Great little place to stop for breakfast. Clean and tidy place with not too much fan fare on the walls. You place your order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Being unfamiliar with Acton I looked at the reviews before bringing my grandson to breakfast . When I entered the staff was so friendly and accommodating - even asking if I would like a high chair. The eggs and muffins were delicious ! There is even an outside patio my grandson could run around in . Typically the card swiping machine is swung around so you can add a tip - this is only one of a few places I wanted to add one, however it's not a feature on their machine which is surprising based on my experience . Went here for breakfast. The spot is small and parking is limited. When you walk in it looks like an average cafe of sorts that you would typically see. I got French toast. The French toast on the affordable side. I got an iced tea due to the selection of drinks besides coffee being limited. They do not have orange juice. The seating is nice. Tables are good size and chairs are comfortable. The food is brought to you. The cafe is not loud and is enjoyable to eat there. Stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to Logan airport. You order at the counter and take a seat and they bring you your food. Staff was super kind and service was fast. The iced coffee was very good - I got mine with cream and mocha and my partner got his black we both enjoyed very much. Food portions were generous and tasted good! I enjoyed my chocolate chip pancake and my friend liked the french toast with fresh strawberries. Partner got a croissant from the pastry display case he liked too. Interior is cute and clean. While at the Acton Discovery Museum, my friend and I were trying to decide where to take our little ones for lunch. We both wanted salads, but also needed a place with good options for kids (and a grilled cheese for her son). Thanks to Yelp reviews, we found Legend Cafe! It was very close to the museum and we were able to get a table right away. One woman (possibly the owner?) even set up a high chair at a table for us without even asking and before we'd even picked a table. The man who took our order (also possibly the owner?) was so pleasant and patient. I asked which salad was the best and he suggested the Walnut Chicken, so that's what I did. It was very nicely presented and a great size. I loved that it didn't have too much cheese or walnuts. My son's chicken fingers were super crispy on the outside and seemed really delicious - he devoured them all. I tasted a few yummy fries. VERY generous portions. I was so glad we found this restaurant and will definitely come back the next time we're in the area and looking for a place to eat. My husband and I were traveling through Acton on our way to Boston and to Portland, ME. While staying in Boxborough, we searched for breakfast places and decided to give this place a try. So glad we did. We are extremely happy with everything. The food is beyond delicious, and the service is also so amazing! They made us feel so welcome. Food comes out at a decent time - not too fast and not long. So worth it! The first time we each got the Legend breakfast (3 eggs), and the second day we got the Light Legend breakfast (2 eggs). I got mine with scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries and whole wheat toast. My husband got the same but with bacon. We also got coffee and an orange juice (Tropicana in a bottle). Free refills for coffee - can get it in a mug and/or in a to-go cup. They had various selections for coffee - decaf, French Roast, Colombian, Pumpkin Spice, and another which I can't remember. My favorite was the Colombian. We didn't order them because our food was pretty hefty, but others in there ordered the colossal buttermilk pancakes (3), and they seemed to be enjoying them. They looked good too. You can get plain or add fruit and stuff to them (i.e. blueberry, strawberry, banana, chocolate chips). I also noticed a lot of locals here. And a lot of people would come in for their baked goods. They also serve lunch. Order at the counter and then take a seat. They will bring your food to your table. And when you're finished, just take your tray and plates etc to the disposal bins. If you're in the area or surrounding areas, this is the place you need to go to. Terrible place to have breakfast. Had to ask for table to be cleaned. There was syrup on the walls along with cobwebs. Instead of pastries in the glass fixture there were bags of chips and candy. Juice was in a refrigerator like a 7/11 and make your own coffee. Won't be going back. read more

Just when I started losing hope, a gem in the middle of Acton to the rescue! Legends is a refreshing cafe, great friendly staff, in a sea of pizza/sub shops in the surrounding area. The menu offers breakfast, sandwiches and wraps, complete with numerous fresh baked homemade baked goods to choose from. Went with the chicken sandwich, which comes on a pretty awesome ciabatta roll. Great sandwich overall. The staff seemed more than willing to accommodate any substitutions, including my added chipotle. All sandwiches come with either fries(which I'm told is very popular), or choice of homemade chips. Who can say no to anything homemade when it is so easy to serve of the shelf product? I'm told the pastry chef originates from Boston. After tasting the croissant, It would have been more believable if you told me he hailed from Paris! For the life of me I've never been able to figure out why no croissant I've tasted in America comes even close to the true authentic Parisian experience. Is it some safe guarded recipe?! Legend Cafe is neither here nor there. It is housed in an attractive building in charming Acton. I was hopeful for a wonderful breakfast. First thing you notice is that it is part cafe and part lunch spot in a business park. (It is not in a business park, just had that feel.) First thing you see is a display of chips. Then, as you walk into the counter, one sees some nice-looking pastries. People there were lovely. I ordered the pancakes. Pancakes were served thin, had a nice consistency with little flavor. The blueberries were of the frozen variety. Syrup was "Breakfast Syrup" in a single use package with butter in similar single-use packages. With a little more thought, Legend Cafe could become a neighborhood gem. Make the ambience a little nicer. Remove the beverage cooler. Add some homey touches. Add a dollar to the pancake pricing and give us real syrup and blueberries. Use real cups for those having coffee. Until then, Legend Cafe will be a "close but no cigar" experience. read more

First of all I want to make it clear that my review is written based on a one time experience. Usually I like to give a place more than one chance before I write a good/bad review, so this review might be edited in the future. This is a small, unpretentious cafe, not a lot of effort on decoration was made inside/outside the building. The staff seemed friendly enough, they have some outside tables that, in a sunny day, could be a pleasant way to spend your lunchtime. I asked for a veggie omelette and I must say I wasn't very impressed. The omelette was hard and dried (not fluffy and moist as I think a good omelette should be), there was not a lot of veggies in the filling and it was completely unseasoned. I hope next time I visit I have a better experience to share, I'm all for supporting local businesses. read more

The baked goods in the counter look amazing, but I did not try them. I thought breakfast was mediocre. I ordered staples you could get anywhere (an omelette and homefries) and I thought, all in, it was pretty bland. Mind you, New Englanders often like bland so don't let this keep you away. Julie's in Acton was closed and we found this place on Yelp. Cute spot. A decent amount of space inside. At some of these local places, the people running it can be cranky, but everyone here was quite nice. I had the French toast with strawberries and a side of bacon. Not a huge order, but what a serving size should really be. The coffee was good. They had Coke products instead of Pepsi which I prefer. My friend had a turkey club with a side salad which they like. We both agreed that the bacon was awesome. Good amount and perfectly crispy. All of the ingredients here were as if they just bought them from the store recently. I say that in a good way. It's like having an actual home cooked meal. The tomatoes and strawberries weren't soggy as if they'd been sitting on a cook line all day. We liked this place and will come back for breakfast (all day yay) or even lunch sometime now that we have found it. read more

This was not a total miss but overall, I wouldn't come here again. One star for a clean restaurant and friendly + fast service. One more star for their ham and cheese croissant and their coffee. We went in and were told to sit anywhere. So after a few minutes we realized you have to go up to place your order, so we did. The coffee was self serve which didn't really bother me. I got the ham and cheese croissant and they served it cold, I thought they would have heated it but maybe that's not how it's served? It was delicious though! Our food came out within minutes. My breakfast sandwich was an average tasting egg, what looked like individually packaged cheese on an English muffin. It didn't taste very good. My friends meal was ok. No butter on the toast or for the toast. The "home fries" were essentially cut up boiled potatoes. I did try some of their cake. The triple chocolate was dry and not enjoyable and the chocolate mousse was alright but nothing I would make a trip back for. read more

The TV was on and loud, and that might be ok for many but it wasn't for me. The person behind the counter agreed to turn off the volume. Another star. My bacon was plentiful and that's that. The rest is not good at all. Of my 2 my sunny side eggs one was broken. My friends scrambled eggs were crumbs. Our toasts were cold and not buttered so the butter never melted. We were very disappointed on our last visit to legends. Although the tray of baked goods by the entrance looked very good we ordered the breakfast burrito off of the menu. I made it clear that I was a vegetarian and did not want any meat in the burrito. I was quite disappointed to bite into a large chunk of sausage in the burrito. I suppose I can give their pastries a shot but b'fast was none too impressive. This physical location has been home to quite a number of short-lived similar places (b'fast, lunch and baked goods). C'mon, how tough is it to, SCRAMBLE some 'scrambled eggs'? Looks like they cracked the eggs, and tried to get scramble them with a spoon. Very unhomogenized when fried. The potatoes were a complete waste of time. FRY them with some seasoning. Even salt and pepper will do. At least the ham looked like real (thin sliced) sliced ham vs. the ham 'puck' most other places serve (looking at you Julie's). So yea, $10 for 2 marginally scrambled eggs, waste of time potatoes and overtoasted toast isn't going to make me run back to this place. I was also hoping that their sandwiches were OK but we'll see if I get motivated to try them. Again, $10ish for a sandwich is more than I want to spend on any given day. Why are all the breakfast places around here so flippin mediocre? read more
