The French Toast
Lindsey D.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to Logan airport. You order at the counter and take a seat and they bring you your food. Staff was super kind and service was fast. The iced coffee was very good - I got mine with cream and mocha and my partner got his black we both enjoyed very much. Food portions were generous and tasted good! I enjoyed my chocolate chip pancake and my friend liked the french toast with fresh strawberries. Partner got a croissant from the pastry display case he liked too. Interior is cute and clean. When you're done eating you just bring your plates to a bin. Thanks for having us!

Legend Breakfast, sausage and wheat toast! So so so good!

My husband and I were traveling through Acton on our way to Boston and to Portland, ME. While staying in Boxborough, we searched for breakfast places and decided to give this place a try. So glad we did. We are extremely happy with everything. The food is beyond delicious, and the service is also so amazing! They made us feel so welcome. Food comes out at a decent time - not too fast and not long. So worth it! The first time we each got the Legend breakfast (3 eggs), and the second day we got the Light Legend breakfast (2 eggs). I got mine with scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries and whole wheat toast. My husband got the same but with bacon. We also got coffee and an orange juice (Tropicana in a bottle). Free refills for coffee - can get it in a mug and/or in a to-go cup. They had various selections for coffee - decaf, French Roast, Colombian, Pumpkin Spice, and another which I can't remember. My favorite was the Colombian. We didn't order them because our food was pretty hefty, but others in there ordered the colossal buttermilk pancakes (3), and they seemed to be enjoying them. They looked good too. You can get plain or add fruit and stuff to them (i.e. blueberry, strawberry, banana, chocolate chips). I also noticed a lot of locals here. And a lot of people would come in for their baked goods. They also serve lunch. Order at the counter and then take a seat. They will bring your food to your table. And when you're finished, just take your tray and plates etc to the disposal bins. If you're in the area or surrounding areas, this is the place you need to go to. Thank you, Legend Cafe, for existing!

"Well, I don't need a doctor I don't need a nurse Anything…read moreyou give me babe will only make me worse I need rock therapy" (Stray Cats) You know a chocolate business is serious about their products when they name that business "Chocolate Therapy". Since 2011, they've created hand-made artisanal truffles, bark, and wrapped chocolates just twenty miles west of Boston. We saw them being promoted on a television news show, and since we both have a weakness for chocolate, decided to give their "Trio Nut Bark" a go. It came in a pretty boxed gift set with three different chocolate barks in generously portioned 3" X 3" squares. There were four squares of each of the three flavors for a total of twelve yummy squares. Here are the over-the-top descriptions from their website: 1) Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark sprinkled with delicate French grey sea salt 2) Creamy White Chocolate Bark with the satisfying crunch of green hued slightly sweet pistachios 3) Smooth Milk Chocolate Bark with the delightful crunch of roasted buttery Cashews So how did our $24.50 + shipping chocolates taste? The Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark was top notch. Excellent dark chocolate flavor, plenty of big almond pieces, and that light touch of sea salt really finished it off. The Creamy White Chocolate Bark was excellent, and I was impressed by the large amount of full-sized pistachio nuts in the square. The Milk Chocolate Bark was fantastic -smooth, creamy, and sweet with plenty of crushed cashews to boost up the taste and add to the texture. They were all so good, I really can't say I had a favorite. In summary, their chocolates are magnificent. BTW, their website advertises a very cool experience for ten or more - a Virtual Chocolate Tasting, with chocolate kits for your guests, a lesson on how chocolate is made, and chocolate tastings along each step of the process.

Saltbox catered our wedding in rural Vermont a few weeks ago, and my husband and I (as well as our…read moreguests) couldn't be happier! My husband and I are both vegetarian and good food obsessed, so when we first started planning our wedding, we knew good food was a top priority. It was important to us to have a vegetarian wedding that was delicious and vegetable-focused (and not just boring pastas or tofu steaks). We also knew that lots of our guests were meat-eaters and we wanted to make sure everyone walked away excited about the food. Well, Saltbox completely pulled it off. They worked patiently with us at every step. We gave them the adjective "Ottolenghi-esque" at the beginning and a few other notes about our taste, and they ran with it from there, delivering a draft menu that was amazing and then revising it according to our feedback. Throughout, they were easy to work with and extremely professional, and they pulled off of the details on the day beautifully, with everyone leaving happily stuffed and thrilled. (They even accommodated our gluten-free and dairy-free guests with delicious alternatives.) The waitstaff was also fantastic and helped ensure that my husband and I got enough to eat amidst all the busy-ness and dancing. Now, just a few weeks later, we are constantly hearing from friends and family about how great the food was (the best they've ever had by some accounts), asking for Saltbox's name, and remarking about how they completely forgot that they were eating vegetarian for the night because every dish was so delicious. I have been to lots of weddings and frankly, most of the food is not memorable. Saltbox's food absolutely was.

I'm not drinking alcohol because I'm nursing my child, but the alcoholic drinks looked delicious. Since they had teas and nonalcoholic beverages - even asterisked to show which ones had caffeine - I was happy to order something, and I opted for their hot chocolate, the "Third Eye." I saw ingredients like cinnamon, cardamom, and coconut, and I was sold. Were there ingredients I didn't recognize? Yes. Did it say "medicinal hot chocolate"? Yes. Did I think anything of it? No. To me, ALL hot chocolates are medicinal. We all had our drinks and moved on to the next location. As we were walking, I felt...off, almost like I was drunk. By the time we sat down at the new spot, I said, "I feel like my head is expanding," like it was being pumped full of helium. "It's your third eye opening," someone said, I thought jokingly. "Ohhhhh yeah," said my birthday friend. "I forgot that when I went to the evergreen room when my wife was pregnant, there were a bunch of drinks they said she couldn't have because she was pregnant." So I began googling the ingredients I didn't recognize and noticed that all of them said "Avoid consuming while pregnant or nursing." Therefore, the bad: if there are ingredients that people don't know offhand are bad to consume while pregnant or nursing, they need to be indicated on the menu. If they can asterisk drinks with caffeine, they can denote this as well. I would not have ordered the hot chocolate had I known. I wasn't aware of the "hippy dippy" nature of this place, as the locals were, so it didn't even occur to me to ask. If they fix that one thing in the menu, I'd give them five stars!
