I stumbled across this place driving around for work. Seeing the name Legendary Doughnuts made me think they better be good because that is a large name to live up too. Anyways they had a great selection of unique donuts and I could not decide. First off the prices are pretty decent for a boutique donut shop with there specialty donuts around the $1.75 range. Which is very good compared to Frost, Top Pot and Krispy Kreme. I bought 3 donuts the Bacon maple bar, fruity pebbles and a chocolate and rum flavored one. I did not order any cake style and these were all raised. All 3 were very good and were a great size portion. The Maple bacon could of used a little more bacon or even strips. The rum chocolate was really good and rich. I will be back again and they even have a donut idea submission box. So I might make a list to submit. read more

Had a Groupon for a dozen doughnuts, so we checked it out. It was really hard to choose which four from each category we'd get with our Groupon, but overall I was happy with the choices (a slight downside to the Groupon or mix & match dozen though - I didn't necessarily want four donuts from one the categories and missed out on trying a few from more expensive categories). The cake donuts were heavy, but not dry and definitely had a lot of flavor. The standard glazed donuts were delicious and the many, many unique flavors of "fancy" donuts they had all looked incredible and the ones that we got were delicious as well. Coming from Cali, it was VERY hard to find ANY donut shop here! Oh my goodness! It was crazy and in search for a donut shop I found Sunnyside in Fife, which is a small mom and pop shop, little greasy for my liking but pretty descent donut so I turned to Yelp to see what else was out there and I found Legendary Doughnuts. I just picked up 1/2 dozen for our family and it was good doughnuts; sometimes, it is all about the 'dressing' but the base of the doughnut is solid and tasty. I enjoy donuts enough to come back but I find myself watching my sugar intake in random intervals of my life so I wont be a regular anytime soon. They have variety on their side but being a picky eater it was easy to narrow down what'd I eat (no bacon donuts for me) and what I wouldn't. I may have been in a lame mood and got classic donuts when I went but from what I remember they were really good. I'd got some donuts from there and went to the nearby Starbucks. I love this place, Last time I was here They did not have much of a selection I hope that is just a rare occurrence as it takes quite awhile to drive up there. My favorite is The Salted Caramel Pretzel and it's amazing. For you dog owners, they have made TWO Sheltie doughnut cakes that I know of, one for our Sheltie Meetup party and one I ordered after seeing that first one - Both of them were awesome - Two different color dogs done just right, one a pretty tri color, and mine was a beautiful sable. The customer service is amazing, and the doughnut cakes are inexpensive enough to splurge on for special events and look like a hero that spent a lot of money, lol. I did not get to taste mine (sad), it was a gift, but it smelled *wonderful*, was ready on time the day I asked for it (9 am), and they even came outside to take photos of my dog to get it just right : ) The Dr. office complex I gave the cake to all ooohhhed and ahhhed over it, and I wish I had my camera, it was so funny seeing a lot of people with their phones extended over it the same time, jockeying for position to take photos, lol. There is only so much you can truly do with icing, so don't expect a $300 portrait, but general icing colors (2 shades of light brown on mine) worked great, and very cute expressions were the key to a fun cake : ) and I was very very happy with the doughnut cake they designed for me. read more

I recently visited legendary donuts this morning. Took my ESA certified dog with me. Currently in service animal training. As soon as I entered I was told I wasn't aloud in store. No questions ask. Just told. Not sure how the employee knew anything without asking. It was rude and embarrassing. I would hope that employees would get some sort of service animal training. It's absolutely against the law to deny services while with my dog. Very sad read more

Legendary is true, but not in a good way. We both got pretty ill after sampling a couple of Legendary donuts, first from the maple bacon "Oprah" bar, then from the donut that's stuffed with cheese and "ham" - ham looked more like, well, bacon. When I say ill I don't mean bloated from too much sugar and carbs, but ill as in stomach cramping and hurting, need some OTC drugs to counteract the pain. Never going back here, nor to any other Legendary Donut shops in the future. Which is really too bad as we dropped $14 for half a dozen donuts, and ended up throwing away 4 of them. On the positive side, it was a fun experience going here. We got the recommendation from a guy a local at the dog park, though he recommended Happy Donuts as well. Maybe stop in for a coffee to see what expensive, glamor'd up donuts look like. The selection looked fun and the owners probably had a great time coming up with the names and combinations. I though getting donuts here on a Saturday mid-morning would have been safe enough, with plenty of people and families here, so that the donuts would be fresh. Too bad. Take this as a constructive criticism. This is sub-par imitation of an original. I would not have even gone to this place, except my sister raved about it. I guess if you have never seen these types of donuts before, you would think it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. But in reality, all they do is take the good idea's of other and make a mediocre imitation. Went in bought a glazed dounut and a milk. charge was 4.48 I paid it. left went home was checking my account and I was charged on my account 5.38 cents. I was upset. I didn't authorize the additional amount nor was I told about it. I know its only 90 cents but its the principle of the who thing. if they are going to add charges to your account after you leave then that is illegal. I have tried to contact the store about this and I am waiting for a response. I am not happy about this and will press on on this. I don't know if anyone pays attention to there accounts after they go there but if I were you I would. Some one is scamming the customers. read more

Had a very unpleasant visit today because of employee Leslie. We are traveling in town from Arizona and have been looking forward to going to Legendary. Leslie did not greet us and seemed very annoyed with our party. There were 4 of us and I did ask a couple questions and she never broke a smile. I told her I wanted a certain type of donut a couple times and she ignored me and then someone else came and took the rest of that type of donut. I asked if there were more and she said they were out for the day. I think that her attitude could have been much different and she maybe could have told me that there's a bigger version of that same one and offered me that. Came in today at around 4pm and was really excited to get some doughnuts! I usually order the fruity pebbles and fruit loops doughnuts which are usually made fresh when ordered since they are "special items" on the menu. Today I came in and asked for both of them and the guy said they were out. I really believe that he was just being lazy and didn't want to make them. Everything I asked for (that wasn't in the casing) were "out" so he says. Why don't u just stop lying and being lazy because I didn't believe a single word you said. Legendary Doughnuts...aren't as legendary as I'd like them to be. I do admit they have AWESOME flavors. I swooped up the BUGS BUNNY DONUT, which was made of carrot cake. It was essentially carrot cake, deep fried in a donut shape and then smothered with cream cheese frosting. Adventurous? Yes. Sweet? Overly. Good? Mm.... I was itching for about three glasses of milk while eating it. And I can't even drink milk.... The bread was also, a little stale? I don't know how to explain it. I've have fresher tasting bread on donuts at Safeway before. Not sure if this was just on THIS particular day that the donut breading was this way but it kind of wasn't doing it for me. I'm more than willing to go back and pick up a box just to take a bite out of each one and see if it's the same.... maybe on the next time around LD, but for now... three stars it is. read more

Like most of these places, pricing is almost impossible to figure out, though this place does a better job than most. The employees are pretty helpful at getting things figured out and patient with selection. The doughnuts themselves are just okay. Huge. I walked in there and was not greeted but rather glared at. I wish I caught her name tho. Anyway, after telling the girl which doughnut I wanted, and ringing it up at the cash register I was still left with an attitude. I routinely shop at the Top Foods and had my eye on this newcomer for several weeks. Initially, the Grand Opening crowds kept me away and then my own self discipline kept me at bay (trying to lose weight). But the stars aligned and in a moment of weakness; or was it divine inspiration, I stopped by for a visit. The selection was extensive and it took me quite a bit of thinking to settle on my treat...I should amend that to say "treats". It was impossible to choose just one. I chose the "Oprah", which was a bacon topped maple bar. I've heard of this being a popular flavor combination, yet this was my first opportunity to try it. The donut itself possessed the perfect texture of fluffy and slightly chewy; it was dense enough to be filling, but not so heavy that it sat in the bottom of your stomach like a led weight. Maple topping (which is something I only discovered after relocating here from Chicago) was very typical, but not particularly outstanding. The bacon was crispy and tasty and with all elements combined, I have to give this donut a top shelf rating. My second selection was a blueberry cheesecake donut and this was particularly inspired! This was a moist, delicious cake donut, studded with delightful blueberries. In and of itself, this donut was perhaps the most perfect blueberry donut I've ever had; but the "cheesecake" center sends this rounded delight into the stratosphere! The cheesecake filling was similar to a cream cheese frosting, but not terribly dense or over thought. Texturally, it was smoother and slightly looser than what you would find atop a red velvet cake, it played perfectly against the sweetness of the donut and I considered asking for a vat of it to take home! Price was extremely low, considering the quality of the product. There's no need to visit the Top Foods Bakery for your donut needs. For a few pennies more (on the specialty donuts) you can have a divine substitute at Legendary Donuts. Service was fast and friendly and I timed my visit perfectly, as the small storefront wasn't packed with people. I look forward to sampling more of the menu, as my caloric needs allow!! A downfall is that for donuts, it's sorta spendy. read more

I had high hopes for this doughnut place but was pretty disappointed. The dough was heavy and the flavor not good on the doughnuts I tasted. The store is sparse and was freezing cold for the duration of our time there. Definitely not a place I would return to and sit to enjoy a doughnut! I would have preferred to order a box of Krispy Kremes and enjoyed warm doughnuts in my warm house as opposed to this place. On the plus side, you can tell they have put time into being creative with their options. Perhaps some of their other choices are better, so if coerced into going again I would hold out hope their other options are better. Best.Doughnuts.In.Washington. I am very lucky to live within walking distance of this place, but if you ever get a serious doughnut craving, it's worth the drive even if you live in Seattle or Tacoma. The doughnuts look gorgeous and taste amazing, and clearly a lot of thought and skill goes into creating and perfecting them. This little boutique of a doughnut shop (which even has chandeliers for lighting) doesn't have much in the way of seating but is charming in a girlie sort of way. The doughnuts have an amazing variety of frostings and fillings, and are all delicious. If you want a beverage with your doughnut, I highly recommend their gourmet hot chocolate, which is pretty much the best we've ever had (you should really try some). They have a monthly contest where you describe a new doughnut, and the shop will make the best recipe, so there are always new things to try. read more

My god this place is a doughnut haven! Love this place you will NOT find any other place with more unique doughnuts. I live close by and often catch my self smelling the mouth watering exotic smells coming from their building.... which lures me inside of course more times than not.... Always greeted with a friendly face and smiling workers. Place is always kept clean, very family friendly and everyone seems to know there roll as a team, don't have anything bad to say about this place other than why don't you have doughnut punch cards ?!?!
