Pulling in, this establishment on a Sunday was very busy, we decided to go anyway and we are so glad we did. Walking in, we were seated right away, the place is packed full. It took alittle bit to get our drink order and our meal order but, that's ok the salsa here is delicious!!! Very good service here!! My family and I had a great lunch at this restaurant. The outside throws you off a little bit but don't worry, this place is well worth it. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff was friendly and very attentive. The music was great as well. I had the enchiladas but my oldest son had the quesabirria tacos. We went to Sol Azteca this evening with a party of 4. We have been there more times than I can count. Tonight was a huge disappointment from the service to the food. When our food came the burrito was cold to the touch and when the server told about it there was a blank stare on her face. She was told that maybe take it back and make it hot would be good. Someone ordered the birria tacos and they are usually served on yellow corn tortillas but this time it was white corn tortillas and they were not crispy when they were cooked. Someone ordered shrimp fajita tacos and said they were good. The last order was chicken fajita tacos and said there was no flavoring at all on the chicken or veggies. Everyone said there was no rice and beans were so bland with no flavor at all on them. This is so unusual for this place. We have always had some many great meals from here and it appears this will be our last. This is quite a drive (40 minutes) for us to get here and will now find a closer place. read more

Definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area! Started with the sampler dip tray, it includes fresh pico(not too spicy), refried bean dip, queso, and guac! They also offer a salsa bar with lots of extra choices. I love the regular chips and salsa, but fun to try the others too!! We had the don Miguel quesadilla and it was huge! Has chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, and pineapple! Such a good combo of all the meats and you get a ton! Also got the enchilada sampler, which included a chicken, bean, cheese and beef enchilada. My favorite was the cheese and beef!! Great drinks, as had their sangria margarita! They also made my daughter a 'margarita', really just a lemonade in a margarita glass with a salted rim! Don't let the cover keep you from going inside. Certainly does not look like much from the outside but inside is a hidden gem in this town. Service was excellent and way too large portions for lunch. Chips and salsa was great. Salsa has a little bite to it but nothing too hot. I love the look inside with many traditional Mexican decor. If your in the area and want done good Mexican food you should have this place at the top of the list. read more

Wouldn't go back again. Phone Ordered the burrito Colorado, I has white cheese sauce on it, didn't come with beans like the menu says. Ordered the burrito Mexicano, no cheese sauce was on the burrito, no red sauce inside the burrito just dry meat. The white cheese sauce is the same thing they use for the chip n cheese dip. Food was decent - this place was packed on a Sunday but it might be because so few other places were open. Service, though, was above and beyond. I called first and explained I am celiac, and whoever I spoke to (suspect it was the manager) said, "When you come in let me know and I will make sure your order is safe." We told the waitress of the gluten allergy, she spoke to the manager, and he prepared my dish himself. That alone made this place worth it, for me. read more

My experience with Sol Azteca resembles a toxic relationship. The service is less than mediocre, particularly by the owners unless you were Hispanic yourself, sometimes they forget your order and bring you something different, or just forget you in the other part of the restaurant for a good 30 minutes before they realized you were customers waiting for your order to be taken. I was always compliant, but they always treat me this way. Their only saving grace, and the only reason I come back, is the food they serve. If you're looking for a nacho fix with a little bit of everything including pineapples, my go-to is the Nachos Don Miguel. My husband will forever get the Arroz Texano. If I was satisfied to the fullest extent every time I came in, I would have given them a 5-star. However, I'm always hurt coming in, but I'm always given great food. A 3-star review would have to suffice. read more

We were very impressed by the menu and the food. Everything is decently priced and it's all absolutely delicious. The expansive menu includes standard Mexican specialties like burritos, tacos, etc. The salsa bar looked great and even the salsa they serve with the free chips was super delicious. We didn't try any, but they also seemed to have margaritas and other specialty cocktails. Was also so happy to see they had vegetarian options and also gluten-free options available for those with dietary restrictions. Fajitas and white cheese dip were great; yet we don't recommend the shrimp dip, it's runny, barely any shrimp, for the price, and extremely spicy. Chips and salsa were good. The meal was $40, which seems too high for the amount of food we received. We were quoted 1 total price over the phone, yet charged at least $2 more when we picked up our to-go order too?! read more
