Called ahead to understand what the shop had. When arrived, they had a full display of options with some rather large donuts. It had a steady flow for an afternoon and we were in and out quick. The negative review is due to driving home and the Apple Fritter was crunchy and overcooked... almost burnt. The glaze and fillings were minimal and not a happy experience overall, especially with their pricing. Understand this might be a franchise or mom and pop owned, but quality issues should be a priority rather than putting items out for consumers that only find out after they left. I tend to like the super sweet and more standard donut places that just taste fresh and like they're doing the basics at the top of their game. Second time I've tried Legendary Doughnuts. (First time was in Covington, Wa.) This one is located in Issaquah, Washington. It's a small shop with giant doughnuts. Went in and was greeted quickly and with a smile. It was quiet and clean. Prices for what you pick out are reasonable. Brightly lit up so you can see all the deliciousness's. Bought a dozen huge doughnuts and let's just say half a dozen or two doughnuts, would have been just fine! Each doughnut could feed at least two people. I had a 29 year work anniversary, so got 2^2+3^2+4^2 treats for work. We're dorky computer people as you can tell. The lady at the shop was so helpful and into my silly order. 4 GIANT donuts, 9 cannolis, 16 donut balls. The team just devoured these things. These things are fricken HUGE. Literally the maple bar was as big as my head. Soft, yeasty donut with a good amount of smooth maple icing. The cinnamon twists, another favorite of mine, are huge too. So I'm kind of sad I didn't get one. They have quite a few unique flavors, including multiple filled options. It was easy to get my donut as there was no line, and I chatted a bit with the girl working. I want to love this place but the donuts are super mediocre in my opinion. Like they are a bit too gimmicky and taste like a grocery store donut. Ordered their hot cocoa with a donut once and it came out at best tepid/lukewarm. Second time I brought a bunch of donuts to work and they weren't eaten by the end of the day. Service is great. Anyone with a serious sweet tooth would love this spot. See their website for the vast doughnut selection, although they don't offer all of them each day. Each doughnut is classified as either Legendary (L), Famous, or Amateur (A), which also determines their cost. We got 5 Legendary which came to $17.45 total ($3.49 each) and 1 Amateur at $2.49. If you order a Legendary Dozen, it costs about $29, decreasing the cost per piece. Most of the Legendary and Famous doughnuts appear very decadent, complete with various toppings and frostings. As you can guess, the Amateur ones are your basic options, like maple bars, powdered sugar and old fashioned. The shop was pretty busy around 11:00A on a Saturday, but a friendly employee efficiently moved the line along pretty quickly. We picked up a few doughnuts for my grandmother's birthday and cut them up so we could all try a bit of each. + RASPBERRY PILLOW (L): A glazed square "pillow" came stuffed with the most raspberry jelly I've ever seen. When we cut it in half, I was shocked to see a majority of the interior was jelly rather than the doughnut itself. I only had a quarter of this and a whole one would have been sugar overload. + TIGER TAIL (L): If you want a less sweet option, I recommend this glazed cinnamon twist. The doughnut itself is huge and easily two servings. It had a mild cinnamon flavor swirled throughout. + CONAN THE BAVARIAN (L): Between the thick custard filling and rich chocolate icing, this is a very indulgent doughnut. It was delicious, but very sweet. + DOUGHSANT (L): This is Legendary's version of a cronut, or a doughnut and croissant hybrid. It's airy and flaky like a croissant, and glazed like a doughnut. This is a great lighter option. + PUMPKIN BRULEE (L): A round raised doughnut topped with a pumpkin spice and brown sugar bourbon cream. Sugar is sprinkled on top so they can also torch it if you wish. I found this one just okay... rather than having a pumpkin flavor, it was more like a very sweet brown sugar cinnamon. + MAPLE BAR (A): Except for the size, this was your typical soft and scrumptious maple bar. It can be shared easily since it is massive! Notes: * Interestingly, they charge an extra 3% for using a credit card, however they also have a sign stating they are cashless, so I can imagine many customers end up incurring this fee. * The employee packed our doughnuts in a square box with three of them on top of the others. It would have been better if they used a larger box so that all the doughnuts could lay flat rather than half of them getting smashed. read more

I love donuts and try them at every new town, this place has good reviews so I was expecting amazing donuts.Staff was super nice. The donuts look amazing and they have a good variety. We tried the old fashioned( my all time favorite) it was ok. Not much flavor. Then we tried the yogi that another customer raved about. It was also ok. It was a lot of donut without much flavor and a very small amount of peanut butter and jelly. Then we tried the cronut. It was just a glazed croissant nothing special. There were plenty of donuts to choose from which was surprising since I expected them to be pretty picked over at this time. They are all labeled. They do not have any gluten-free options. The gentleman working seemed like he would rather be anywhere but there. My husband asked how someone goes about choosing because there are so many great options and he responded monotone with "they look at the donuts and then they pick one and they tell me and I get it for them." Then I asked him if he knew if any of the donuts or dairy free other than butter since butter is OK. So he told me to read the sign, which said barely anything about allergens, and did not answer the question. But clearly, he was done discussing the subject so I didn't ask any more questions. Ambience was just OK. It was neither here nor there. Just a donut shop. Nothing really to speak to. We just got one donut each and they were as tasty as any typical donut. Their fall flavors are POPPIN this year!!!! Multiple kinds of pumpkin/apple/cinnamon among the classics. The pumpkin crème brûlée was torched in front of us and gave it a fun crispy top layer and the cream itself was so good. Their donuts aren't overly sweet and they're HUGE. We planned to get 6, but seeing as the maple bar and tiger tail (cinnamon twist) each could be 3 donuts alone, we went with 4 and that was more than enough. My husband has loved Legendary donuts for years and has been a loyal customer. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was very disappointing. Knowing how popular Legendary is--especially on weekends--and that items sell out early, we called in our order Saturday morning to be picked up around 4pm. After explaining this, the employee confirmed it was no problem and that our order would be set aside. When we arrived just before 4pm, however, there was no record of our order and nothing had been held for us. By then, the selection was extremely limited, and my husband was understandably disappointed. The lack of follow-through and professionalism has us reconsidering future visits, especially given the long drive. Our family stopped by for donuts today while visiting family. Everything looked so good, it was impossible to choose! The young guy there was really great, packed our donuts perfectly and explained the advent doughnut calendar to us. The advent calendar is a brilliant idea. So many beautiful and delicious treats to pick from! I got a good variety and picked mostly (all?) legendary level doughnuts, my box came out at just under $50 but each doughnut was large, extremely high quality, beautiful and it felt like a fair price for such tasty treats. My only complaint was the jelly and cream filled doughnuts, especially the raspberry filled felt like more filling that doughnut and the ratio could be improved a bit but the fillings are so delicious it's more of a personal preference than a critique. Very friendly staff and a small "hole in the wall" donut shop. There was ample selection of a lot of unique donuts and "flavors." The front door was pretty dirty and overall the place could use some cleaning. The donuts weren't took expensive and were absolutely delicious. The donuts are massive too so 1 or 2 will definitely do the trick. If you're felling ambitious, I believe they had a donut hamburger which was three giant donuts put together. Legendary is the perfect adjective to describe the donuts here, but the lackluster service was such a turnoff for my first visit here. Just look at their menu on the website and you can see the sheer variety, but obviously they cannot offer all of them on a daily basis. Not the cheapest of donuts, but you're rewarded with a treat of pure size. They also have some of their flavors made in smaller versions, which is a great idea for sampling. Most of the donuts are a bit on the sweeter side just as a forewarning, but that was expected. At our visit, the employee seemed less than eager to help. Customer service usually requires some form of pleasantry, but the vibe was completely unapproachable from the beginning. Other reviews illustrate a different experience, so I'll see what happens at another visit since I really want to try some of their other donuts. read more

My husband was wanting to try this place so one morning he ran over and got a variety of donuts. The he got a half dozen which was close to $20. The options were great and tough to choose just 6.
