BUYER BEWARE: They try to cheat you at Legend Audi. I first dealt with Richard Hayat (he as been selling cars for 18 months). He was very pleasant to talk to. He had go to Ed Jaffe (been there 25+ years). I told both Richard and Ed my specific requirements regarding the terms of my lease. 36 months, 15K per year, No money down and of course specifics that i needed within the vehicle. I went in at 9am. They kept me there 2 hours to figure out the deal. We then agreed on a number and the terms of the lease. I went back with my wife 2 hours later to finish and sign the deal (which they said had to be done immediately...because i was getting such a great deal). We did the insurance paperwork, credit app. etc. I was just about to sign the final document when i noticed that THEY CHANGED THE TERMS OF THE LEASE...AND TRIED TO SNEAK IT BY. We ALWAYS agreed in 36 months. NOW IT WAS 39 months. TOTAL BS. Dealer is a total rip off. They cleverly tried to get it past me. I was very annoyed. Ed blamed Richard for being NEW and not telling him. ANOTHER BS story. A was specific. ONLY a 36 Month Lease....NOT 39. I told them I was walking out... Ed said "You wont get that deal anywhere" WELL ED.................I DID!!!! I got the exact deal i wanted at Audi of Lynbrook. I dealt with Saheed the Sales manager. It was an amazing transaction. The Salesman Michael P. answered all my questions and was very helpful and the Finance Mgr got me an excellent APR. I would definitely recommend this dealership. Please don't waste your time at this dealership!, four years ago I went with my grandson and niece to look at a pre owned Jetta that was advertised by Legend VW. while looking around a salesperson came and asked if he can help me. so I asked about the Jetta that was advertised as a CPO vehicle . He showed me the car, but it didn't look like a CPO. Car so I asked to get the keys and look more closely at the vehicle. What I discovered was a car that hadn't been clean on the inside and the engine bay was full of grime and dirt. I asked the salesman why a CPO. Car looks so dirty.? his answer was,being a small mom and pop dealership they do it differently. Firstly you have to buy the car then they would certify it for me, so I said, that is not how the process works. An advertise certified pre owned means just that, so he began to offer me $2500 less if I didn't want it certified..as I was discussing the issues with this car with this sales person, a sales manager was near by listening so he decided to interject himself. To my biggest shock this guy became loud and belligerent, he started asking me if I was a mechanic and what the F...k I know about cars, so I ask this fellow not to use such language in front of a 4 and 7yr old and to my shock this guy became enraged and said I should get off his f...king property before he call the cops, I said to him that he was a poor excuse for a human being and left, I called the BBB and reported it. This guy try to cover his tracks so what he did was to send a different Vin# to the BBB and told them that I was the one who came and yelled and used foul language. I contacted Vw right away and they told me they had gotten several complaints before and was looking into the dealership. After getting back home I called the dealership to complain to the manager about my experience, the manager was apologetic. but I said it was too late to convince me otherwise. Stay away,they took my 2009 Tuigan apart for a roof leak and then 're assembled it like junk yard workers.Nothing went back the way it came out, the car had. Less than 18,000 miles on it. I had to trade it in to get rid of this mess that they made. They had the car for over a month and then didn't even want to pay the rental on the car that they supplied me with from enterprise. I wrote a letter to Volkswagen headquarters and never got an answer, that's German engineering right!!. Guess what my 2015 is now is subaru. Please STAY AWAY from their service. My Volkswagon Routan 2009 was serviced back in March 2013 - transmission & power steering. When the service was completed, I picked up the car, drove home the short distance, and parked in my driveway. The next morning while at a traffic light, the car started to go on fire from the engine and eventually burst into flames. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I don't believe it was a coincidence that it happened a few hours since the car was picked up from the service at Legend Audi Volkswagon in Amityville. When I told them of the incident, they had no explanation and were only able to say "sorry it happened". They were unprofessional from the start and the end result of the car showed, unfortunately. so we brought our 2012 jetta because heroil pressure symbol came on. Couldn't get an appointment for a couple of days, so, we brought it in on friday Jan. 12 and low and behold 4 hours and $700. later we were done. So friday evening wanting to go out we took the car, in a little bit started making funny noises. Took the car sat morning, service closed. Monday morning at 8:00 am went up there, and found out the pump and hose went. Wanted $800. for parts that cost total about$250.. I understand labor is expensive but 4 hrs. for the first job!!! My 2014 A4 Quattro developed a steering problem which made the car not steer when you wanted, and then also would pull to one side when you were going straight. I had the car to the Audi dealership service area as I saw other persons posting with the same problem. The service department stated that the lower-mid steering rod that goes from the bottom of the steering wheel device to the cross drive axle needs to be replaced. I told them that the piece was full metal, and what could go wrong with a metal piece of equipment. They stated that the metal weathers, and the U-joint would become hard to turn and gets sticky. Their price for the new steering arm and replacement work was $800. I asked about any protection of this not happening again, since they were putting in a new metal arm, and they said No guarantees. So I said then this could happen again. They just stared at me with no response. So I took the car home and looked into the problem more and thought more about it. I had blue marine grease that I used for my sailboat, and put that all over the shaft and the U-joint, and guess what. Steering is back to normal. Saved myself $800, and probably another $800 when it would have happened again the same way 5 years more down the line. AUDI should put a boot around that whole area so the elements do not affect the u-joint, or better help that area being affected. But we will see how long the Marine Grease will keep the U-Joint pliable and easy to turn. This is a serious Safety Hazard and should be reported and remedied by Audi ASAP for all cars with this exposed metal steering units.. read more

THE WORST, worse than Huntington VW Service, which is saying a lot! The Service manager BILL is oblivious to anything & everything, my words went in one ear & out the other, & the "Yes yes yes" price quotes turned into nothing even close to his GUARANTEED prices (Not estimates). He doesn't return calls unless you try 5 times, he dresses like he's headed to a dive bar after work, & he doesn't make eye contact, as most liars don't. The place is a mess, with a tiny waiting area adorned with an old uncarpeted floor, old vinyl flat benches in that 1970 orange color-the rock hard kind that crack...you know. I had to stand while waiting, & there were only 4 other people waiting. Actually preferred standing anyway. The other manager who I only spoke to on the phone (Rocco) comes across as if he's working at Walmart. Blunt, cold, passive. His attitude matches his name, if you get my drift. This service dept. is the pits, so don't even think of making a Pit stop here under ANY circumstances! Oh, & they keep their new cars in a mud-lot across the street! Fittingly so.... Everything is cramped here, more proof that whoever owns this mess picked the cheapest real estate they could find, & is at least 3 times too small for their inventory. Guess low sales due to their rep. has a little to do with that. Need you know anything else? Do a drive-by & look, both at the dealership & the mud-lot across the street where they keep their new cars. See for yourself what a travesty this dump is! read more

The service department is HORRIBLE!!!!!! The manager Scott is the rudest, pompous a-hole I have ever met in my life. The women Dawn who also works behind the counter there has an attitude equally to the manager Scott. She has a permanent resting miserable face!! Shame on you for treating your loyal customers with attitudes and not be accommodating. Treat me bad once shame on you, treat me bad twice shame on me! If you do go there for service I do recommend you deal with Bill in service he is the only one there that actually knows how to treat and respect people. Went to look at the Audi A4 and the Audi A3. it took almost 20 minutes to get a test drive of the A4, seemed they didn't have a tester car on the lot, so they pulled out a brand new one; white paper still on it. They didn't have an A3 on the lot, so had to wait a week for them to get one. when i got there to test drive it, our salesperson was working with other clients; apparently wrapping up a sale. he came over and told us it would be a few minutes. I'm perfectly fine with that, however, the owner (who was pointed out to me) was sitting at a table with his buddies playing on his phone and talking while we waited for close to a half hour. our salesperson should have had someone else take us for the test, and then spoke to us when we returned about our interest. I recently bought a used vehicle from here and was charged a VW certification fee. The vehicle was advertised as VW certified preowned on a popular cars buying website, however when i arrived at the dealer i was informed that this is only a PRE certification and ther would be additional charge for the actual certification. Not being completley comforatble with this i contacted VW America for some clarification on exactly how the certification works. There is no fee for the certification. I was being lied to by the salesman(expected) and the finance mgr. This dealer is the worst of the worst. They are dishonest and blatant thieves. They do not stand behind there vehicles and will take more measures to prove you wrong or wiggle out of there obligation rather then adress the problem and work on a real resolution. Through much prodding by VW america and me threataning the GM that i would picket in front of there showroom i was finally refunded my certification fee after the owner reviewed my file. The funny part about this story is the refund check was labeled as customer overpayment. LMAO. I negotiated a transaction for my 70+ year old mother-in-law to not only purchase her 2014 Passat at the end of her lease but to lease another as well. Once all was done they took it upon themselves to increase the price $ 500-700 when she arrived to pick up the cars. When I called to ask for some clarity David all but said too bad they signed the papers. My family has been a customer for $20 years! Never again. They did this all for $500 bucks. I went to this dealship after shopping at another which I didn't trust. I worked with a salesman name Charlie who I thought was great and I finally found an honst dealer. Well that ended shortly after I left a deposit and I was not able to get the loan I hoped for so the payments were too high. I was told they would find me about car and that hasn't happened. Every time I call for my deposit back they say they are refunding it and have a car that they will work out the number and call me back. Almost 3 weeks later still no money or car. i purchased a car for my daughter at the VW dealership in Amityville. I shook hands with the manager on the lease of the vehicle. I also was informed since it was a holiday (MLK) that it was "too" late to prep your car you come back tomorrow. I had no problem with this therefor, I said thank you and i will send my wife to pickup the car tomorrow. Unfortunately, unbeknown to me they pushed paperwork on her added 30 dollars more to the original agreed upon leasing monthly payment. In addition, to top the cake the finance manager told my wife, "Oh I need you to sign the title that's in YOUR HUSBAND's name. She hesitated but he reassured her, "its ok", without ever letting me know other wise. I would have never gone through with the deal if I knew that they raised the amount. I repeat, "THEY MADE" my wife sign the back of MY title which was in my name only. If i had known of the price increase i would have never taken the car. It was an extremely tricky and dirty deal. When I demanded to extinguish the deal they exclaimed it was too bad your wife signed everything. WATCH OUT FOR SAM D. THE MANAGER OF VOLKSWAGEN. Ill start off by saying the technicians are amazing !! My car went in 3 days ago because it wasn't starting, after some testing they found several issues. My car was there longer than expected and unfor. they didn't have a loaner car for me to take - only frustrating part - i got my car back last night and its perfect! My only advice is have patience, the front desk workers in the service do NOT work in the back and unfor. they tell misleading information about the work on the car - on there end they need to actually walk back there and check to tell the customer the correct state of the car- but needless to say, i have been to many VW dealerships and this is the ONLY one that i would recommend. After all my warranty work was done, i did need a new battery, i bought one from them but asked them not to stick it in because of the price ($100) but when i went and got my car they had put my battery in for FREE! another huge plus =) So all in all ... i recommend using Amityville VW. Their service department was dishnonest and incompetent. I Brought my car in for an overheat problem. It was five hours before I finally called them for the diagnosis. They incorrectly diagnosed the problem which according to their estimate was over $900 to repair. My local repair shop fixed the problem for $45. Worse yet, they charged me two hours of labor for the diognosis without my permission. The diognosis shouldn't have taken two hours, it was wrong and they wouldn't refund my money. Don't trust them! I am so disappointed and disgusted with my 2009 Audi A5 that i cannot even express how bad my Audi experience is so far. I should have stayed with my Mercedes Benz. I took my car to the Audi dealership to get my window fixed and they actually caused 3 more things to break on the car and now i have to pay for it when the car is under warranty?? Horrible experience with Audi service. Dealerships have incompetent and badly trained mechanics and customers need to pay for that. Would give them a zero but not an option.Took my car in for ignition problem,Was told problem fixed good to go.Was in W.Virginia the next day and the problem was back .Car would not start.Called Legend and spoke to DAWN SCARPINATO.Told her I was in W. Virginia and my problem.She told me I needed to bring car in and that the car worked when it left shop the day before. After 5 times telling her I was in W Virginia I ask to speak to someone else.She hung up on me.Got car back to Long Island and went to Audi.They told me I needed a new ignition.I said can you deduct the original non fix from the price and was told no that was a diagnostic test.238 for ignition and 447 plus tax for labor.I took car to another shop where they did the ignition for 260 Went to start the car and the same problem occurred.The car would not start.Took ignition out and saw the problem was a bad wire.I went to talk to owner about what occurred and he said he would get back to me. He never did.He did tell me they charge their inflated prices because they send their mechanics to school .So here is recap.Spent 161 dollars on a problem that wasnt fixed.Called to discus what we can do about problem the next day and was hung up on by DAWN SCARPINATO.Got car back to Legend and was told I needed a part 238 plus 447 labor to fix non existent problem.149 an hour.I f the original diagnostic cost could not be returned because it had to be done anyway then it would have shown the problem they were telling me was a problem was not the problem Update I got a visit from owner Mike Siegel and a BALD HEADED STOOGE at my house on the morning of July 6th THREATENING me about the signs I put up outside his shop as a public service.The signs were warning people about this dealership.One of his threats among many were we know where you live.The threats were reported to the Amityville police dept.This is the owner.NEED I SAY MORE If they made a movie about this dealership they would cal it swindles list read more

I would give less than one star but there's no option to do so. I brought my 2014 Passat in for annual inspection (year 2 of lease) and was told I need 4 new brakes and rotors...the cost would be $1000. I found that very hard to believe because I only had 17,000 miles on them! I brought my boyfriend in to talk to them and we were then told they "cleaned them off"and I should get a little more wear out of them but they would soon have to be replace. Needless to say we went to a private garage and saw that the rotors were fine as were the brakes. Maybe they were trying to take advantage of my lack of car knowledge because I am a woman. Whatever the reason is DO NOT USE THEM! They are a complete rip-off! Funny how when I went there for my 2 year inspection it passed ....how would it pass if I needed 4 new brakes and rotors as they told me a few months earlier. My Passat has had so many problems within the first 2 years...stalling while car is driving, complete replacement of the power steering pump and rack and pinion, fuse box washers replaced (whatever that is), they claim to have rotated the tires and never did and now the fronts must be replaced, major squeaking whenever I go over a bump...they claim there's no sqeak. What makes me madder is that my initial plan was to buy the car outright at the end of the lease and now that I know I would never want to own this piece of garbage I must pay them $350 to give it back...according to my lease. It makes me sick to pay them anything. My advice...stay away from this dealership service and Volkswagon in general read more

Despite the fact that I left the shop with a barely functioning vehicle, which luckily made it home despite stalling at a red light, i have to say that i was more than impressed with the service for the first time ever. When they couldnt get my not worth fixing car started for me to schlep home, the mechanic who worked on my car came out to explain all the issues he found and how unsafe it would be to drive. After I stood there eyes welling up and insisted that I lived close enough that I just needed the heap running, they managed to get the codes cleared so I could get it home. They stuck to the agreed upon diagnostic price and didn't try to sell me on fixing the zillion things wrong which would have exceeded the value of the car. Be nice if my "new" jetta lived past 88500 miles, but thats not the fault of these guys. Very satisfied with my experience and thankful that Rocco and the mechanic went the extra mile to get the pos running so i could get it home. read more

I would give them a zero if it was an option. Shadiest dealer I've ever dealt with. Had an ECU failure...fine I was tuned and you have to pay to play. Instead of paying the 1100 for a new ECU I bought one used and dropped it off to them. At that point I asked where i was as far as money owed in diagnostics. I was told $400. Next day i got a call back with car running fine on new ECU and my quoted bill was $1037. I knew the VW stated labor was 2.5 to 3 hours for an ECU. The quote didn't match labor. Went to pick up my car and stated those facts and questioned my total. After a brief back and forth i was told my bill could be reduced with no reason why stated. Ended up paying $740 which is exactly what it should have been. I'm sorry but questioning a dealer bill doesn't drop it $300. They were obviously trying to overcharge me. I'm very worried about how many people have been duped by this shady practice at Legend VW. To top everything off I picked up my car with a cracked windshield which BILL swears came that way.
