This is place is hopping during the dinner hour, regardless of the day. The main parking is behind the building, either enter to the south by the gas station or you have to drive around the Dairy Queen... keep this in mind as the parking lot can be full of cars and people. Lots of people, particularly in the warm months when high schoolers are hanging out at DQ. This unassuming neighborhood pub is much larger inside, and more popular, than you would expect just driving by. There are tons of tvs showing every possible sporting event and a packed house - I seem to always get the last available table. It has a townie vibe, with the dim lighting, nightly specials, an excellent Friday Fish Fry (with the option of potato pancakes - SO GOOD), and delicious burgers. No Coors on tap here but they have Stella (woohoo!). Despite living near this pub since 2010, I've only recently discovered how good the food was here. Overall, it reminds me of a "grown up" mini BBC (the beloved gone-but-never-forgotten North Ave establishment) with better food. This was the new restaurant of the week that's been a bookmark for awhile now. The burger pictures on Yelp didn't look half bad. The place is a bar/restaurant with the bar on one half and a dining room on the other half. It's a nice looking place with a cool bar, blue under bar lighting, color on the walls with exposed duct work. Service was a little slow in the beginning to get my Bloody Mary spicy. The Bloody Mary was average with a lacking of toppings because it's one olive and a crunchy/crisp pickle spear, kind of pathetic looking. I ordered the Wisco burger and I was asked how I wanted it cooked and I said as rare as possible because you can't undercook it but definitely overcook it with seasoned frys. The Wisco burger is 1/3 pound patty, bacon, sautéed onions, beer cheese on a pretzel bun. My plate looked good but the absence of the blood red juices leaking into the bun meant that it's overcooked and sure it was because it's not rare at all so why even ask how I want it cooked, it's always been 50/50 if I actually get a rare piece of meat. Otherwise the bun was fresh with crispy bacon and the messy cheese soup so let's give the guy one thin napkin for this hand mess he just ordered. The patty seemed fresh because it was tender with out the harder texture of a frozen patty, actually a decent burger. The seasoned frys were seasoned nicely and cooked to order hot and crispy with the skin on, pretty good. Overall was it the best burger in town, no. Was it good for what it was, yes and cooked to order hot frys is always a plus. read more

What a hopping place! How have I not come here all these years? It is located in a very unlikely location - I pass by all the time and didn't really realize it was a pub. Quaint vibes and a great place to watch some games if there are anything Milwaukee going on, methinks. There's also a dart board and it was busy at 5pm on a Saturday. We were out on a walk and just walked in. By 6, the place was getting pretty full. I thought our server was kinda brusque at first, but she warmed up pretty quick. She was funny, kind, and fast. Awesome! I've had better food, but their burger was still pretty good, and I'd definitely go back for some seconds. IPA (5.5) forgot what hubby had, but I loved it. hangover helper (14) I didn't have a hangover, and you don't have to have one to get this wonderful burger. It was cooked perfectly medium and with a perfectly runny egg. I asked how much they charged for lettuce, onion and tomatoes, and our server looked at me like I was crazy. "who does that?" she asks. I know! I fell in love with the place right then and there. lol And the lettuce was a good enough size for those on keto journeys like me - I could wrap half my burger in it and eat it like that. I love that so much more than when they give you cut up lettuce. wings (16) ok, so I won't be getting this again unless I'm back on Thursdays for their wing special. Not bad, but not great either. The wings themselves aren't breaded or seasoned. They're just straight fried wings. Perfect for keto, since it's not breaded. But a little seasoning would have been helpful. We did ask for sauce on the side, but usually the wings themselves have some seasoning, like salt, on them, don't they? Oh well. The sauce (habanero mango) was good, about the same as what we get anywhere else. overall, a jolly day and we're coming back for sure! Aliota's Pub & Grill - This was my first time trying Aliota's and it unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. We ordered the mac & cheese with chicken, which was pretty good and a good portion size. We ordered the sampler rolls along with a pub burger. The pub burger, while ordered to be a medium well, had more of a burnt charcoal type taste. The packaging they use is does not keep the items warm, as by the time I got home with them they were all a very low level warm. The fries did not hold up and become moist in the container. The rolls definitely tasted like they were frozen and deep-fried. Overall I bet their food tastes great after a few beers... but definitely not as a dinner destination location. 3 stars read more

So I've been to Aliota's twice now. A few of us girls came after work because it was close by. Then we realized they have trivia on Monday nights, so then we decided to come for that. Listen, I obviously haven't tried too much of their food, but that Cobb salad is no joke. It is literally the best salad ever. Their homemade ranch dressing is delicious. So delicious I could probably drink it honestly. But combined with the Cobb salad it's just amazing. I can't wait to come back just for the Cobb salad. My only real qualm is that they charge $13 for it. It really should cost $8-10 at best. $13 with tip. Why is it that the "healthier" stuff always costs more and my friends bacon burger and fries cost $9?! That's my only gripe. It's never too busy and the service is always pretty friendly. Trivia night was fun. Sup with the echoing of "Science!"?? We weren't understanding; possibly a trivia cult thing?! The other trivia participants seemed to be regulars. We play trivia here regularly and each experience can vary wildly from one week to the next. Brittany the server definitely helps keep things on the higher end with friendly, attentive service even when the place is packed. Food careens from excellent one week to less than mediocre the next, and there are dishes that you should never get (the lasagna should have quotation marks around it) and others that you should never pass up (the tater tots have thankfully never been bad). And that was what has led me to this less than stellar review. The bartender was "helping" Brittany tonight amongst the tables and decided to clear plates from our table. She didn't ask, she just started grabbing. When I told her that I wasn't done, she at first must have thought I was joking but when you pay $11 for some nachos, you better believe I'm going to join The Clean Plate Club, as she scoffed at me. I repeated that I was not done and she double-down saying, "Really?" I said, "yes, really" and she hesitantly set the plate back down. I paused, waiting for her to acknowledge her error, but she still looked at me like I was going to run out of the joint with the plate. I then relented and told her to take the plate away. Again, Brittany is the only reason this place is getting a two-star review as I'm still fairly annoyed by the presumption and rudeness of the bartender. As long as Brittany is there, I'll be back, but once she's gone, so am I. read more

I live and work in Glendale - and up until yesterday, I had never visited Aliota's Pub & Grill. I didn't know what to expect, but my new team frequents this place for happy hour after work. It's a neighborhood bar - but with an expansive food menu. The service was excellent and never did we have an empty glass for long. We had a couple of appetizers that hit the spot - and generally, it's a casual and comfortable spot. I wish I had known about it before....... and as a bonus, there is a Dairy Queen next door.... So, I went back two more times since I first posted my original post giving only 3 stars last time. The service the last 2x times I went was a lot better and faster. This past Thursday we went again. The waiter was busy but we had an older couple I believe either they are the parents of the owners or the owners were going around in each table making sure everyone was ok. (love the personal touch). Both games were on so naturally everyone was in good spirit. (With a GB touch down they even handed a complimentary Jell-O shot). They do have good specials during the week. They have $5 burger with fries on Wednesday And 5 wings for $4 on Thursday Naturally, it is just fair to give another review to this place. Not to be confused with Alioto's. on the West side of town (very different) This is a fun location with a nice patio up front with good sized ashtrays. Came in for late happy hour. Staff was pleasant and attentive. They had a touchscreen juke box. With speakers out front. They had plenty of parking up front and as the sign says parking in rear. (hee hee). They had Jameson and but no Myers Rum or JW blue label. It's sad that most of the locals don't drink the Dark Jamaican rum. I personally enjoy it when ever I get a chance. In fact I prefer it over Captain Morgan any day. I'm sure there is more than 2 other fans of Myers. it is definitely a flavor that reminds me a life in South Florida without the expense of travel. Aliota's is a welcome change for this area of Whitefish Bay. There aren't too many walkable restaurants in this area - it's halfway between downtown Shorewood and downtown Whitefish Bay. Aliota's has fantastic food considering the prices and location. Where else can you get a cheeseburger and fries/tater tots/vegetables for $5? This is one of the few places who offers sauteed veggies as a standard side rather than upcharging for it. The food is better than most pub food - try the steak or the buffalo chicken sandwich. Their homemade ghost chili is also great and is almost a meal in itself! They have a good mix of beers on tap, and they have varying specials every night of the week. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have quite a few nice TVs which helps if you want to see a game. Try Aliota's for your next casual meal out - you won't be disappointed! read more

This is a family owned place and it shows. It's run with care and a real respect for the value of local customers. They have a great draft selection for such a small place and I think they really do a great job. For those of you who want special treatment and used to give 4 stars and now give one... Imagine if you asked McDonald's to start carrying onion rings or Subway to start selling BBQ ribs just because your preference is to have them on the random occasion you patronize their place... They'd laugh you out of the building... Have some perspective, liquor costs real money and Aliota's is trying to make it in a neighborhood where there is virtually no support for a small pub and grill. They provide a great fish fry and many beverage options but get slandered because you can't drink exactly what you want when you go there twice a month!?! Customer service is about he whole experience not breaking the bank for every whimsical request each customer makes. Next time you're there leave an extra $35 (Myers dark rum at cost) and ask them to keep the bottle in house just for you and I bet they'd be happy to. This place is great and they work hard to make very little profit in a community where most people are in bed by 11pm. We have lived in the neighborhood for a number of years, and we came to Aliota's occasionally. The food was good, but the atmosphere needed updating. Lo and behold, they closed for several months in 2012 for a full remodel. 1. The food is the same - good solid pub food, and it's inexpensive. We tried the cilantro lime wings and the $5 LTO cheeseburger, which came with a side order of tots or fries. The cheeseburger was good but the wings were the star - cooked well (moist meat and crisp skin without any flab) with a really tangy sauce. I will definitely be ordering the wings on my next visit! 2. Awesome draft beer selection: Old Rasputin, Sprecher Pub Brown Ale, Fat Tire, Anchor Orchard, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Hinterland Saison, Central Waters Red, Lakefront RiverWest, an Alaskan White, Stella, and lastly - Miller Lite. Taps are subject to change, but this is a great variety. 3. The interior has been re-done in a more open sports bar style. 4. The smokey smell that used to permeate Aliota's is completely gone. 5. The bartender that took care of my husband and I was friendly and efficient. There were several regulars in the bar, and they were all had a great relationship with the staff. 6. There are 7 flatscreen tvs: 2 very large screens, 3 medium sized tvs and 2 smaller tvs. They seem to have the various sports packages, so this seems like a great place to watch the games. 7. There are a variety of daily specials and their HH runs M-F from 2 - 6. All in all, a great remodel; we're very happy to have Aliota's back in the neighborhood! read more

Oh the dissapointment! I really wanted to find a decent place just a few blocks from home, but it was not to be. Came on a Friday night. Asked if they had any Friday drink specials and was told they did not. Ok, look down at the beer menu and my husband points out to the sign that says Friday has a Martini special. I point this out to our server. She tells me that it's only after 8....Confused, I tell her it IS after 8. I then ask if it is specific Martinis and off she goes to get another menu....Let's just fast forward and say the Martini was horrible. So, I end up ordering a beer after all...well..several..because everything I asked for they no longer had. She proactivly crossed these off the menu, so the next customer wouldn't have to go through the dissapointment as one after another choice was shot down. We also ordered the Fish Fry. Me Haddock. Him Perch. Both with "potato pancakes" Fish was standard fare. Potato pancakes we're closer to hashbrowns, but not the good kind. They were soggy and sad. Coleslaw was good tho' I've been told they make a pretty good burger...I may give it a try someday I'm walking back from the Estabrook Beer Garden! read more

My only ding for the place is that there's a Shiner pic in the listing... as if they sell Shiner. When you walk in, there are 2 Shiner Bock wall signs. There are people in here every night of the week. Which I take to be a good sign. Aliota's is one of my local establishments, and I'm glad that it is. Their food menu is pretty great, whether you're in the mood for a sandwich or a full entree. Personal favorites include the White Cheddar Mac 'n' Cheese (add bacon and jalapenos) and the Old Smoky Burger (beef patty topped with bacon, Gouda, onions, and BBQ sauce). (Clearly I like bacon. No apologies!) Prices are pretty in line with the rest of the Shorewood/WFB/Glendale area, ranging from $10-15ish for most items. As for drinks, Aliota's is a great place to catch up with a friend or watch a game on TV. With a mix of bar seating, high tables, and low tables, there's a space for everyone. There are lots of great drink specials each day, which seems to draw in a pretty regular late night crowd. Aliota's just celebrated its 2-year anniversary -- hopefully they'll stick around for many more to come! read more

Picked up Fish Fry on a recent Friday; not impressed with food or this place. Trying to stay local and spreading our FF purchases around the area. Entered the location to pick up since they don't have Curbside; no customers sitting at full bar were wearing masks; there were two bartenders and one had mask around her neck as she was waiting on me and the other only put hers up when she turned and saw me at the bar with one on. Fish was okay but nothing I would rave about so overall not worth it. I should have walked out when I saw they didn't really care about their patrons. read more

A great little bar in downtown Whitefish Bay. We went for a drink and take out- the place was packed. I recommend trying out their fish fry dinners. The walleye was sold out at 7:00 already so we ordered perch and haddock. Both dinners came with homemade tartar and fries or potato pancakes. Everything was excellent! A decent NASCAR bar with some tables eating for the usual bar grub and corporate Milwaukee old beer. The place is in a cool burb of Milwaukee and makes this tight strip mall somewhat worth a stop.
