They skipped my song on TouchTunes. I asked why and they said if it doesn't fit their vibe they skip it. You do not get a refund for the song you paid for. This goes against the entire point of TouchTunes man. Also kind of hypocritical of Legends since they fight so hard to play loud music within the town ordinances but sensor your music. legends used to be the bar of the common man but now they are catering to the yuppies. It's weird to think the closest Billiards spots respective to Kittery would be in Portsmouth, NH. As such, we capped-off our 21st anniversary night at this place for a few friendly rounds of pool. Right up front, I'd like to get some caveats/minor gripes out the way. While these might not necessarily be within this establishment's control, folks coming here should be forewarned about the parking. As the page states, there is street and garage parking; both of which are paid. Whilst I'm not sure exactly how much street parking is, normal garage parking is $2 per hour, cash only. However, this was the 3rd of July. Which meant there was a fireworks show scheduled that evening (little to our knowledge at the time). Which also meant...."pay us 10 bucks right now" to park. So, we did. Good thing I had a 10 dollar bill on hand, eh? Well, I guess there's an elevator tucked away on the side furthest from the pool hall. If you're not able to find that, you'll end up like wifey and I climbing 4 flights of stairs till our lungs give out from hyperventilation. Option 2 would have been to walk WAY too many feet over to where ever the hell the supposed elevator was. In other words, we had neither the patience nor energy left to go on a scavenger hunt for the elevator. Anyways, things get better once you've survived the endurance of city parking. The interior of this place immediately told me we were in a legit 21+ bar and games establishment. The decorum is inviting and really sets the mood for a fun night out with friends and whatnot. You get your table at the front register. Prices were fair all around. I think I only paid 7 bucks per glass of wine, too. The billiards hall has the type of service you'd come to expect in such a lounge. The servers wander the tables to accommodate any orders or requests. Take caution: they do not allow beverages to be taken with you into the restroom (not sure why anyone would do this, considering the hygienic concerns with that...but whatevs). So, don't get caught up like that one guy who may or may not have a drinking problem. Moving on.. The tables themselves are level and sturdy. Plenty of cue sticks available or you can bring your own as we do. Everything looked clean and kept up. This may seem minor, but it's a big deal. I've certainly visited my fair share of billiards halls where the restrooms were so gross, I wanted to order a hazmat suit prior to using the john. Not the case with Legends though. The late Queen Elizabeth herself would have been proud to sit upon this porcelain thrown. The staff were johnny-on-the-spot. I really don't know what else to say about them...other than they were easily worth the 25% tip. But I'm torn on whether or not we'll return and it's for a slightly complicated reason. Basically, we'd easily return for the establishment itself and everything they have to offer (we've yet to try any of the food here). However, it's the parking situation I detest so much that holds me back. I dunno. Perhaps I'll work up the nerve, grin and bare it, and just force myself into the sardine can of a parking lot across the street once again. Perhaps I can manage to park closer to the elevators next time. A close, conveniently priced hot spot for those feeling froggy enough to have a rousing game of darts, billiards, and whatever else. Had I not been a guest of someone playing pool league i would have left after the 5th time the jukebox played the same Nickelback song. Got here at 6. I ordered catering from company (Win-Waste Innovations) to feed 65 people. It was phenomenal, everyone loved the deviled eggs & mac n cheese. It was super easy to order everything with the GM as well. I've never had more people come up to me and say this is one of their top favorites from places I have ordered from in the past!! Awesome bartenders and waitresses, unfortunately was treated as if I had a weapon when I went to use the restroom with a PBR in my hand. They had a unmarked restroom security guard who reported me to the Portsmouth police that I was relieving myself in the urinal with a unauthorized beer in my hand. I've relieved myself in thousands of restrooms throughout my 30 years of drinking beer and I have not experienced this kind of discrimination from an establishment who relies on its customers to buy and drink alcohol. I felt violated as a security guard attempted to grab for my beer while I was relieving myself. Would not recommend! read more

Came here for the first time with a group of friends. We were able to get in without any difficulty, staff was very friendly. I got the Cali cocktail and was satisfied with how it tasted. My friend enjoy her sangria and my boyfriend liked his blueberry lemonade drink. Prices were reasonable. Unfortunately we weren't able to get a pool table, which was the main reason we came, but was informed that before coming in. Overall a very good experience. read more

Went last night for the first time in years. Staff was decent until 1:03 AM when they started being very rude and yelling at people to get out. It's almost like their customer service disappeared completely. Several members harassed and yelled at us. I had no intention of staying and it was quite obvious. Can't say enough good things about Legend's! We've been going here for years, and this past weekend they generously allowed us to have our engagement party there. The catered food from them was awesome, everyone loved it. It was the perfect space for what we needed, everyone had great things to say about it. Definitely need to give special thank you to Kyrstin, she really helped us out! The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating to the group. Legends was pretty chill. My friends and I showed up and had a pint because they had so many choices on tap. We played a few rounds of pool and you can get wait service at the pool tables which is a plus. I found the staff here chill and the people very chill as well. My only complaint is that pints were like $8 each which is a bit pricey IMO for a divey kind of place. read more

Random patron tried to stop us and tell us it was a $5 cover to try and steal our money, then we were approached by two bouncers who told us we had too much to drink, we'd been cut off and to move along. Came here with a large group of more than 20 people, a friend of mine was transgender and tried to go into the womens restrooms with a cis women, and was pushed out by the women who were in there and the bouncer was waiting outside the door and kicked them out of the restaurant for "sexual harassment" for trying to use the bathroom as the gender they identify as. Very cool place to drink and play games! When we walked in it was a little tough to get up to the bar to get a drink so they probably could of used more help but there is a different game for everyones taste here and I really loved that! It would be such a fun place to come with a group of people and do something different then just sit around the bar. The bathrooms were a little dirty but I guess that's to be expected in such a busy place. It seems like they're having trouble figuring out what kind of establishment they want to be too. They have a subpar environment to play pool in, they aren't a full bar, the place is infested with 20 year olds, and they play rap music. It's not that there is anything wrong with legends, just nothing particularly great. It is one of the few bar type areas that will allow under 21s to be present in New Hampshire, so that could be a plus or a minus depending. Drinks are OK, and the pool is decent. I have been coming to Legends for about 3 years now, atleast once a month. It has always been a place warm and welcoming to regulars and to visitors. Lately it has just lost its touch. I don't know if it's new managment over the last few months or what..some of the bartenders recently changed..and the new ones frankly just aren't as warm and welcoming. They are trying to do all this fancy stuff like trivia etc. and turn it into something it's never been, but if you can't make guests feel welcome..or keep your staff...you are definitely doing something wrong. My favorite go to spot. Cheap/good beer, mostly free pool, and the bartenders take great care of you. My only complaints would be that you have to pay for music and the drink line can be long when they are slammed. The nice new bar they're putting in should help with that though! The place doesn't deserve a 5, but it deserves a 4. They have a decent selection of beer. The cider selection is limited, but that's fine. The pool tables are nice and big, the cues are well maintained, the darts are good (though the boards could do for some replacing...). All in all, I had a great time. If you're looking for some pool, some darts, or just a pub night out, this is probably my favorite place in Portsmouth. Coat of Arms is just right next door, and it's also really nice. read more
