I was nearly done with work, it's time to wind down. I stopped at NoDa in the early afternoon to…read morefind the place pretty deserted. I was able to order a beer and find a quiet place to take one last work call before it was time to fight the traffic getting home. NoDa was peaceful, the beer was excellent and as much as I wanted one of those delicious looking pizzas, Mrs. K. was cooking a steak for dinner this evening. NoDa has a large parking lot, a variety of beers and large seating areas both inside and out. This is truly a five star brewpub. [Review 580 of 2026 - 4670 in North Carolina - 25761 overall]

We were in a small room towards the back of the space. This space is very open with plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy some drinks. Lots of games to choose from. Lots of beer options, wine and other cocktails to choose from. Everyone was super friendly and efficient. They have an outdoor space as well with patio seating and a yard for kids to play at. I love that they have a parking lot so no need to pay for parking or fight for some street parking as well. Been back twice and have always had a great time.

We pop in for bingo (second Tuesday of the month) and always have a great time!…read more Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so I often find myself parking across the street, though I'm usually going at a busier time. The bar is divey, and you can find very cheap drinks, especially if you go for the daily specials. The bartenders are nice - beware that they do keep your card if you keep your tab open - and seem to know the regulars. In addition to monthly bingo, they seem to host drag events, have video games and board games available to play, as well as several TVs. Plus, dogs can go inside and out. The bar does not serve food, though usually there is a vendor there. Looking forward to next month!

Part neighborhood pub, part dive bar, Hattie's has a reputation as a hipster hang out (I don't mean…read morethat in a bad way but I know some may take it that way). There is no food but they have cheap drinks, old school games, a spacious patio, and they host cool events like bingo night. Their motto is "Mind your P's and Q's" which I found amusing. I have only been in a few times so I can comment on if their patrons typically adhere to this code of conduct! Overall I think it is worth checking out if you've never been and maybe it will grab you and you will want to become a regular. Me personally it's a little out of the way to become a regular haunt located in between Plaza and NoDa but not walking distance from either. Also it's not that the service was ever unfriendly but I just didn't feel like it was my vibe. Still a cool bar though and I can see why other enjoy it.

As a foodie transplant from the Bay Area, I'm always on the hunt for dishes that remind me of…read morememorable meals from past travels. One that has stuck with me for years was a rosemary roasted potato pizza I discovered in a little hole-in-the-wall spot in Winnemucca, Nevada. When I saw a similar option on the menu here, I had to give it a try. I ordered the Liberation pizza and added Italian sausage, along with a side of wings and blue cheese. I was also curious about the Mexican street corn but requested it on the side so it wouldn't get soggy during the ride home. The timing was accurate--they quoted about 20 minutes--but parking in this area of North Davidson can be a bit challenging, especially during busy hours. It's a lively, high-traffic intersection, so plan accordingly if you're picking up. Here's where things got a little bumpy. When I got home, I realized the pizzas in the box were not mine. I called the restaurant, and to their credit, they immediately apologized and offered to remake the order right away. That kind of responsiveness goes a long way, and I appreciated their willingness to make it right without hesitation. I drove back to pick up the corrected order, and the staff again apologized and had everything ready. Unfortunately, when I got home the second time, the wings were there--but the blue cheese was missing. At that point, it was late, and I decided to just call it a night. Lesson learned on my end: always take a moment to check the order before leaving. Rookie mistake. Now for the food itself: * Pizza: Delicious overall, with great flavor and quality ingredients. I personally prefer a thinner crust, but the taste was solid. The truffle oil was a bit heavy for my palate and slightly overpowered the other flavors. I also would have preferred the sausage to be crumbled rather than in larger chunks for more even distribution. * Wings: Very good--crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. They just really needed that blue cheese to complete the experience. Despite the hiccups, the team handled the situation professionally, and the food quality is clearly there. This is a popular neighborhood spot with creative menu options, and I'd absolutely give them another try. Helpful tip for future customers: Parking can be tight, and takeout orders can get busy--so double-check your order before you leave. It'll save you a second trip. Overall, a lively local place with strong flavors, good recovery on service, and a menu that's worth exploring.

We each got a drink (strong--in a good way) and ordered pizzas to go: the elote chicken and the liberation potato. Both were super unique and honestly really good. Definitely not your typical pizza lineup, but that's what makes it worth it.
