My husband surprised us with the donuts from Mister Monut during our road trip. Wow! I'm not a donut fan. But the donuts from Mister Monut are absolutely delicious The donuts look adorable and they are not super sweet. Everyone in my family loved the donuts.

I was super excited when I discovered a mochi donut (and croffles!) bakery was opening up in Waltham. I've been long awaiting the opening of Mister Monut since I found out in November that they were going to have a mochi donut place in Waltham. They recently opened and everything is so tasty; I've already been back there twice! Each time I visited, tons of people came to get a monut or croffle. In terms of croffles, I've had their mango cream croffle, strawberry cream croffle and the taro coconut croffle. So far, I've had almost every mochi donut so far (black sesame, taro + coconut, matcha + pistachio, strawberry + pretzel, cookies 'n cream). The mochi donuts all have been so soft, fluffy, and so clearly freshly made. I also LOVE the cream croffles, the cream is perfect for me, not too sweet yet light and airy while the croffle isn't too dense either. So far, my favorites are the black sesame and taro + coconut mochi donuts and the mango cream croffle. Definitely recommend giving these ones a try! The food comes in really cute packaging; the boxes have the mister monut logo monogrammed onto the side of the box with an adorable little sleeve that covers the box. I follow them on IG and they tend to sell out several hours before the end of the day! If you decide to come to try this place out, I definitely recommend being here early and getting multiple items to try. This is such an awesome addition to the Waltham area and definitely recommend coming here. They're closed on Monday and Tuesdays, so make sure you don't stop by on those days. Overall, I'm super excited to try the rest of the flavors they offer in the (near) future!

Mochinuts are starting to pop up in more places, but usually closer to the big city. I'm so glad Mister Monut opened in Waltham, as its so much more convenient to get to. The place looks very clean. You can see the workers preparing the food in the back. Up front, you get friendly service and the staff are happy to help you pick out what is popular, and tell you what is what. This place closes on Mon & Tues, so beware of that. Outside of that, I'd highly recommend that you check them out. Go early for best selection. We've been there a few times and its always fresh and always busy. Their main items are mochinuts (donuts and mochi mix) and kroffles (croissant and waffle hybrid). The krouffle is sugary sweet with a hint of crispiness. The mochinut is a slightly chewy donut in a fun shape. There are many flavors and some have toppings (see my photos). I've included a receipt from one of my visits so you can get an idea of costs. In the beginning they offered really fancy boxes, but now they offer something thats likely more economical...but still nice and presentable.

I don't think this place is as good as Mochinut. Their mochi donuts only use half the icing, yet they are still somehow way too sweet. The icing easily shatters off the donut when you try to divide it to share. I was feeling a little overwhelmed at the sugar level. The taro donut didn't really taste enough like taro for me. Overall, it's pretty decent but doesn't stand out.

Matcha, everything, cinnamon sugar, dreamsicle, s'mores monuts

Excellent flavors, friendly and quick service, and beautiful interior with side tables and plants! Having tried the monut for the first time, I was blown away by how nicely chewy the texture was compared to normal donuts! The glutinous rice flour of the Mochi aspect really elevates the monut, and I think it is better to eat than a regular donut. Not to mention, the flavors are more unique than what you would find in a regular donut shop, like matcha and dreamsicle. The kroffle had the deliciousness of a croissant with the desirable crunch of a waffle. The cream is light and fluffy, which pairs well with strawberries. Truly a blend of different textures that keeps you eating! The food and inside are also very aesthetic! The employees were excellent to converse with, and I really appreciate having this kind of shop in Waltham! 10/10

1/2 dozen & mixed fruit croffle

A great place to grab sweet desserts including mochi donuts and croffles. I came on a weekend afternoon with samples of croffles to try and plenty of donut options. I would have loved to try them all, but we settled on getting half a dozen mochi donuts and a mixed fruit croffle. For mochinuts we got fruity pebbles, strawberry, cookies and cream, chocolate, smores, and peanut butter. These mochinuts are made fresh and last quite well without getting too hard. There is a very thick layer of frosting on these which is excellent compared to other mochinut places. The winner of the desserts is definitely the croffle. It has a firm, yet soft texture, and the cream and mixed fruit reminded me of the Chinese sponge cakes. The service was quick and the packaging is in a nice sturdy box. Overall, a great addition to Waltham so definitely check it out if you're in the area.

All I can say is "wow" I had never had mochi donuts before, or a Croffle. I didn't even know those two things existed. I ordered too many items. Ate too much. And had exactly ZERO regrets. Tried the sugar cinnamon mochi donut. It's light. It's slightly chewy. It was so good I ate 3. Next I tried a croffle that had just come out of the over. It had cheese. It had bacon. It had fresh freakin' jalapeños. It was sweet, savory and spicy all at once. If I hadn't had the 3 donuts, I would have had a second. Lastly, I tried the oreo croffle because who can say no to oreos. The cream was amazing. The dough was amazing. I think I have a new favorite donut place!

Glad we stopped by this place! The person that I assume is the owner was super friendly when we couldn't decide which flavor to get. They had some samples to try at the counter which convinced us to get a donut in addition to a croffle. The croffle has a good balance of sweetness to it. There's no seating inside so it is a take out spot.

So delicious! The fruity pebbles was my favorite but they're all so cute and so good.

Mister Monut is a HIDDEN GEM! I'm so glad that we got the chance to try it. These mochi donuts are better than ANY mochi donuts I've had at Mochinut-these ones were ACTUALLY SOFT and had such a wonderful pillowy texture. None of the flavors were too sweet which I thoroughly enjoyed. My favorites were the croissant waffles! The cream was so fresh and delish. Even after a 30 minute car ride home, nothing melted!! I would highly recommend to try this place out. Don't forget their new addition of Fried Chicken to their menus! This place is a one stop shop for grab and go treats.

Delicious Mochi donuts! Service is great and reasonably priced. I would recommend! We prefer this over Mochinut!

Chandeliers that have to harken back to much older tenants in this space. The food is good, I had a ham egg and cheese on croissant and it was wonderful. The croissant was surprisingly fresh. The cappuccino was rounded and smooth and didn't taste at all burnt. Service was ok. Polite but not engaging, my cappuccino was forgotten entirely and I had to ask for it again but it was then made promptly. Regulars that came in behind me had a completely different experience. Service was bright and engaging for them. Again, there was nothing BAD about my service, it was just milquetoast and the baristas seemed disinterested. This is definitely a place where people come and linger and there were folks sprawled about the sofas and typing away at the tables. If I lived in Waltham, I's probably make it a staple in my routine. But I did not linger long, I ate my sandwich, sipped half my coffee and took the rest on my way. I have a feeling this is the kind of place that just grows on you overtime, that said, if you need a coffee or tea and a snack on your way, this may be worth a stop.
