I was looking for a new place to do my work with a drink and snack. I don't usually go into bakeries but I thought I'd try it. I'm so glad I did because I've been back and tried more delicious baked goods. First off this place is cute and I just want to have a tea party with my besties here. Second everyone is so nice and helpful. Third, everything I've tried has been amazing! I had a gluten free key lime pie bar and it was incredible. Usually you can tell something is gluten free, but not this. The cupcakes are not all looks. They taste wonderful and are not overwhelmed with cloyingly sweet frosting. They have a great balance. I brought gluten free treats home for my baby and she was so excited and impressed too. Their coffee and non caffeinated drinks are made well and refreshing. Sweet Themes Bakery is such a darling little spot in the Kent/Auburn area. The shop is cozy, the staff are warm and welcoming, and everything I tried was delicious. I had a raspberry mazurka bar, a pistachio rose cupcake, and a craquelin pastry filled with buttercream and jam, and enjoyed it with a lovely pot of tea. They also offer afternoon tea and private events, which makes this place extra special. Highly recommend for beautiful treats and a genuinely friendly atmosphere. read more

We had the best themed tea yesterday, complete with an introductory NA cocktail, tea for each person in our party and an absolutely divine spread of savories, scones and sweets all set to the theme of: Devil Wears Prada! I mean, seriously read the menu photo as every bite was so ON POINT in detail and flavors! The service and seating were fabulous too. We were tempted to order some baked goods to go (I always love their sugar cookies though they also had a Boston Cream cannoli-ish item that stopped us in our tracks to ogle the case shelves before we sat down!) but alas we were so full from the tea service that we departed with a few leftover dessert treats to extend the moment at home. I've been taking my toddler to this bakery almost every Saturday due to it's vicinity to the library and the space park. My son is super excited about visiting the bakery. The owner is super friendly. My friends, boyfriend and I were at the Kent Nerd Party and as we were walking around, a kind lady who worked at Sweet Themes Bakery kindly let us know that they had 50% off their bakery section. So you know we went in to see what goodies they had! Luckily, they had quite the selection and even a small menu to cater to nerds by having a drink called a magic potion which is what sounds to be an Italian soda with shimmer. They also had other baked goodies around the check out counter from a graduation cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, and much more! I appreciate that they had labels making it easy to know what is what. My friends grabbed their baked goods while my boyfriend and I got a cupcake, pineapple cake bar, cream puff and some cookies. The employees here are very polite and professional. I ordered cupcakes for my adult daughter's birthday. They accepted the order and baked the cupcakes in just a few days-- STELLAR SERVICE! Although I had hoped for minis, they were unable to make the mini-cupcakes in time, so I got the regular size cupcakes. My daughter said they are the BEST carrot cake that she has ever eaten! Not too sweet, even the cream cheese frosting was delicious and not too sweet I requested green leaf decorations which Sweet Themes did in buttercream with tiny, contrasting green flowers-- they were BEAUTIFUL! My niece had a very small wedding at the courthouse and I wanted her and her new husband to have a small wedding cake to take with them on their honeymoon immediately following the ceremony. I'm so happy I was able to order this cake online with two weeks notice. I flew in from California and picked up the cake just 30 minutes before the ceremony. i've been coming to sweet themes since before Terri took ownership. the quality and variety at this bakery is something kent is truly blessed to have nestled downtown!! i dream about the pistachio butterscotch cookie - and the pistachio tiramisu. the flavors are inventive and innovative (both!) and the kindness of the employees is proverbial icing on the cake. today i got lemon tiramisu and a buttercream iced sugar cookie! i've never had an experience here where i've been disappointed in what i got, and based on how terri shows up - i wouldn't doubt her willingness to resolve any issue immediately. i'd say ignore the negative nellies and give this place a try for yourself. i'm certain you won't be sorry! read more

Love supporting small businesses in the area and tried the TGTG app to try this bakery luckily I got the spot in TGTG. First time in this small bakery licated in downtown Kent , love the food, service and ambiance. When I pick up my TGTG box, it was very great deal they gave variety of everything, cookies,cupcake and blueberry cheesecake . The new owner, Terri Ameri, has an.. interesting.. approach to resolving customer complaints. She is the type of business owner who believes she can do no wrong and rather than try to make something right, she'd prefer to tell you why you're wrong all while charging large fees for custom cakes that aren't what you ordered. It's one thing to accept that you made a subpar cake that's wasn't to customer specification, but it's another to be dismissive and rude about it. Our cake was not made to specification. The sponge was dry and hard, like stale bread. The "icing" was mostly just whipped butter and tasted like just butter, the fudge filling was not moist and delicious.. it was as hard and dry as the white "stabilizing cream" between each layer of what was supposed to be an all chocolate cake. It was stale bread with a layer of whipped butter on top. What was worse was her inability to apologize for her or her team making an inedible "cake", and instead her insistence on why we were wrong for not appreciating her masterpiece. Save yourself the trouble and money and order your custom cakes elsewhere. read more

I just got a mini hot cocoa cheesecake from Sweet Themes Bakery, and I have to say it's hands-down one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Cheesecake is my go-to special treat, and I've tried everything from incredible to truly awful. This one had the perfect balance of creaminess, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet, so you could actually taste the different flavors mixed in. The only reason it's not my absolute top favorite is the crust -- it was a bit more like a pie crust, and I personally prefer a thicker graham cracker crust but I am already excited about going back to try some other flavors. read more

Ordered a cake for family birthday. Chocol cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate butter cream. The cake was dry and crumbly, and no taste of chocolate. They forgot the filling. The butter cream tasted like plain butter, and over applied. It tasted like stale bread and butter. I payed extra for decorations, which were super simplistic. They did deliver it without a fee, but given that I paid 100 dollars for a cake we threw in the garbage- its just not enough. read more

This place is a 10/10 for aesthetics, both of the space and their products. I'd definitely come here to pick up desserts to bring somewhere based on looks. I wish they were open just slightly later, because it's nearly impossible to get here before their 5pm closing if you work normal hours. I loved their peanut butter cup stuffed cookie! It's fabulously decadent and very satisfying to any chocolate peanut butter craving. The cherry coconut almond bar is also rich, but covered in an unnecessary and dry frosting. I wasn't impressed by their carrot cake cupcake, either. It's typically a favorite cake of mine, and the cream cheese frosting was great, but the cake was very dense, lacking fresh flavors or textures. It was atypical- a dry spice cake with a few carrot shavings. I'll stick to the cookies if I ever swing by again. They have a loyalty card, punched per $5 spent. Sometimes if they're feeling sweet they'll punch per item, but if you just pop in for a single cookie, your purchase sadly won't count. Better get a second cookie for later, or skip the card so you don't tempt yourself. At least service is always good. read more

I hate that it took me forever to write this review. I had actually waited to get a good pic to add to this review. I cannot even explain how Amazing this place is. The communication between myself and the owner as well as the young ladies working there was beyond impressive. Now for the cake itself! I mean a year later and we're still talking about how tasty, moist and delicious it was. We had the red velvet and lemon flavors for the wedding and it was definitely a hit with all the guests especially the picky ones. Definitely will recommend this place for any bakery needs. I wish I had more pics because they definitely hit it out of the park!!! I can't say enough how great this shop is. The price too for the cake and cakes we ordered you cannot beat! I really REALLY liked this bakery. I almost forgot about it wow! And I can totally wait to go back because now I know that they have what I want! I stopped by looking for a slice of cake. Idk why but grocery store cakes just don't do it for me. I'd rather pay extra and get a good quality slice of cake. When I went in this day I came towards the end of the day and they didn't have any slices of cake left. I was pretty bummed out about it. I then saw the frosted cookies and immediately asked if they were soft! A lot of bakery's make frosted cookies and the cookie is hard and sometimes the frosting is hard too lol. The man told me that they were soft so I ordered that. I bought a cupcake as well because it looked good and duh! Go Seahawks! So when I got home the first thing I did was break off the cookie....this was like those old school home made sugar cookies that you would make and frost yourself. Very soft and thick omg. Almost like a soft short bread cookie. And I'm sure you can imagine how dangerous that must be lol. The frost was great! Not too sweet or too thick. The cupcake was good as well. The service is excellent. You order online and go into detail about what you expect with your cake and tell them what's the occasion. My first order was a carrot cake with cream cheese filling, and all my guess were completely head over heels over it. It was so delicious! And the presentation was nothing short of perfect. My second cake, a month later was a lot more basic than the first one, still a bit, pricey, and way too sweet. For the first cake, we had people asking for more but the second cake, my guests did not finish their slice. The second cake was pink champagne with 50/50 cream cheese and the butter cream was AMBC filling, which I shouldn't have done. It was way too sweet. I would order here again for a detailed cake though since they are very artistic. Also, the way they packaged the cake was excellent! You always hear other people complain that their cakes didn't make it all the way home, but I have never had a problem. I also loved that. They call me to verify all my options to make sure that everything is just how I want it so it is great customer service, and attention to detail. read more

We had two different flavors of macarons and Russian tea cookies. The macarons were just sweet, but not flavorful especially the pistachio (no discernible pistachio flavor).
