with potato pancakes instead of fries or tots for a $2 upcharge. I give them credit for having quality, homemade potato pancakes. There was a strong herb flavor from the herbs mixed throughout. The pancakes were thicker than most other places sell, which I didn't love for because they didn't get crispy all the way through. The edges had some nice crispy bits to them, though. It's always nice seeing haddock on the menu cause I prefer that to cod. The four pieces were decent size and the beer batter had the right amount of crispiness and beer flavor. I'd absolutely get the haddock again, but maybe pair it with fries or tots rather that paying the upcharge for potato pancakes. read more

Ordered take out. Nachos with chicken and a Swiss mushroom burger with fries. The wait time was about 15 minutes which is very reasonable considering they were relatively busy. The young lady who took the phone order was pleasant and courteous. I've had the nachos before and usually order ground beef but decided to give the chicken version a try and I'm glad I did. The chicken was well seasoned and there is a generous portion to cover the nachos. The chips were fresh not stale, and the vegetables (red onions) were fresh. I would order the chicken version again, however, would not recommend the beef version as the taco meat tends to get oily. The burger was cooked well done "no pink" and seems to be fine. It's a lot of food and the burger was intentionally ordered for tomorrow for lunch. The bun was fresh, there was a generous amount of mushrooms and cheese and the fries were plenty. Had another great dinner here on a Friday night. It was packed and plenty of people were getting the fish fry. Our server checked in as much as he could considering how busy it was. We got our app order pretty quickly. The mozz sticks were okay but tasted undercooked and were a little cold on the inside. However, our dinners were great. We went as a family, looking for a filling and delicious Friday night dinner. As they are famous for the fish, we got the fish fry and it was absolutely amazing. I got the Slam Dunk Dip, and it was superb. The roast beef paired so nicely with the cheese, and in the sauce, it's a perfect mixture of salty and savory. Our server was also very kind. We got our food quite quickly, and it tasted SO good! The setting is very neat. Apparently, it was a store, and was transformed into a local pub. They have many TV's, we could watch football, hockey, and more. They also have arcade machines like pinball, basketball, and pool. Highly recommend for a fun night and dinner. read more

Immediate eye contact when you walked in and a server was at your table within minutes with menus, telling you about the special and taking your drink order. We have stopped here a few times because it's close by. Nothing fancy - typical pub fare and generic cocktails but service has always been friendly. Tonight assured I will never go back. Stopped in to grab a drink on the way home after dinner with friends. Eric was bar tending. We had one drink and he stopped by to see if we needed a refill. HE HAD A FULL BAG OF TRASH IN ONE HAND AND WANTED TO REFILL OUR DRINKS WITH HIS FREE HAND. Like seriously? I said, "uh...no we will wait." My husband watched him through the window in the kitchen door, he walked out to drop the trash and walked right back into the bar and started scooping ice and refilling other people's drinks without washing or even sanitizing his hands. I've been here a couple of times, and the food and staff are generally great. However, during my last visit, I witnessed one of the owners (or a manager?) arguing publicly with a customer. The owner started insulting the customer and escalated the situation without any apparent reason, seemingly on a power trip. It was rather embarrassing for them, and afterwards other patrons were discussing how unprofessional it looked. Regardless of right or wrong, their behavior was not what I'd expect from a business owner. What made it even more off-putting was that they followed the person out to the parking lot to continue yelling at them. This aggressive behavior towards someone who voiced a concern is unacceptable. After reading other reviews, it seems this establishment has a reputation for poor customer service, particularly from the owners. I won't be returning and can't recommend this place if this is how they think it's acceptable to treat their customers. read more

I hate writing this because we do really like the wings, but the last 3 visits have been terrible. Tonight was the last straw. Three simple orders for wings and the person on the phone asked if I'd like potato chips. She said order would be ready in 35 minutes. I arrived 40 minutes later to find that they messed up the order and they needed to cook one of the orders. They messed up EVERY order in the last 3 visits. Honestly, I know who the owners are (not personally) but I certainly know when they're in the restaurant and this NEVER happens when they are there. Twenty minutes later my wings were done and I got charged $9 freaking dollars for 3 small sides of potato chips. $9 ?!?!!! Stopped by here on a recommendation from a friend who told me they have the best wings in milwaukee. I had been vehemently telling this friend that I believe the best wings in mke to be somewhere else but they insisted this place was it. I got the traditional wings in garlic Parmesan (again, friend to me this sauce was the best) and, just for good measure, also got the boneless wings in the medium sauce. The traditional wings were good. Crispy, good amount of meat without being too "meaty", little breading/coating. Everything I want in a wing. They were good. The garlic Parmesan sauce was also very good. More creamy than oily. Very flavorful and just good tasting. The boneless wings were OK. Pure chunks of white meat. Wish there was juuust a little more breading to them, but they were fine. The medium sauce was good. Not very spicy and good flavor. Bottom line, I still don't believe these are the best wings I've had in Milwaukee, but they were really good, and I'd recommend them to someone in search of some good traditional wings in town. read more

Not very busy when we went in so not sure why except help was talking when we got there and took a while for us to get waited on. Orders were missing sides. "Mild" wings were not mild and could not be finished. The regular Mac and cheese was a cup amount for $9 so totally not worth it. It also did not have garlic bread as stated on menu. The bbq Mac was twice the amount of Mac with burnt garlic toast. Our bill was $132 and worth $32. Wonder if take out is not what they can handle. read more

We stopped in on a Thursday night and as it turns out that's $5 burger night which turned out to be very nice for us. You get a slip to fill out how you want your burger done and what you'd like on it (most add ons have an extra charge) like pickles are a quarter but the pickles were worth it as they were deli style and pretty fantastic. What's weird is lettuce and tomato were free and very fresh. We also had the Nachos $10 and worth every penny. My wife ordered the homemade potato chips with her burger and they were out of this world. It's a sports bar so it is a little noisy but the crowd is a very friendly and happy one. I grew up in new Berlin and never really tried the food here. I noticed the updates and figured I give it a shot. The food all came hot and everything surprised us in good ways. The macho pretzel was dynamite as was the cheese that came with it. The fried pickles were very good (my wife is a tough critic) as were the fried green beans. The appetizers were pretty much all we tried but if you're looking for a nice mukbang this is the spot for you!!! I tried the wings this last time and they were ok. Probably better in house not for takeout but nevertheless still good. The macho nachos would be better with some house made tortilla chips but it's a lot of work. I will be back! read more

I wanted a burger and a good beer for lunch and I decided to finally try the Cleveland pub and grill a try. I have driven past it for years thinking when am I going to stop over. The place has plenty of parking in there lot in front of the place. There is a out door patio on each side of the main entrance that looked like you can only access from the foyer. When you walk in its very spacious with wood floors and wood everywhere. There is plenty of bar space and tables that are high or regular height. Plenty of flat screen tvs with various sports playing. The place had a modern industrial look with all the ceiling support and hvac system exposed. The place is very nice and not cheap or divvy in any way. The bar has eight coolers filled with various beers etc. It looked the bar has approx 20 tap beers to choose from and all the usual hard liquor. I had there most popular tap which was a good/cold IPA. The online menu is out of date and most items are more expensive, I will post some pictures with examples. The menu is also changed because the for a dollar more up charge was gone with my order and included now in the higher price, no for a dollar extra you can get onion rings because onion rings is a side option now. I had the brewer burger rare with onion rings. At first I was disappointed because at first glance it looked like hay string onions were on the side of my burger. At closer look it's onion rings with that style batter and I was fooled. The plate was very intimating looking so I asked for a box because I was not expecting that much food. See my pictures. Let's start with those onion rings, holly fuc#ing cow were the onion rings amazing. They were not frozen at all but real fresh onions that still had a crunch to them. They were very tasty and impressive. I asked if they are house made just to confirm and they are. The burger was impressive looking and I could tell by looking at it even before my first bite that they got the rare right. The bacon had a nice smoke flavor that went well with the grill flavor of the beef. The burger was juicy and tasty since it was not cooked to death. The burger was one of the better ones out there and I will give them that. Overall this place has great burgers and beer and I was impressed that it was not average bar food. They have a decent variety of canned drinks and beers on tap but do not, I repeat do NOT get a mixed drink. You will pay too much and they do not give you the proper amount of alcohol mixed in. This is a nice neighborhood bar. I go there to watch sports as they have a good setup with multiple screens showing just about any game you want to see. The food is good and reasonably priced. They have a good selection of beers on tap. Friendly and attentive bartenders. The only thing I can say negative is that it can get pretty loud, so if you're looking for a quiet place for conversation this isn't it. read more
