I have had pizza from all over the United States, including New York City. My husband has had pizza from all around the world, including Italy. Nowhere have we found any pizza that compares to the amazing pizza at Legends and Lore. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small and almost always busy. The decor is very interesting and will keep you entertained while you wait for your food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And speaking of food, the Flatwood Monster pizza is especially out of this world (pun intended.) One of the toppings is macaroni and cheese. I don't even like mac and cheese, but I love it on this pizza! If you haven't tried it, be sure not to miss it. Just a warning, it does have jalapenos on it. So, if you can't handle a little heat, then I recommend The Legend pizza, which is a supreme with the freshest toppings you'll ever find. Their sammiches are also delicious and very large. A whole hoagie is actually two large sammiches, so you'll have one to eat and one to share or take home. The wings are great too. Heck, everything is fantastic. The owners are friendly and really care about their staff, customers, and the people in the area, often generously giving food those who have fallen on difficult circumstances. They are, as we say here in Appalachia, good people. We drive 36 miles round trip almost every week from Englewood just to eat at our favorite pizza place. It's that good! People say to order the pickle pizza but I haven't taken that plunge yet. My favorite part might be their wings, very meaty and good choices of flavors. In my humble opinion, it's the best pizza on the planet. We've tried six or seven of their signature pizzas and love them all. If you're into pickle pizzas, they've got a great one and their Apple pizza. Dessert is awesome. Be sure and ask for the bourbon sauce on it. read more

Went today for the first time and was very glad we did. We split a small meat Stromboli and wings. The Stromboli was great with lots of flavor and great amount of toppings. The wings were good size and cooked just right. Good seasoning and flavor to them and not a lot of fat. Only got the mild with a side of hot sauce. The mild is very mild and that side of hot was just right. We got sweet tea that is made how it should be made very sweet. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. First up is a hidden gem we went to in Madisonville, TN called Legends & Lore Pizzeria. We took a detour because my friend said she heard about this place from one of her favorite podcasts to listen to and I'm always down for pizza so I quickly said yes. The deal was even better when Big Foot was mentioned lol. To start off staff was great as soon as we got out the car I noticed the staff instantly got ready for us to enter and that was really nice to see. It was our first time there and we were treated so well. The owner was very nice and was great to talk to. We pretty much talked to him the whole time we were there about cryptids. Not going to lie I could have sat there and talked to him for hours if I could. Easy 10/10 Pizza was amazing. The crust looked thick but was very lite and man was it crispy. The first bite I had I knew we had something there. Everything just tasted fresh and high quality. The sauce was so good. It wasn't sugary tasting. It was a lite sweetness but still had that robustness to it. As I type this I'm hungry and my mouth is watering. Easy 9.2/10, it's now in my top 5 favorite pizzas. Anytime I go to Tennessee now I will make sure this is one of my stops. Oh the pizza we got was half Sasquatch and half Area 51 I believe. I don't really remember honestly. We also got the Cheezeballz and I'm so glad we did. These are simply just dough filled and I mean FILLED with Mozzarella cheese. They were awesome. They give you a side of thick garlic butter sauce that was to die for and marinara sauce. My only critique would be they should not only bake these with garlic butter on top but once they are done and come out the oven add more garlic butter on top and then serve it. 8/10 Potatoe wedges were really good. Ok. This Jersey guy approves. It's not thin crust Jersey pie but no one's perfect. It was excellent though. Fresh vegetables on the pie and a side salad for one is big enough for two. I can't believe I'm just hearing about this place and I live one town over. I love their concept (I love Bigfoot) and I'm all about patronizing small local businesses. I checked out their website and read all the reviews before heading over. I'm a huge pickle lover so I was intrigued with their pickle pizza. It received great reviews, however; I didn't want to commit to a whole pizza of it just in case it wasn't for me. I visited the shop on 10/26/24. The sweet lady at the counter helped me out by offering me a baby pickle pizza. It's not offered on the menu from what I could tell but I think it's a great idea considering they have some very different specialty pizzas. I got one of those and I also ordered myself a small traditional pizza with pepperoni, onion, green peppers and pineapple. One thing I'm very picky about is pizza crust. I feel like they got it right! I did enjoy the pickle pizza but I would only buy another baby pie in the future (if allowed), not a whole pie. My traditional pizza was very good. Toppings plentyful and super fresh. Like I said, the crust is everything so kudos to them for making a slightly chewy, slightly crunchy crust. Reminds of me of NYC pizza. No flabby crust here folks and it's not greasy. Not thin and not too thick. I can think of a few chains where you'd be getting flabby and/or greasy crusts. What an interesting little place! The family and I had stopped here after we went to the Lost Sea Adventure. We were on the road back from our trip to NYC. The pizza was delicious and staff were very friendly. I grew up in New York and spent most of my life in Pennsylvania, with frequent traveling around that part of the Northeast. I also spent a year in Chicago when I was in the military. All that to say, I've had some REALLY good pizza in my life. When we moved to Tennessee we knew the food would be different than what we're used to, and I assumed that I would only ever get good pizza again when we traveled back North. I read about Legends and Lore somewhere, and saw that their pizza is pretty well liked. My wife and I tried it and were pleasantly surprised to find that the good reviews were well deserved. Their pizza is by far the best we've found in East Tennessee, and we also really enjoy their wings. The service is always great and the staff always friendly. We were celebrating our son's birthday yesterday (a big Mothman fan!) and after leaving Chattanooga and on our way back home to NE Tennessee, he had picked Legends & Lore Pizzeria as his dinner destination. Took a pizza home a few days ago and couldn't have been happier with flavor, portions, and overall purchase. Came back a few days later to try the sandwiches out and am blown away. If you like unique flavors outside of the box of chain pizzerias this is your place. Plentiful toppings and incredible pricing. I can't say enough about the sandwich's either. Baked and served in a basket with a bag of chips. Great quantities and super friendly service. Between my husband, two boys (ages 4 and 1) and myself we ate the lot! It was amazing tasting! The place is decorated in Sasquatch themed items and conspiracy items. Outstanding pizza. Some of the best in the area- and we've been to ALL of them including the Chattanooga and Knoxville metro areas. Try the pickle pizza- it's made with ranch sauce and is incredible.
