I cannot ring enough praises for Legacy Roofing Northwest. I can easily second, word for word, all the 5 star reviews preceding mine. Owner Kenny Jobe was a total pleasure to work with. His standout character, professionalism, workmanship, knowledge and guidance are all above par. I obtained estimates from other companies for 3 roofing options (engineered shake reproductions, real cedar shakes and metal). During the bidding process, I sent several emails to Kenny with numerous questions and concerns. This, before even signing a contract, could have tested many a contractor's patience. But Kenny replied with courtesy to each one promptly and thoroughly. After viewing samples from three different companies, we decided on DaVinci Roofscapes' engineered, composite shakes. It looked the most like our original thick, cedar, hand-split shakes that we'd had for decades. We wanted it so badly we were willing to wait out the 22 week lead time from the manufacturer. That meant it would put us smack in the middle of a Northwest winter when they arrived. I was super worried about a very worn roof being exposed to the elements any longer and installing a new roof in wind, rain and cold. I was given peace of mind when Kenny offered, at no extra charge, to protect any parts of the roof where shakes were missing during the summer to endure until we could commence the project in January. Legacy also is careful to cover any exposed areas if there is wet weather while removing the old and installing the new roof. I had my roof replaced by Legacy Roofing NW in the spring of 2022. Kenny Jobe, the owner, was very responsive, and he set up an estimate right away. He looked at my roof thoroughly, and he said that he would give me the best price that he was able to give. He took a few minutes to write up the estimate, and he gave it to me the same day. He explained the process for options and installation. His bid came in quite close to the other two bids I received, but Legacy's bid was still the lowest. One of the reasons I wanted to go with Legacy was that Kenny had a great suggestion that I really appreciated. I had several fascia boards that were rotting at the ends. Kenny suggested that he deliver the fascia boards and trim a few days before the installation so that I could paint them myself in my garage. This out-of-the-box thinking allowed me to have freshly painted fascia boards installed which saved me the expense of having a professional painter paint these after installation. After I was on the schedule, Kenny was excellent with communicating with me regarding his progress on his other jobs and when he would be able to start on my roof. His crew showed up on the day that they were supposed to show up. The roofers were kind and respectful. Each day they cleaned up their jobsite before they left for the day. Legacy roofing runs a tight ship with Kenny at the helm. He purchased the business recently and has a good track record for supervising his teams of roofers and communicating with his customers. He came to my house recently when I called about water damage inside the house that occured with the winter rain. He was patient listening to my concerns, didn't jump to obvious conclusions about the source of the leak and picked up on signs of other problems related to the leak that I had overlooked. In the end, there were two problems causing the issue--a shifting home on a hillside and gutters with caulking failing in the gutter joints. He told me what to communicate to the gutter company and then he left without charging me. I was surprised and so grateful for his help! read more

We obtained bids from three different companies for replacing the roof on our early 60's home and the stand-alone garage. As a part of the bids, We requested quotes for standard shingles, extended life shingles, standard metal roofing and extended life metal roofing. Legacy Roofing owner, Kenny Jobe was very compete and knowledgeable in inspecting the roofs of both buildings and providing information on the options providing color sample and providing the quotes as requested in a timely manner. We opted for a high quality metal roof. The roofing materials were ordered and Kenny was excellent at keeping us informed regarding the anticipated delivery date and start date of the re-roofing project. We were advised by Kenny when the materials were to arrive and when the project was to begin. Kenny was very hands on and his team is very compete, hardworking and extremely efficient in their work and cleanup. The project was done in the time frame expected with a slight delay due to mother nature. The roof looks fantastic and we should not have to replace the roofs again during our ownership. We also asked Kenny and his team if they could remove an old electrical mast, when new electrical was put in and the electrical company said removal of the old mast was outside their work. Kenny came out, looked at what was necessary and scheduled his team to remove the old mast and replace one of the metal roofing sheets. Kenny was able to schedule his team, in between jobs, to make this removal/replacement within two weeks and the work was done an again looks fantastic. We are buying a house that needs a new roof yesterday. Based on research and reading good things, Legacy Roofing was our top choice and #1 on the list of places to call. Unfortunately, they required a $180 fee to come out and do an estimate. We were quite taken aback by this, and declined to have them come out based solely on this fee. We were able to schedule several appointments with roofers who were willing to come out and give us quotes at no cost. I understand that they would like to be compensated for their time, but with the economy what it is, I find charging so much for an estimate to be a bit much. Especially when you're already suffering the financial hardship of having to replace a roof in the first place. read more

We have a new roof! We have a new roof! Legacy was pretty great about the whole process. We got quotes from three firms, and Legacy was the one that was the combination of good price and availability. They kept our property clean throughout the entire process, and made sure that the neighbors' yards all remained clean too (but naturally, one of them just had to complain anyway). We had one issue with the construction process, and they came out promptly, while it was snowing, and fixed all of the things that concerned us. While they weren't perfect, they are definitely recommendable. read more

Legacy Roofing Northwest replaced our 25 year old cedar shake roof with Davinci Shakes. They did this work in January. They managed to do the scrape off, install new sheathing, and lay down the felt and other necessary weather proofing in the one day of good weather we had that week. The crew worked very hard to get all that done before complete darkness and the beginning of the next storm. The rest of the job went just as smoothly! Kenny and his crew proposed and installed a much better ventilation scheme for our house. They got rid of the old mushroom vents that only ventilated isolated areas. They installed vents under the the shakes near the gutters, and installed ridge vents at the crown. Now we have full ventilation from bottom to top in our attic space, and from both sides of the house, not just the back side. The ventilation is not only better it is a big appearance improvement, almost impossible to see unlike the old ugly mushroom vents. The got rid of the ugly kitchen, bath, and sewer pipe vent caps too, installing much better looking vent caps. We absolutely love the look of the Davinci shakes!!! We think our house now has the best looking roof in the neighborhood, and many of our neighbors have gone out of their way to congratulate us, and to inquire about the contractor and the unique type of roof we now have. The realtor who lives across the street says we added a lot to the market value of our house. We recommend Legacy. read more

4-29-08 We needed a new roof and I called State Roofing and Legacy Roofing in order to receive two bids and hear their "sales pitch". State Roofing lost out. The salesman was nice enough but not entirely truthful. Won't go into detail, but I checked the phoney information he fed me to find out that what he said wasn't true at all. He lost me as a customer right there. That and the line... you need to sign up now and get this fantastic discount... yeah. Legacy sent out their estimator, Michael who was a true salesman. He had all the samples of roofing materials on boards in the back of his Legacy van. He patiently explained the differences, what colors might work, etc. He set up his ladder inspected my roof and then came inside to check the attic space. State Roofing's rep said "he wasn't allowed to inspect or go up on the roof due to insurance issues....what??? How can you possibly know what's needed without inspection. Legacy was fairly priced, polite, started the job in two weeks and were done in two days. All the guys were terrific, no loud music, trash talk, etc. The customer service is top notch and they will address your concerns immediately. Nope, I don't work for the company and no one in my family does. I found Legacy because my sister had them do her roof. Another sister said that Legacy was the only roofing company the neighbors wanted to use. I have had my share of nightmare and just plain sloppy work from window installation to bathroom remodel...didn't expect a whole lot from a roofing company, but they are wonderful. Just wish that their business model was emulated by some other home improvement companies. read more

We got an IB roof from Legacy before 2010. I checked them out at the BBB, etc. Part of the reason we chose this company is because they had been around so long and that made me feel more comfortable doing business with them. So, the Seattle area had a storm this past weekend. I call up Legacy Roofing, same phone number, same website, same insignia. They tell me they BOUGHT the name and phone number when Legacy went bankrupt but don't have any of Legacy's records so they refused to come out and touch the roof at all, despite the fact that they do work on roofs. They referred me to Star Roofing. Now, I wasn't calling to collect on the warranty and I didn't think to ask but I would be curious if they would honor the warranty of the business from which they are reaping the rewards (a good reputation and long presence in the community.) read more

Legacy Roofing did a fantastic job. The estimator came out and did a great job. He looked at our house, went up in the attic, pulled out all of his samples, placed them up on the roof so we could see what each sample looked like and gave an accurate bid. The workers on site were conscientious, neat and tidy and did great work. They installed all new flashing correctly, building up around the chimney to prevent water collection and replaced all plumbing vent flashings. They also discovered some rotten plywood and cut it out and replaced it. I was also impressed with the safety precautions of the workers. They placed special fasteners on the roof and the workers were harnessed in at all times. My only problem was that in the middle of our roof job (right after we paid our deposit) the company went through some sort of change. It sounds like they were acquired by Stoneway Roofing and there was a change in the way they processed payment transactions. I had to talk to three people to get it resolved, but in the end I spoke to Russ who was very pleasant and and honored our original agreement. He was very nice. So in the end I am incredibly pleased with their work and would definitely use them again. read more

After sitting on a 30% deposit for 2 months, they no showed on the start date. Total lack of customer service from top down - except during the sales process. We parted ways amicably and they returned deposit with interest but a complete waste of 2 months and now it's rainy season. read more

I am the owner of a single family residence located in Bellevue, Washington. In May, 2007, I contracted with Legacy Roofing, Inc. and Legacy Gutter Services, LLC for work relative to the installation of a new roof and gutters at my home.Legacy Roofing began its work on the Project on or about June 25, 2007.At no time did Legacy Gutter Services provide me with a Disclosure Notice as is required by law. I paid Legacy Roofing and Legacy Gutter Services, LLC in full. The contract I signed with Legacy Roofing was presented to me by Legacy Roofing and promised that all the "work will be performed in a commercially reasonable manner and there will be no significant defects in workmanship." The contract also promises that Legacy Roofing "will promptly return to the project and repair or replace, as necessary, any significant defect in workmanship, at Legacy Roofing's sole expense." The contract states that Legacy Roofing's crews and foreman are "highly-trained, factory certified" company employees who take the "utmost pride" in their work. It also notes that Legacy Roofing employs a Quality Control team to make sure that every roof is installed to their "Gold Standard TM" of quality workmanship and that each job is inspected several times for quality. Legacy also promised to conduct a follow-up inspection one year after installation to check the performance of the roof. Legacy Roofing Gold Standard TM warrants that it will repair any roof failure causing actual and resulting damages as a result of the defective installation at no cost to its customers and that it will repair actual and resulting home damage caused by defective roof installation. Shortly after installation of the new roof and gutters, water leaked into my home through the roof, resulting in damage to my property. An inspection by Legacy Roofing discovered defects in the roof installation. Legacy Roofing reportedly remedied the defect and the damaged property was repaired. Approximately one year after completion of the work, Legacy Roofing conducted a follow up inspection. No problems with the roof or the gutters were reported at that time. On Wednesday May 6, 2009, water again leaked through my roof and caused significant damage to the structure, framing, insulation, sheetrock, and hardwood flooring. I immediately notified Legacy Roofing and on Friday, May 8, 2009, Cliff Hurn, the CEO of Legacy Roofing, Inc. visited my home, inspected the roof and gutters and promised to provide me with a written summary of Legacy's assessment of the cause of the leak and a plan of action to address the roof defects and the damage caused by the defects by the end of the weekend. No such summary and/or plan of action were provided by Legacy. I contacted an independent roof consultant and had the roof and gutters inspected. The roof consultant found numerous significant defects in the roof and gutter installation, including five conditions that violate specific building codes, which caused and/or contributed to leaks and the resulting damage. In addition to repairs to damaged property, both the roof and the gutters will have to be replaced. I notified Cliff Hurn of Legacy Roofing and Legacy Gutter, in writing, of the defects in the roof and gutter that were identified by my independent roof inspector and provided Mr. Hurn with a detailed account of the resulting damages. I also provided them with an opportunity to repair the defective work and property damage and requested that Mr. Hurn provide me with a scope of repair and a schedule for performing the repair work. Neither Legacy Roofing nor Legacy Gutter Services have responded to my request and no further efforts have been made by Legacy to repair the defective work or the damaged property I have been forced to contract with others to remedy the defective work and repair the damage. After providing Legacy Roofing and Legacy Gutter with an opportunity to repair its defective work and the resulting damage, A Cost Spreadsheet that details the actual and estimates costs to remediate, repair and replace the defective work and the resulting damage totaling $99,157.20.I filed suit in Superior court and won a summary judgment, and final judgment for nearly $120,000.00. I am waiting on the response from First Mercury, Legacy's insurance Co. I have now discovered through information obtained from The WA State Sec.of State office that Legacy Roofing and Gutters registered a new contractor's business license, #LEGACG913KK less than a week after being notified of my extensive damage from their defective roof installation, listing the Company's Vice president Hans Hurn's home address as the new company address, and they are blanketing the market with flyers soliciting business under their old name and address using the new business license. read more

I was a little disappointed in how long it took between when I contacted Legacy and when we finally got our gutters (almost 6 weeks) but the work they did was great. Do not use this company!!!!! We had Legacy Roofing put on a new flat roof and I would NEVER use this company again. The Facts: 1) Flat roof was "partially installed on 1st day. A poor attempt to tarp the roof was made. 2) At 2AM, a steady stream of water flowed onto our bed as well as down our walls. 3) At 2:15AM, We made numerous calls to the company hot line and no response was made. I went up on the roof in the storm and it was obvious that little was done to protect the roof for the storms that were rolling in that night. 4) 2AM-8AM; Water was coming from everywhere. Mattress ruined, walls stained. Continued to call hotline and no response. 5) 8AM, the sales guy finally calls. And they are ATTEMPTING to get someone out here to look at the problem. - Roof still leaking - no sleep - I'm ticked. 6) 10AM Crew shows up, they said they were almost done the day before....not sure why this happened. They took the majority of the day to finish even though they "were almost done" 7) They did arrange for servpro ro come dry out our walls,but that was about it. Servpro stayed for a week with dryers and dehumidifiers at our home. 8) I personally replaced my mattress, ripped out the carpet, repaired the walls. The sales guy and the crew did what they could to fix the problem, but it was obvious that the leadership at the company was nonexistent. Through this whole ordeal, not 1 call from someone in a leadership position at this place....until they wanted to be paid they actually showed up at my house. They did give me a discount off the quote, but then again I had to Paint, buy a new mattress, and tear out the carpet and repair the floor. Save yourself a headache and go with another company. read more

They are really bad contractors. They don't warranty their own work. Poorly constructed roof. I had flying shingles the first year (which was OK according to the guy who came to inspect the place). After 5 years noticed that there is crack in the attic vents which was causing a leak. They refused to warranty it. I would not recommend these guys at all. Use Jorve roofing instead. They are less expensive and better customer service. read more
