If it wasn't for the fantastic comedian Charlie Berens giving shout-outs to Legend Larry's, I would never have tasted some of the greatest chicken wings of my life. Anytime I am traveling up to Door County, I have to make a pit stop at *this* particular location. I'm not even sure if it is the original one but it has become tradition. There is plentiful seating around the bar, high top tables, and more tables in the second room. I did stop by during covid-times and was one of the only people in the restaurant; so I definitely felt "safe." The staff were also wiping down the tables/stools of anyone that touched it and as they came in for pickup orders. The staff are very friendly and chatty, especially if you are from out of town. The wings: they aren't the largest wings you'll ever eat, but I think they are the best wings! I love how many flavors of sauce and rubs are offered and I love that you can purchase sauce to take home. My husband and I have done this and it makes for an excellent gift! Also, the wings are very meaty. The Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers and Fried Mozzarella are A+ fantastic as well! It may take a while to get your food as they make everything fresh. So if you are eating in, be prepared to have a drink and relax prior to eating. I've ordered fries to much on while waiting and they came out within a couple minutes - good fries too! Let me tell you how this place is, I walk in with 2 others that we were trying to find the best spot to have a drink and good food. Good ambiance too, doesn't seem like I'll get mugged or hepatitis in there like some other places. We are immediately greeted, sat at the bar and had menus within the first 30 seconds and she asked if we ever been there, we haven't so she walked us through the menu, we ordered and got our drinks within 2-3 minutes and the food came out fast, tasted great and was good price. Friendly bartender and staff as well. That was 2 years ago and I go a minimum once a month almost every weekend. Food, smacks. Drinks, smacks. Service, smacks. There's nothing worse than having to keep going up to staff to get your order of drinks and getting forgotten about. I can't even get through half my drink without a check up on me to make sure we are doing good. 10/10 will always be back. read more

Atmosphere: Divey little bar; note this is a BAR. Yes they have tables in the back but I HATE when parents bring their kids in here and give me the evil glare when I drop an F bomb. IT.IS.A.BAR. This is where people drink to "solve" their problems and eat wings, okay? OKAY. Service: This place is run by dudes, so it is not always the cleanest. The bathrooms are a little sketchy, but the tables are always wiped down at least. They usually are understaffed. Food: I will admit, it is good, but I have not ate here in over 6 months due to an unfortunate experience I witnessed. The wings are good, well done, tasty choice of flavors, but that's it, not very female friendly either, went there with my brother and they had ALL the tvs set to female wrestling or MMA, whatever, not interested. I'm no fuddy duddy either, I'm 53 and probably been to Hooters down south over a 100 times, no problemo. Good for felllas for a slow lunch. Took over 30 minutes to get a dozen; single flavor of wings and they were all but empty. So not to dissuade you from going here, the wings ARE good, somewhat slow service and kinda pricey for wings too. Never have gotten used to the idea of paying a premium for bones with a touch of meat- chicken wings when you can get a beautiful chicken breast for cheaper! Just sayin... Oh, and you have to pay extra for any blue cheese or ranch dressing as well as if you want the classic carrots and celery. Didn't care for that either..... and it's quite a dark atmosphere, considering we were there for lunch. This bar was way more than we'd expected. We pulled in to Mantiowoc very late at night, and had a hard time finding places that were open. Alcohol was great, but the sauces were to die for. Over 10 flavors, perfectly cooked wings, and the coolest bartender around. Robert was the chef, bartender, and our entertainer of the night. He was full of fun facts, jokes, and advice on drinks. Last time I ever go to Legend Larry's. I decided to give Legend Larry's another shot and started to order from them again and boy did I ever make a mistake! About a month ago, I ordered Legend Larry's and was on the phone asking about what sauces would be best to mix together and took up about 5 minutes of their time on the phone! After 30 minutes, I arrived to pick up the wings and while I was waiting by the bar, the cook came out and asked me if I was the assh**e that called about mixing sauces! I was in shock and couldn't believe it! He basically got right in my face like confronting me and 2 girls had to tell him to get back in the kitchen! The girls at the bar told me not to worry and when I got home, I decided to write them on FB. I have never been treated that way ever at any business establishment. The cook should have been fired and if Mcdonald's wouldn't allow behavior like that, then why should Legend Larry's! I know it is a bar, but no other business on the planet would allow that type of behavior to its customers! It is basically verbally attacking a customer for no reason! They totally lost my business and I hope this post really gives people an idea of what they allow and how they treat their paying customers! My boyfriend and I came here tonight at about 7:00pm. There were two girls at the bar and one guy. Chris and I sat at a table, while the bartender was too busy talking to the ladies to pay attention to his table that had just seated. We had to go to the bar for EVERYTHING. To ask for drinks, to order food, to ask for our bill. I set a timer that reached almost 10 minutes before we were offered another drink (with four people at the bar and the bartender talking to one guy the whole time) and we were never offered a third drink, or boxes. When we did ask for our bill (after making eye contact with the bartender for about 20 seconds while he paced the bar) the bartender slapped our bill on the bar for us to come BACK UP to grab AND slapped it back down on the bar for us to sign. The food was good, but that bartender deserved to get the one cent tip that he got. It is now 9:15, we are just leaving. We had food and two beers. . Never recommend. Legend Larry's is a named Legend Larry's for a reason... the wings were awesome! Ordered a dozen and ended eating only about 6 wings! The flavor was Original hot and was it hot. My cousin came and cleaned it up for me...lol The beer tap was decent. We drank about 4 glasses and stayed for 3 hours. Had a funny bartender who joked the entire time we where there. Was in Manitowoc for work and a family member recommended Legend Larry's, saying that they had some pretty great chicken wings. I decided to take my team to dinner with the recommendation and we were not disappointed. The bar is a bit smaller than I imagined and not a lot of tables for groups. They don't have solid menu's but rather a notepad that you check what you want and your waiter comes and collects them. The one negative thing I will say is that the food took longer than usual and the waiter messed up our order (however, he did end up letting us keep the wrong order to eat for free!) The one thing I hope you takeaway from my review is that the wings were AWESOME! They had different flavors that I have never tried before (Mango Carribean) and also had classic favorites (Honey BBQ) so there was a nice selection. The wings were fresh and fell off the bone and the sauces were a perfect mix of sweet & spicy. I would recommend ordering take-out rather than dining in (if you aren't drinking) but can't wait to have some again soon! read more

I moved out of the state and whenever I'm back in the area I stop at Legend Larry's. I love the wings even though they can be messy eating they are so worth it. My favorite is the honey barbecue. If I'm eating boneless I love the Caribbean mango. As for sides, I love the cheese curds and broccoli bites. This place is always busy so you'd order may take awhile. There are plenty tvs, lots of beer on draft, and a kick ass juke box. I have tried to eat here three times. I am not a spicy wing fans, but friends wanted to go. So I got the boneless honey mustard wings, pretty much McDonalds chicken nuggets with sauce drizzled on them and the honey mustard was not the best. No menu, so you guess. 45 minutes into the mission after turning in our order to the one and only bartender, we still had no food. Asked bartender what's up, said it would be another 5 minutes. After that I said I would pay for our drinks, but 50 minutes was too long too wait in a bar. Was told that the kitchen was slammed so things were slow. Slammed? There were 10 people in the place, 4 of which at the bar had red baskets of food. If you expect to be busy, have more than one cook and a bartender in the joint.
