We split up with them deciding to do only a mani and I choosing to do only a pedi. My pedicure was phenomenally relaxing! By far one of the best I've had in a long time. My pedicurist was professional, kind and a great painter. Three weeks later, my toes still look fantastic! I'd definitely go back for another soon. :) Now, I can't speak too much about the manicures but my mom tried a gel nail set up with a very natural color. They looked beautiful! This was my third time at this salon and I went with other people. The first time was superior, the second not so good, and the third atrocious. I had glanced down at my toenails and thought the man was doing a good job so I relaxed and when I looked down later, he had cut one of my nails almost completely off. I didn't really examine it until I got home but he had sliced down both sides and cut it to a nub (see the pictures, middle toe). It was a damaged nail and most shockingly, this man played doctor with it, telling me that the damage was caused by a bone in my foot (not true) and needed to be cut back. I had NO idea that he meant cutting my toenail nearly off!! That was four days ago and I'm still in pain. I plan to see my podiatrist if it doesn't start growing back in (cutting the sides has me extremely worried) and if he's done permanent damage, I'll need to consider my next legal step. WARNING: if you go to this salon, make SURE you know who you're getting for a technician. But FYI, I was with two people and neither was happy with their service. Ok so this place is very big and nicely decorated. Definitely recommend for big groups. Service was very nice and friendly. They have a wide selection of colors and services They refilled my drink a few time (not my friend's because she was driving) which was nice. Everything was excellent except the paint job. Both my friend and I agreed on it. I messed my polish so I came back and they had no problem redoing my mistake. First time here and I was a walk in. They sat me immediately but had to wait a bit for a nail tech which wasn't a big deal. I initially came for a pedicure but decided to also get my nails done. Both came out great and i was very happy with the service. Unfortunately only 5 days later a nail broke completely off and all the other ones were already lifting. This should only happen at least 2 weeks after getting them done. I came back to the nail salon pretty upset and the manager was quick to address the issue and got a new technician to fix the problems. Although it was pretty annoying to have to come back. Its clean, everyone is friendly, it's a big salon and there is always someone available (I didn't wait at all but I will say I was there around 9:45am just after they opened). Always get a fabulous pedicure here but the last 2 times I've been in I've wanted a manicure also and both times they don't listen to me. I wanted a manicure with clear gel polish just to add a little strength to my nails. I hate the dremel and how my fingers feel after they have used it on me. They always insist that I need something different than what I asked for and I can't understand everything they are saying so I just say ok. This is my fault. From now on I will say NO and ask to just have what I asked for. This last visit I wanted a gel manicure and ended up with a dip that was too think and uneven. My nails are all different length and she even put a tip on one of my thumbs that I didn't ask for. I know I let her keep going. I just kept thinking that in the end it'll be find but it's not. This is still the only nail place I go to. Pretty much every tech has been a sweetheart, and the work is consistently top notch. Lauren (gel mani), and Crystal or Sophia (signature pedi) are especially great. All three are very thorough, don't make me feel rushed, and give excellent attention to detail. Cassie at the front desk is an absolute darling, and the whole place is just clean, with a friendly, comfortable, relaxing vibe. I'm excited to be moving away from the area soon, but I will be so, SO sad to lose this seriously great shop. {{{tears}}} P.s., the only time I've really received less than stellar results here is when I've gotten one of the male techs (three different times). They're not rude, or rough or anything. They're just not very friendly, and they seem to give less attention to detail, so the results have been sloppy. (I think it's just a guy thing...haha) Anyway. Well apparently I was labeled a delicate flower by the Vietnamese lady next to me serving her customer. They all looked at me and laughed. I got my nails done Friday 03/29 by Kim and within the next 3 days, 3 nails would break in half without me noticing that I had broken a nail. Today Monday 04/01 I went to ask for my set to be re-done as I do not trust that the other nails will hold up whatsoever. I was told that only my 3 nails can be fixed, or they will charge me $10 to remove and charge for a full new set. I asked even if I just want them removed completely I would still get charged the $10? I was told yes... 3 days ago I paid $100 with tip and for me to be charged an ADDITIONAL $10 to remove an abysmal set of nails has me absolutely perplexed. We were walk-in's on a Monday for our first ever visit to Left Bank. Able to park right in front and greeted immediately. We asked if they were able to accommodate walk ins (they weren't terribly busy), were offered a menu of services and a clipboard to select which service(s) we'd like, and asked to pick our polish (we selected regular polish as opposed to gel/dip/acrylic, which (to be fair) is marketed as their specialties.) The polish was arranged by color and very easy to migrate to the tones we liked. We were seated quickly near the bar and offered drinks. The salon is beautiful, although it looks like everyone's supply trunks are all sort of parked in the center of the otherwise orderly layout. (Maybe consider another spot out of sight or in cubbies facing the rear wall?) Most importantly, one tech freed up to work on my friend about 15 mins before my tech arrived. They knew we were together, so I felt like my tech rushed to catch up so we'd be finished at roughly the same time. My tech evidently forgot to remove the lotion or paraffin wax residue from my nails after my hand/forearm massage before she began painting. She painted quickly and continued to the second coat (and finally the top coat) despite uneven/striated color. Needless to say, after several hours the color just rolled off most of my fingers. The paint just couldn't dry/seal on the oily nail beds. I'm not likely to return for a polish manicure without a tech recommendation for an appointment. Just disappointing because the salon location is convenient and a really pretty atmosphere to spend some time read more
