Although this may not be the best hotel and I would rate it a 3, I'm giving it a 4 because the winter price is a great value. Plus, the little restaurant next to it the Beach house has an outstanding bar and also serves outstanding Italian food too. So you can eat at the restaurant and walk back to your room and not worry about driving. The hotel room itself was clean and well kept. Dirty. Every linen was stained. Broken elevator - 1 for the whole hotel. Toilet ran incessantly. Carpet was bunched (tripping hazard). Unplugged the blow dryer and the plug was almost in half (electric risk). Bathroom outlet was flashing red (suspect). Everything is old dusty rusty and gross. Pool was out of service. Toilet is tiny like an elementary school. Had to sit sideways because it's so close to the shower. Staff are clueless. When I booked I was promised a ground floor room as we are traveling with a pet. Ended up on the 4th floor. Mattress is TERRIBLE. Filthy windows. Overall a terrible experience and I will never go back. The ONLY redeemable factor is its easy access to the beach, if you can navigate the dog shit on the way. read more

It's really not the fact that it's outdated, but it doesn't appear clean and fresh due to very old carpet, warped/scratched floors in the elevators, walls that need to be painted..everywhere. It smells like it's never aired out in the main lobby. Contemplated only staying one night instead of the two we booked. Cigarette butts all over the ground at the bottom of the entrance steps. Our room was not ready at 4:00. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes. Bathroom shower mat was dingy/dirty. All of us chose not to shower. Booked two nights, ended up staying one. They should be ashamed at the prices they are charging. Everything is outdated and dingy. It's really upsetting to know that people pay maintenance fees yearly for this property and it seems upgrades are non-existent. And forget about parking, you'll be lucky if you get a spot in the parking lot. If you do get a spot, you'll most likely get blocked in by the valet parking staff trying to accommodate all the resturant and beach guests. You need to understand what you're signing up for when staying here. It's a fairly priced, oceanfront hotel that is literally falling apart. The place has so much potential but no one is keeping it up. The towels and linens were clean. I think our biggest complaint was the lack of customer service. There is no daily housekeeping/maid service here unless you pay $35 per cleaning. We were never told this...well, finally upon our third visit to the front desk we were. Beach tags are provided by the hotel...great! except they never told us this and we purchased on the beach. We asked for a credit after learning from other guests that beach tags are provided. The front desk girl deferred me to the manager who wouldn't be in until after our stay ended and shockingly, the manager refunded us without a fight! In the bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are supposed to be provided in dispensers on the wall...great! but 2 of the 3 were empty. There is no ice machine on the property but we learned from other patrons that you can ask at the front desk for a bag of ice. It would have been nice if all these little things were explained to us at check in or listed somewhere instead of having to learn by chatting with others halfway through our stay! Parking: 1 spot is provided per room, street parking is available for extra cars and it is easily found and free! Wi fi: provided at hotel whether you're in the room or on the property. I had a lot of problems using my cell phone for internet (with my data plan) while on the beach. On the weekends, I couldn't use my data at all due to all the thousands of other people in the area trying to use their phones as well. On the weekdays, I didn't have any issue. Bar/restaurant: I think it should be noted that there is a bar and grill attached to the hotel (no affiliation) and they have live music daily. We traveled over 3 hours. Checked in at night. We were in town for a funeral in the morning. The hotel lost power in the middle of the night. Since it is an old building, the wind was so loud it was as if the windows were opened. Not like we could drown out the howling wind with tv, no power. The mattress had no support and was like sleeping on a water bed. Everything was outdated and desperately needs updating. Our phones were unable to charge due to the loss of power. No landline in room. In the morning we took cold showers with very low water pressure, in the dark. No hair dryer. Being on the 7th floor, we opted to take the stairs due to fear of getting stuck in the elevator. Manager was not available at check out to consider ANY compensation. I have been trying to get in touch with the hotel for over 2 weeks. No one answers. We were there for a very sad occasion which was made worse by the conditions of the hotel. NEVER AGAIN. read more

For a older beach hotel this wasn't bad at all. Room was big enough for 4 people and not be too packed in. Kitchen was set for a basic morning meal if needed. The microwave did spark and the coffee maker didn't come with a filter so we didn't use those. Everything was clean and fresh linens. Everything stocked. It is so sub par to any other Legacy or RCI resort. It's really a shame because the oceanfront location is breathtaking. And Laguna Grill & Rum Bar which is attached to the hotel, but no affiliation with it has done a beautiful update of inside & outside. But the units in the resort are so run down & outdated. That said, they are clean & have everything you need: with fridge & kitchen. Bathrooms need total overhaul. I feel like the last 3x I've been here over past 5 years: One elevator non functional, 2nd one super slow & very shaky. Indoor pool not open. This is recurring theme. Website still lists as an amenity. Hallways smell musty. No AC in halls so it's often very sticky outside your unit. Parking is a problem. Spots not saved for hotel guests when Friday, Saturday, Sunday valet for Laguna Grill. We own timeshare unit here and will be submitting complaint with corporate. It's not up to standards at all. Put some money into the place. New bathrooms, new kitchens, better TVs. That said Brigantine Beach is beautiful place to spend a weekend, enjoy the beach and restaurants. Close to AC. We stayed here for my best friend's wedding. Its not worth the money we paid. The bride was initially given a room that had a giant hole in the wall. We stayed in the villas, the hallways and elevator were hot and humid, didn't help with our hair and make up. Almost everything was broken in our room. Doors didn't work. Dispensers in bathroom were empty. Bottom of flimsy tub felt like you could fall through. Almost ALL the drawers fell onto my feet out when I opened them. Ripped curtains. Sticky toys on the ceiling. Missing door knobs. BALCONY DOORS WERE SCREWED SHUT. To elaborate on that it seems the balconies could collapse if you stepped foot on them. Broken chairs. PROS: The people that work here are very nice and the parking lot is a good size for the guests. The prices are good and it's right next to the beach. The rooms are a good size too, while the bed is comfortable. Each room has an iron, mini fridge, and stove/oven CONS: The building is run down and is literally falling apart. A few days after check out, you'll see another charge on your card for the mandatory "resort fee", that covers use of the pool, parking lot, computers, etc...even if you don't use any of them. I understand that hotels need to cover costs for these things, but why not just include that in the normal room fee? If not, then don't make it mandatory if the customer doesn't use that stuff. There are so many bad things about this "resort ", I have to write a list: 1. We got there and there was no parking. 2. We were told to park in the handicapped spots and leave our keys with the concierge. 3. Despite having handicapped parking, the entrance to the hotel isn't handicapped-accessible. There are no ramps, not for the wheelchairs, walkers nor luggage. 4. The concierge had poor service. There was a patron there screaming about his disgusting room, that has leaks and brown ceilings and he was refusing to pay for the room. All of the staff ignored us, as they all stood there listening to the man throw a fit. 5. Once we got to our room, my first shocker was the outdatedness of the room, unlike the pictures we saw on the website. There are popcorn popcorn and dropped (caving in) ceilings from the 1980s. I posted pictures. Then... there was the smell... from the leaking dishwasher which I slipped and broke my flip-flops from the fall. (More about that later. ) 6. The bathroom had no vanity for you to place your makeup or toiletries on. 7. We didn't even have a comforter on our bed. Again, unlike the pictures that they post on the site. 8. The pool was closed. No notice or apology was given to use about that. 9. The pooltable was closed. 10. The attached "restaurant" does NOT have room service. *Some "resort" - huh? 11. More about the "restaurant". It had the WORST food I've ever ordered. I got the pan-seared salmon and pineapple rice. The salmon was slipping and slopping around in the grease-covered plate. The rice had no pineapple, no flavor, no semblance of real rice. It was greasy and gross. 12. I could go on and on and on about how nasty and old the elevators were and how dirty the man's hands were at the front desk or about how I slipped and asked for the manager to address that. But, was told he wouldn't be back UNTIL NEXT WEEK! But, I will stop since you can tell that the only high point of this hotel is the PRICE - $300 a night. If I could rate this place a 0, I would. My boyfriend and I were checked into a dirty room. The room was outdated, the bed was standing by a thread, the bathroom had hair/grease on it. The carpet smelled like mold. The ceiling had water damage. It literally looked like an asylum. The pictures on the website do not compare to the actual place. We were told it would be rectified by getting a "cleaner" room, but really why would you stay in another room after this initial encounter. We didn't stay. I tested positive for Covid (I'm fully vaccinated and got a booster shot, and had no symptoms) so I had to cancel my reservation, but they still forced me to pay a $166 deposit, which is the cost of the room for one night, because it wasn't within a 72 hour notice. Their business practices are unfair and borderline unethical. There was no sense of understanding or any willingness to work with me in a situation that is totally out of my control. I understand cancellation policies, but they gave no explanation as to why they were entitled to the entire cost of the room. read more

Loved the historic aspect and seemingly well maintained resort. Clean throughtout and friendly staff. A little disappointing was the indoor pool. Water cold, could use minor updating. Bottom of pool floor.. was weirdly shaped and could use a heated pool for at night, newer chairs, etc, but overall ok :) Beach- We felt was private and somewhat secluded, well maintained and clean sand. We visited over the Labor Day weekend and some great bands played throughout the day and night at Laguna Grill and bar. Great atmosphere, food, and people. Legacy Resort is not on our list of most sophisticated resorts list but it is home to us. We have been coming here for years so we see the good in this place. Every year they seem to upgrade and update certain things. This place has its Great points but very little Bad points. The Great points make up for the bad points. First of all, it sits right on the beach- HUGE PLUS...Easy access to the beach , restaurant (Laguna) and to your room for a quick get away. The resort is equipped with pool which seems to always be empty. No life guard and stuffy like a sack of wet socks in a jar. Best way to describe it ... It also has a nice seating area at the entrance for some great breezy nights and drinks. The rooms are equipped with a kitchen, small dining room table, sofa bed and bed room. Stove in the kitchen is electrical so you better know your stuff lol. Bathroom shower has great water power but the toilet leaves more to be desired. Other than a few obstacles, dislikes it is a great stay. You can't be the LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION......close to a few good eats, Yiannis, Andres, Mad Dog Morgans and about 10 mins to Atlantic City for a nice interruption of boardwalk and slots.... read more

Pleasantly surprised! We weren't sure what to expect after reading other reviews, but booked last minute and took the chance. The location is amazing!!! We were able to walk right out to the beach and had great ocean views from our room. We booked through a 3rd party site not realizing it was a junior suite. We asked if they had 1 bedroom suites as we had our baby with us too and for about $20 per night (upgrade and taxes) we were able to upgrade to the larger room, which was perfect for us. All of the staff was amazingly friendly and kind. The decor is a little dated, but it is clean. The bed wasn't super comfortable, but okay. The pillows were really the worst though, so if we stay again we will bring our own. It seems they only have queen beds and frankly, I don't like my husband that much, haha, so would prefer king size, the room size would definitely support that size bed. The pool was...odd. It was clean and open but the actual floor/slope of the pool was very abnormal and it made it a little difficult when trying to swim/play with our daughter. Luckily we only visited the pool twice as we had great beach days and were able to spend most of our time on the beach. We had no problems parking, but honestly except leaving one night, we parked the car and just walked everywhere. They are just a block away from several restaurants, convenience stores etc. We would definitely stay here again and it was a great value for us. read more

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!! This place is old and out dated. We had ocean view but we couldn't see out the windows because of the old windows that had the gas escape out, so it made it very difficult to see anything through the windows except moisture. The refrigerator had a big dents on it. None of the appliances matched in brand or color, the carpet was rippled and dirty their was pot in the kitchen cabinet that was dirty with signs of food left in it! (Gross) the phone didn't work, the chain on the toilet had broken therefore it wouldn't flush. It was one thing after another! We had 7 days there through RCI, my husband and I left after the 3rd day. We couldn't get a refund so, we just left and went to another hotel (which we had to pay for) which was a breath of fresh air. RCI should be ashamed at themselves for listing The Legacy of Brigantine as a resort of RCI. If you are custom to a pristine lifestyle then this place is definitely NOT for you! We felt like we where auditioning for a part the "SLUM DOG MILLIONAIRE 2"!! Don't waste your time or money! They did offer us the Penthouse but it was no better, it's the same room but on the top floor LOL! If your goal is to get a close spot to the beach with parking and you don't really care how nice the room is, then Legacy Vacation Club is for you. That was our goal when looking for a place for a few days and we got that for a decent, med student budget. Parking and beach tags for all the days here were included which was nice. The hotel has an ancient elevator that makes all sorts of noises and is VERY slow, so getting up to the 5th floor was a little more of an adventure than I would have liked. The room was sizable which was nice, we had a kitchen with a stovetop, small oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. I always look for kitchens when I go on vacation because of my food allergies and this was great. There's also a coffee pot, plenty of dishes, silverware etc and a dishwasher too. Our room had a little living room and then the bedroom itself. There were two TVs- one in each room- which was essential for keeping up on the Harry Potter marathon that was running this weekend. The major drawbacks of the room was that it felt WET. I don't know how to describe it in any other way but everything we brought into the room left with a dampness that is going to require some laundry at home. With the damp came a bit of a smell which was also not awesome but if you don't spend too much time in the room, it's not a big deal. The temperature also doesn't regulate very well. We went from freezing to hot and back again over and over. Also the band that plays at the restaurant downstairs could be heard from our room and we weren't even on the side of the building facing them. The major pro of the hotel is that it is literally right on the beach. You couldn't ask for a better location if you want to just be on the beach all day long. It's right next to the a beach front bar and grill and walking distance from a few other restaurants. And if you're in need of groceries or a pharmacy, CVS, Wawa and Acme are all short drives away. If you want to get some water time but not the beach, the hotel has an indoor pool too. Overall the location was exactly what we wanted for the price but the hotel room itself wasn't the greatest. Legacy Vacation Resorts Brigantine Beach. We reserved 3 rooms, 6 months ago, for a family vacation. We requested rooms to be together. Upon arrival they gave away our room and gave use a room on a different floor Room 504. This room should have been condemned. It smelled of mildew, the carpet was old with very large wrinkles (trip Hazzard) and FILTHY, DISGUSTINGLY FILTHY! The AC leaked water all over the carpet ((About 3 foot round wet spot) The AC cover was hanging off almost to the floor. My poor granddaughter was crawling on the floor and became soaking wet with black hands and knees and legs. Her clothes turned black and would not come clean. Couch was old, worn and would not open to sleep on. The TVs were small 19"with 1 remote. The bed was old and worn, the mattress leaned to one side. Window shades stuck all the way up probably because of the thick amount of dust on them. Only 1 working lamp in bedroom, bulbs missing from the other lamps. I don't have enough room to continue this review, but you get the picture. Upon check out they added an additional charge that we knew nothing about a $47.95 RESORT FEE PER ROOM PER DAY My wife complained about this room 504 and the manager said they were aware of this room and said they would give us a FULL REFUND. Refund was just for room 504. We have it in writing. It has been almost 3 weeks and still no refund. My wife talked to the manager there and he refused to give the refund for the room and only offered a 1-day refund. Very POOR Management especially going back on another manager's word (in writing. To start off our stay we found out that we were given false information on the phone when booking the room. We were told it was a room with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. To find one queen bed and a sofa bed. We still fit our family but wasn't what we were expecting. Secondly we were told checkout was 12pm (we were surprised too) to find out it was 10 am. The elevators up to the rooms barely work, most of the time we just decided to take the stairs. Both our tv remotes didn't work. When I tried to call the front desk for replacements both phones in the room didn't work. One being outdated, falling off the wall and stained yellow. Only one of the ac's worked property in the room. Leaving the living room/kitchen area hot. It seemed like the central air didn't work well around the hotel due to how hot it was in the lobby, changing room areas, and halls. Late night front desk worker was very nice and helped in every way he could. This wasn't the worst place that I've stayed at but it definitely isn't worth $500 for a Tuesday night. read more

We had a great stay here. We were happy with our room and with the location of the hotel in relation to the beach. Very convenient. Only complaint is we were told that housekeeping would be by at 11:00am so we went to lunch and came back 2 hours later and room wasnt done. We had to call down to desk to get someone to come by. We had heard rave reviews about the Laguna bar / restaurant downstairs but were disappointed in it. It was rather dull with no music despite having a large outdoor stage for a band. Checking out today after a week stay. I don't understand what all the negative reviews are about. When we arrived the hotel was sold out. We got the only room left and, as requested, we got an ocean view. When asked about a balcony room they said they could switch us once rooms opened up. Usually the front desk forgets they offered it but not here! They offered it the next day and said the room was ready. Easy to get to. Right on the beach. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean. Ours had a kitchen and sitting room. A tad dated overall. But very pleasant. We were in one of the penthouses. And there was a serious lack of water pressure. But nothing that was unmanageable. Just took a little longer to get the shampoo out of your hair. Informed them at checkout and they said they would look into it. A touch pricey, but we booked last min on a holiday, so was kind of expected. All in all I'd stay there again. read more

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! The website lies, there are NO two bedroom rooms, just one bed and a pull out couch. The bed came with a single sheet and the couch had none. Called front desk and it took them 40 minutes to bring some. Hotel shares a parking lot with a restaurant and many times there's not enough spaces so they block you in!!!! If you stay on the first floor the WiFi doesn't work and you have one bar for cell service. Also took at least a half an hour each day to get fresh towels. The ONLY positive and truthful thing on the website site is it is right on the beach. Don't waste your money and time here!!!! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! I would leave zero stars if I could but that is not an option. This was the most filthy, horrible hotel I've ever stayed at and the management and staff all know it and don't care. The air returns were caked with filth, the floors were disgusting, windows, doors, etc were just gross. Then let's talk about the safety concerns- broken balcony doors, broken balcony, live wires hanging over the kitchen sink, microwave on top of the refrigerator, plugged into an outlet INSIDE a cabinet! Fire alarms that weren't interconnected by code, a beeping alarm in the lobby the whole time we were there. Elevator that worked intermittently. When we told the manager we were leaving and wanted a refund he actually said, "Good luck, we already have your money". What a POS! Karma, my friend. Stay ANYWHERE but here. The owners and managers DO NOT CARE! Thankfully I have AMEX on my side and will continue to dispute to court if I have to. read more
